This Nidoran(♂) was only so-so, at least when it came to its level and low talent. Gan was easily able to defeat and it with Geodude. Nidoking wasn't a bad choice to add to his Team Rocket Squad, but Nidoqueen was a Pokemon he preferred over him.
Seeing that he was right about the appearance of Nidoran turning up here, he decided to stay for the appearance of a Nidoran(♀). Of course, this wasn't a common Pokemon in this area, but they were surely here.
Gan decided that once he went back to Pewter City, he would need to buy a tent and camping gear or something. He always spent time in the wild, and just sitting around was a bit annoying at times. There was a lot of waiting involved, so it required patience to wait for the chosen Pokemon to show.
Gan pulled out a chair from his storage and started to drink some lemonade to himself. Geodude just stood guard, watching at every turn. "Maybe some bait will be appropriate later, I should also get a Pokemon with Sweet Scent to attract them."
An oddish was sounding pretty good right about now because of its move. Oddish wasn't rare, so if he wanted one, Gan was sure he could find one located near Celedon City. Gan summoned his Koffing, and order it to fly over the forest to see if it could find a Nidoran(♀).
Gan had to describe the Pokemon to Koffing, so that when he found it; it could alert him. Koffing called out its name and took to the sky to start its search. Gan just stayed seated and stretched while he was at it—getting into the scenery of the wild.
A wild Spearow started a confrontation with a Pidgey, these Pokemon were quite the troublemakers from what Gan had seen. The show indicated this and so did this world.
Gan remembered his fight with those Spearow, and how they went to get help from a Fearow.
Gan took his chair and placed it someway away from these two. He didn't want to get involved in their fight. After about five minutes of waiting, Koffing appeared in the distance.
"Koffing!" Koffing rotated around; indicating that it had found something.
"Did you find the described Pokemon?" Gan asked as he stood up.
Koffing nodded in return.
"Perfect, lead the way!" Gan stored the chair back and followed Koffing.
Koffing wasn't the fastest but at least it knew where to go, so Gan didn't care. There was no rushing unless he ended up wasting the day away for nothing. Koffing led him into the forest near the League area, and he followed.
The forest wasn't that thick like Viridian Forest, nor was it so green and healthy. After walking for about eight minutes, Koffing suddenly stopped. Koffing descended, it seemed like it was trying to hide.
Gan peeked over and what he saw amazed him. There was a group of Nidoran females and males together. As for the number, he didn't know but he started to scan them all for the best possible talent.
As usual; most of them were all 1-star, and there were even a few 2-stars among them. However, there was always that oddball amongst such a big group. The oddity was a 3-star Nidoran♀. There was even a Nidoran(♂) that had a 3-star talent.
These 2 were together, they must have noticed each other compatibility with each other. Gan signaled Koffing to go around them to cut them off. These Pokemon were a part of the rodent family, so once danger arouse; they would make a run for it.
He wanted both of these Pokemon to be his!
Once Nidoran escaped into the forest, it would be hard to pursue them through the thicket. Gan instructed Geodude to get into position, which was next to him. He had already pointed out the two targets he wanted to catch, so they both knew.
Koffing circled around and when it was in position, it came out from its place of hiding. Koffing easily spooked the group of Nidoran, and they all scattered in different directions. Koffing shot a flamethrower to force the duo of Nidoran to run towards a different route.
A forest fire was a dangerous thing, so he told Koffing to be extremely careful while using such a move. In Viridian Forest, the greenery was damp and rich—allowing it to resist wildfires from occurring.
Both Nidoran changed routes and ran in the direction they were meant to run.
Right into Gan's clutches!
They both hopped and ran over, at that moment, Geodude popped up and quickly knocked them both over the head. A clunking sound was heard as they both fell to the ground unmoved.
"Wow, be careful, we don't want to break their skulls and kill them!" Gan was shocked, Geodude may have hit them a little too hard. They were only at level 4, so he didn't need much to knock them out.
"G-Geo!" Geodude seemed sorry as he went over to inspect the Nidoran duo.
"It's okay, just be a bit more careful, they aren't that strong yet." Gan waved his hand and tossed two Pokeballs at them—catching them with ease.
