A tiny café on Aulmurus City huddled despondent among the huge city buildings. Washed out under the overcast sky, it hunched in itself, fighting against the drizzle. Hundreds of people rushed by it, outside on the crowded street. The half a dozen customers glanced up as the door swung open, heralded by a blast of cold wind. Unlike the outside, the interior of the café was warm and cheery, with bright lights and colorful walls. The customers returned to their conversations as the door swung closed behind the new entrant and the cold breeze was forgotten.
Professor Bellice and Professor Indigo are best friends with each other. They help one another on completing their respective researches, data, or even equipment. It's been a long time since their last meeting. They've decided to meet each other again in a small cafe in Aulmurus city.
On a small brown circular table, with two plates of red velvet cakes, and two small cups of coffee with a dwindle of sugar lies Bellice and Indigo. Indigo contacted her best friend to discuss matters about the newly discovered substance, and the weather forecast. Indigo is a serious professor, unlike Bellice who still has a playful mind. She's only serious when it comes to Pokemons.
If Indigo is an expert in Biology and other branches related to that, Bellice is an expert when it comes to Chemistry and Meteorology.
"If you look at this forecast, you could see that the weather pattern is different." Professor Indigo explained as she shows the forecast on her laptop.
"Indigo, we came here to meet and not talk about research. Can we explore the city instead?" Bellice begged as she leaned her face forward with enthusiasm and excitement.
"Bellice, grow up! Sightseeing is only for little children. We have to focus on this substance and forecast. We're on a brink of experiencing a year-long drought." Indigo facepalmed and tried to convince Professor Bellice to focus.
"They say that there's an island somewhere far from the coasts of the city. Why don't we check it out? I'm tired from all this science stuff, I've been on my lab for almost half of the day just to take care of Pokemons. So, why don't we go to this island!?" Professor Bellice suggested with enthusiasm as she shows the picture of the island on her laptop.
"Some things never change. Let's focus on this first then we can go visit the island."
"Aw! Please... Come on, we haven't bonded for a long time. The name of the island is called Kuchiba island. It's home to one of the rarest Pokemon in this region! I think the name goes by Zera, Zora, I kinda forgot the name."
"Were you even listening to what I said!?" Professor Indigo giggled and sighed.
"Oh, were you saying something? Sorry, I got too excited that's all."
"Oh fine, Let's find this island and gather data about Zeraora. Once it's done, we can now return and you'll promise to fix this issue."
"Of course! I miss the good old days when we used to be trainers. Traveling across the sea, searching far and wide, across the land and above the mountains, how I miss the spirit of adventure!" Professor Bellice stood up with excitement.
"Do you even know who Zeraora is?" Professor Indigo giggled and questioned as one of her eyebrows was raised.
"Well of course! Zeraora is one of the most rarest mythical Pokemon. I can't wait to find and gather details about it." Professor Bellice jumped with excitement and enthusiasm.
Now let's head back to our current condition. On the small barren island, me and Camellia were separated from Captain Smith and Glade. It was all because of a rampaging Gyarados. It's still uncertain where the beast could be found, the only question that remains is when will help arrive?
"Where are we?!" Glade questioned as he and Captain Smith walked around the island. With a Katana on his right hand, Captain Smith sliced and chopped down every long grass, shrubs, or even trees which may be a hurdle to their path. They thought no life existed on the island, but it looks like to me, this island is not barren after all.
Creepy crawlies, bugs, and other grass-type Pokemons surround the area. There are also different kinds of Pokemon types that can be seen on the island, may it be fire or even electric.
"This is Kuchiba island. One of the most dangerous places on Earth." Captain Smith explained while slicing down a long weed.
"Dangerous!? I can see what you mean by that." Glade shivered with fear as his eyes rolled upon the tall trees, jumping Pokemons and even some creepy crawlies.
"We have to find your friends, and also a way out of here, if we don't want to die. Legends speak of a mythical Pokemon living in this area. Yellow fur, twilight body, Zeraora is the name." Captain Smith explained with conviction and enthusiasm.
"Z... Zeraora!?" Glade suddenly got scared as his body continued to throb. It was like more than thousands of electric needles pierced through his skin, as cold sweat drooled off his face.
"Yes... Zeraora is known as the ThunderClap Pokemon. We have to be careful of its footsteps. Zeraora's speed is incredibly far beyond us.
The myth of the ThunderClap Pokemon spread throughout the region during the time of Champion Athena. It was a dark oozing night, twilight across the sky. The moon was large back then, while the Champion peacefully ate her dinner.
Her dinner was suddenly interrupted by two frightened maidens. Cold sweat, and eerie eyes, these maidens bore bad news for the champion. The maidens told the champion about what happened to Kuchiba island.
A fire suddenly engulfed the island due to arson. People burned down the forest to make way for urbanization. Countless Pokemons died during the fire, and no one dared to help them except for Zeraora.
Before, Zeraora used to have faith in humanity, but after knowing that a young man was the reason for the fire, Zeraora got furious and indignant. Zeraora watched men burning down the forest with their fiery torches of destruction.
Zeraora tried to save as much as many Pokemons as it can, as its heart raged with anger and betrayal. Before, Zeraora used to believe that humanity and Pokemons are made for each other, but after seeing humanity's wrath? Zeraora's belief changed. Humanity is nothing but a dwelling twilight. A dusk engulfing the spirits and souls of innocent Pokemons.
Still, even if Zeraora tried to save as many Pokemons as it can, a lot of Pokemons perished and died. The fire calmed down after the rain passed by. Smoke began to ooze out of the ground while murk filled the air. Zeraora looked around and saw nothing but death, grief, and sadness.
It promised to himself, from that day onwards, humanity is an enemy. Humanity is insane beings, beings with no compassion and grace, beings who deserve nothing but death.
Athena ordered some of her knights to seek for the island, and find any survivors. Days turned into weeks, and weeks turned into months, her knights haven't returned since.
She gave an order and sent another squadron to seek for the lost knights, but just like the previous battalion, the knights were also unable to return. Due to this, people believed that Zeraora hunted down these knights, as a revenge for starting the fire. People began to panic and worry while Athena ordered the arsonist to be captured.
Athena told the people, that from this day onwards, the island shall be untouched by any human. Those who dare to come to the island will suffer and never return. The island grew back to its natural glory, and the people forgot about the commandment.
As time passed by, countless people disobeyed the law and traveled to Kuchiba island. No one was able to return, hopefully, we'll be the first." Captain Smith explained while looking around the forest. He was searching for me and Camellia which appears to be on the other side of the island.
"If no one returned... the chances of returning are minimal to none!? We'll be killed by Zeraora." Glade feared as his voice vibrated and trembled.
"Ay! Don't be a coward. As long as you have Pokemons with you, you'll be fine. We still need time to create a raft though."
Back on Aulmurus city, Professor Indigo and Professor Bellice rented a small yacht to the island. Indigo is a professional yacht captain, aside from being a Pokemon Professor. On the ship, Professor Bellice searched about the myth of Zeraora. Being scientists and professors, Indigo and Bellice didn't believe the superstitious belief and instead decided to ignore it. Adventure awaits for the two young professors, what awaits me and my friends? We'll know soon as the journey continues...
