The Protector was something he needed for his future Rhydon, which was a part of his League Team. Rhyhorn was a Kanto pokemon, so people could find it with little difficulty.
This was why many people wanted this item.
"This is a special exclusive item that can evolve one species of pokemon. It's the same as the Dragonscale, but this item is harder to acquire."
Qu'ron had a wide grin across his face, he knew this item would draw the interest of most of the audience.
"Great! The starting bid will be ₱200,000, you guys may bid now!" He said smilingly.
"₱230,000!"
"₱255,000!"
"₱275,000!"
"₱300,000!"
The bids started rising quickest so it had ever gone so far. Gan sat quietly and weighed everyone's limits before bidding.
This was equivalent to Gan saving his breath until the last moment. Gan noticed that people from other V.I.P. rooms were bidding hard this time.
The bid stopped at ₱500,000, which caused Gan to sweat a bit from the shocking price. However, he was assured when he remembered that his Storage backpack would start at a way higher price than this.
The room when silent after the ₱500,000 was heard. Qu'ron started the countdown, but Gan increased the bid to ₱520,000.
This caused a few people to gasp, it was truly an astronomical price. The man in the guest room frowned, but he challenged Gan anyway.
This went on until the price reached ₱650,000!
The man didn't bid anymore and lost interest. Gan won the bid, but the item, of course—wasn't sent to him.
The next item was an Electirizer, which Gan managed to buy at ₱835,000. When this item appeared the bidding war intensified.
Afterward, the next items weren't so great. They were mostly [Held Items] that helped boost certain types of moves, such as Sharp Beak.
Gan didn't purchase any of these items, as they weren't really that important to him. This continued for about thirty minutes. They were moving quickly and were bidding and buying at the same rate.
"Next, we have some special balls from the expert himself, Kurt of Johto. These were made to help boost your bond and the friendliness of your pokemon."
These balls were revealed, there were a total of 12 of them. They were half green and half white; being green at the top and white at the bottom.
"These are Friendballs and the starting bid will be ₱10,000, you may begin." Once Qu'ron announced this, the room went silent.
There didn't seem to be anyone interested from what Gan could judge. Someone up the bid to ₱11,000 but Gan increased it to ₱12,000.
Afterward, Gan won the unique balls.
Next was the introduction of another item that confused Gan at first. However, he remembered the strange letter before about new things.
Qu'ron, the Auctioneer, introduced the next items as [Link Cords]. The Auctioneer didn't know the origin of the items, as his explanations were vague and hard to understand.
"This looks like some sort of technology that was made by Silph Co. or some other company." From his memories, this item was acquired through some sort of time displacement event. Perhaps it had come to this world from some other time or reality.
"Nonetheless, this item is important as it can evolve pokemon that require trading sooner than leveling." Gan could but think that it was about time they created an item such as this.
"There are a total of two of them here, we're auctioning these items together. These can be used to evolve pokemon early, such as Graveler, Machoke, Kadabra, and Haunter."
Qu'ron smiled before stating the auction starting bid of ₱100,000!
The price wasn't on par with the Electirizer and the bid started immediately. Since this item only evolved these pokemon sooner, it wasn't as intense as the Electirizer or the Protector.
This was for obvious reasons, and that only being that this item only evolved them sooner rather than later.
The bid reached ₱300,000, but it stopped there before being won over by Gan.
A great of people were squinting their eyes, was this guy going to buy everything? This even caused many people in the V.I.P. rooms to feel dissatisfied.
Gan summoned Kadabra because of his high perception ability. Right away, Kadabra knew that there were people who resented him.
This was the only pokemon Gan could actually communicate with. Kadabra informed Gan that there were pokemon locked up in the building. It said this because it found that Gan had a strong interest in collecting pokemon.
Gan nodded and explained that they were likely being auctioned off later.
The auction continued onward, but these items were things that Gan wasn't interested in. However, Gan managed to buy a small bundle of Star pieces, six to be exact, for ₱600,000.