A Three Star Pokemon was the pinnacle you could find in the wild, then there was the extremely rare Four Star. As for Five Stars, you could just forget it; the only way to get those was through breeding.
Of course, with the use of Star Pieces and Star Dust, it was also possible. Gan was really grateful for his cheat to spot talented Pokemon, it gave him the advantage in this world.
With the capture of both Nidoran, his Team Rocket Squad was nearly complete. The last Pokemon he wanted to add to his Team Rocket Team was naturally Gengar. Gan wanted to complete his Team Rocket Team because he had a role to play.
Finishing up here, he quickly left Route 22 back to Viridian City. He remembered where the exit was to reach Viridian Forest. Arriving in Viridian Forest, he went on his way; there were different men at the Outpost this time around.
Gan showed them his ID then they let him pass, this was to stop under-aged kids from venturing through there and getting killed. Technically, anyone under 18 was underage in Gan's book, but the World of Pokemon looked at it differently.
Viridian Forest was the same as usual; beautiful but deadly for most beginner trainers. Gan thought for a moment, he wasn't in rush now, and his uniform should arrive tomorrow.
"Hmm, I can train these Nidoran here, then maybe check out Zone 2 to see if I can catch something from there." It was dangerous, but he felt a little confident now that he had a Grimer and Koffing with a fire move.
"If the levels are too high in that area, then I'm out of there!" Gan concluded. Thus, he began his search for Pokemon to beat down.
Caterpie and Weedle were very common around here, so what better target than them? Just as he was walking, he spotted a group of six Caterpie. One of them suddenly lit up in bright white light, it was evolving!
"Hehe, more exp for me!" Gan chuckled silently and watched from a bush. He just waited for it to evolve.
Unfortunately, these Pokemon were higher in level compared to his Nidoran, so he could only give it aid with the help of Geodude. These Caterpie were all level five and six, with the newly evolved Metapod being seven.
The Nidoran male and female only knew two moves.
"You two will be working together to fight these Caterpie, and most importantly that Metapod." Summoning them both, he gave them orders immediately.
Gan had healed them up a while ago with Potions.
Both of them looked at the group of bugs squirming about. With just one look, they could tell that Caterpie wasn't anything special.
"Go! Nidoran, use peck and you use scratch!" Both of them jumped out of the bush and dashed over to attack the group of Caterpie together.
Geodude was behind them to monitor them if they got into trouble, he was practically a babysitter at this point.
.....
Moments later, Gan could be seen leaving the scene. He traveled around the Viridian Forest for a while challenging Pokemon with his Nidoran duo.
After a while, they both had reached level eleven, so now Gan wanted to check out Zone 2. Geodude also leveled up, but only by one level since he didn't really participate that much.
Magikarp leveled up as well, it couldn't do anything but leech exp.
Perhaps he could catch something new to complete his mission. Looking at the Viridian Forest map, he easily found his way toward the entrance of Zone 2.
The number of danger signs set up on the way was insane, they really went out of their way to warn people of the dangers. Gan merely looked into Zone 2; the trees here were taller thicker and greener.
The trees had fruits growing on them compared to the ones in Zone 2, while there were many berries bushes here as well. Gan crept his way into Zone 2, he moved cautiously through this area, but he didn't go too deep.
He needed one more Pokemon to complete his mission, so he was a bit anxious to get it done. He had his Geodude and Koffing out with him; they knew the drill and that was to abide cautiously.
Suddenly, a fur ball rolled out of the forest, its big round eyes were red. It shot a laser from its mouth, attacking a Pokemon that was fighting it. Gan recognized the attacker as a Beedrill, it was higher in level than usual; being at level nineteen.
The Beedrill was blown out of the sky with one beam, it crashed into the forest somewhere. Gan had already taken cover to scope out the situation. He looked at the furball and recognized it as a Venonat.
....
|Name: Venonat♀

"Jeez! Such a high level, but I should be able to take it down." Gan was quite worried about those Psychic attacks, which threatened his whole team. Gan considered getting a Psychic Pokemon for his Team Rocket Team, maybe Exeggutor?
Gan summoned Grimer, he was going to be shameless for this catch, he didn't care.