Gan now had enough Star pieces to upgrade two pokemon from 3 to 4-star pokemon. Someone managed to buy an Eviolite Stone, something Gan wanted. However, he was getting too much attention, so he withdrew mid-way.
"The next item will be this, it's a Metal Coat and its starting price is ₱120,000. You may start your bids."
Gan was surprising the first to raise the price, he really wanted this item. Of course, the price continued to rise from other challengers. The only reason Gan could be so confident was because of the items he had up for auction.
Gan bought the Metal Coat for ₱540,000! This item could only evolve two known pokemon so far, so it wasn't necessary for most people.
However, for Gan—who was trying to fill out his Pokedex, it was mandatory. If he was here with other trainers at some regular open auction, he would no doubt end up in an intense bidding war.
Suddenly, a man came on stage with two objects covered by cloaks.
"Next, we'll be auctioning pokemon fossils. The first fossil is a fossil from the Hoenn region, it's known as the..." The auctioneer paused and gazed at a piece of paper.
"The Claw Fossil," Qu'ron announced confidently.
Gan had heard Luke mention that there was one fossil on auction—other than his. The Claw fossil belonged to Anorith, which wasn't a bad pokemon. However, it wasn't a pokemon he was too interested in.
Gan still wanted to get it since fossils weren't something people just found or handed out. The fossil bid price was starting at ₱100,000
The price in a similar fashion began to rise low but steadily. This was until it finally reached ₱300,000.
Some guy dressed as some sort of explorer or archaeologist seemed really adamant about getting this fossil. Gan could see the man down below, he was amongst the crowd of people.
Gan bidded and the archaeologist kept increasing the price. He really didn't want to give this fossil up. The man didn't even bother hiding his face, as if he wasn't worried about being targeted in the future.
Gan kept bidding against him until the price reached ₱800,000, which shocked Gan greatly. This guy was truly determined to get this fossil.
It didn't stop before reaching ₱920,000, this is when the man stop bidding. With a sigh, he could only stop but he gazed up at the sixth room with a disheartened expression.
The next fossil came and this was Gan's Helix fossil. Once again, the price crept upward, and Gan challenged the man again until the fossil reached the price of ₱915,000.
However, Gan didn't say anything more and allowed the archaeologist to win the bid for the fossil. Gan could somewhat see the relief on the archaeologist's face when he stopped bidding.
"Next, we'll auction off the last item before getting into the TMs." Right then, a man came on stage with an evolutionary stone.
Gan had analyzed it as it was being brought to the stage. He found out that it was a Shiny Stone, something he needed as well.
Qu'ron simply stated what type of stone it was and who could be evolved with it. Afterward, he stated the starting bidding price, which was ₱150,000.
"₱230,000"
"₱250,000"
"₱275,000"
"₱310,000"
The price continued to rise until it was ultimately bought by Gan for ₱710,000.
----
Meanwhile, the man returned to the room after his investigation.
"What did you find out about the man from room six?" The white-suited man asked arrogantly.
"We didn't find out anything, they refused to tell me any details about him. I even offered money and several other benefits, but they told me to leave.
The large man's expression fell.
"They won't tell us anything?" The white-suited man frowned. This annoying guy was buying everything up, did he come from some rich family?
This wasn't impossible at all. These rich families were actually here but hidden. They came here to purchase a few things as well.
"Go have someone monitor that room. I want to see what family may be involved in this." The white-suited man had to be careful, he couldn't offend the wrong people.
"Yes, sir, we'll people to monitor the room closely." The large man said with a grin.
----
"Next will be TMs, there aren't many as there are only a total of five." The auctioneer, Qu'ron waved his hand and announced.
The auctioneer began to auction off the TM's one by one. The first TM that was being auctioned was Thunder Wave, Pluck, Silver Wind, Endure, and Drain Punch.
Gan only purchased Thunder Wave and Drain Punch for a grand total of ₱895,000.
"Now, for the next part of the auction. This time, we'll be auctioning off special items before getting to the last part of the auction—Pokemon."
Qu'ron grinned.
