Chapter 8: The Fit To Be Tide

(Today, Mew and her friends are on a new adventure.)

(Exploring the Orange Islands as Mew set out to qualify for the Pokemon League.)

(The group of friends are riding on Lapras in the middle of the ocean under the nice bright sky.)

(Lapras continues to swim and is really enjoying it.)

Misty: "I think Lapras is having fun."

(Misty says.)

Tracey: "Yeah, and even with all of us riding, Lapras have really good speed."

(Tracey says.)

Togepi: "Toge, toge," (Good speed.)

(Togepi happily says.)

Pichu: "Pichu," (Really good.)

(Pichu replies.)

(Suddenly, a bump in the wave causes Pikachu to fall off of Mew's shoulder.)

Mew: "Oh no!"

(Mew panics.)

(Mew reaches out and is able to catch Pikachu before.)

Mew: "That was a close one, wasn't it, Pikachu?"

(Mew replies.)

Pikachu: "Pikachu," (Yes it was.)

(Pikachu answers.)

(Tomo says to Lapras.)

Tomo: "We're not really in a hurry, so you don't have to rush, Lapras."

Mew: "Yeah, we oughta just take our time and enjoy the ride."

(Mew says.)

Eevee: "Eevee," (I agree.)

(Eevee says.)

(Soon lapras begins to take his time.)

Mew: "Except I would like to get something to eat soon."

(Mew says.)

Pikachu: "Pika." (Same here.)

(Pikachu says.)

Eevee: "Eevee," (Me three.)

(Eevee says.)

Misty: "Yeah, I'm kinda hungry, too."

(Misty says.)

Tracey: "Well, we can get something on Mikan Island if you want."

(Tracey says.)

Misty: "Mikan Island?"

(Misty asks, turning to Tracey.)

Tracey: "Yeah. One of the Orange League gyms is there, too."

(Tracey says.)

Tomo: "There's an Orange League gym there, huh?"

(Tomo asks.)

Tracey: "Yeah,"

(Tracey says.)

(Mew turns to her Pikachu and Eevee.)

Mew: "Did you hear that, Pikachu? Eevee? We can go and challenge the gym leader."

Pikachu: "Pika." (Yeah.)

(Pikachu says.)

Eevee: "Eevee," (Can't wait.)

(Eevee says.)

(Mew turns to Lapras.)

Mew: "Alright Lapras, full speed ahead to Mikan Island!"

Pikachu and Eevee: "Pika, Pika!/Eevee Eevee!" (Full speed ahead!)

(Pikachu and Eevee call out.)

(With that, Mew and her friends continue to ride on Lapras to Mikan Island.)

(However, they are unaware that they're being watched.)

(by a periscope that leads to Team Rocket's Magikarp Submarine.)

(Jessie laughs and says.)

Jessie: "We're on the trail of the twerps. Full speed ahead."

James: "Can't it be no speed ahead, 'cause I'm pooped!"

(James says, feeling tired from the pedaling.)

Meowth: "Meowth, too."

(Meowth agrees.)

(Soon, the two stop in exhaustion, and the sub begins to sing.)

(Jessie screams.)

Jessie: "We're sinking!"

(And whacks James and Meowth with a fan.)

Jessie: "Now stop complaining and start pedaling!"

(Jessie commands.)

(But James whines.)

James: "But Jessie, we've been pedaling down here all day!"

Jessie: "Well, we just lost the boss's blimp, and if we don't come up with some rare Pokémon fast, he's going to kick us off Team Rocket for good!"

(Jessie says, pedaling.)

(With that, all three begin to pedal as fast as they can.)

James: "That's ridiculous! The boss can't just discard me like an old shoe!"

(James says.)

Meowth: "We've gotta capture a Pokemon this time, or the boss is gonna give us all the boot!"

(Meowth says.)

(Suddenly, the pedals stop turning.)

(Team Rocket tries to turn the pedal, but they won't budge.)

Jessie: "The pedals are stuck!"

(Jessie shouts.)

(Outside, it's revealed that the submarine and its propeller are covered in seaweed.)

(Meowth screams.)

Meowth: "Do something, quick!"

Jessie: "I don't want to be buried at sea!"

(Jessie screams as the submarine begins to sink.)

(Meanwhile, Mew and her friends see land.)

Tracey: "Well, there's Mikan Island."

(Tracey says.)

(Soon enough, Mew and her friends arrive at shore.)

Mew: "Good work, Lapras. Return."

(Mew calls out, and returns Lapras to the Pokeball.)

Mew: "Now we'll take you to the Pokemon Center for a treatment."

(Mew says.)

(Soon, Mew and her friends arrive at the Pokemon Center.)

(to get Lapras treated.)

(First, they decide to give Professor Oak a call.)

(Mew uses the phone.)

Mew: "Hi, Professor Oak. Just wanted to call and say hello."

Professor Oak: "Oh, excellent. And how are Pikachu, Eevee, Togepi, Pichu, Meloetta, and Skwovet doing today?"

(Professor Oak replies.)

(The Pokemon happily confirms.)

(Then Tracey says getting into the screen.)

Tracey: "Uh, I'm doing fine, too, Professor Oak."

(Seeing Tracey, Professor Oak asks.)

Professor Oak: "Oh? And who might you be?"

Tracey: "Oh, my name is Tracey Sketchit, Professor."

(Tracey answers.)

Mew: "Tracey's a Pokemon Watcher, Professor."

(Mew replies.)

Professor Oak: "Ah. A Pokémon Watcher."

(Professor Oak says.)

Tracey: "Yes, and I've admired your work for a long time, Professor, and I…"

(Tracey says, but is interrupted to see Mew's Muk.)

Professor Oak: "Oh, Muk. Take it easy now,"

(Professor Oak says, turning to Muk.)

(Soon, Mew, Pikachu, and Eevee, along with Tomo, Meloetta, and Skwovet begin giggling.)

(Then Mew remembers.)

Mew: "Oh, Professor, I almost forgot to tell you. I caught a Lapras!"

Professor Oak: "That's great news, Mew."

(Professor Oak says with glee.)

(Then says.)

Professor Oak: "Now be sure to train it well."

Mew: "I sure will, we'll talk to you again soon, Professor."

(Mew says.)

(Muk ends up taking Professor Oak to the ground.)

(making Mew and her friends laugh.)

(Later on, Mew and her friends are heading to the Mikan gym for Mew's match.)

Tracey: "I can't believe I have friends who are friends with Professor Oak."

(Tracey says with excitement.)

Mew: "Professor Oak was the one who gave me Pikachu."

(Mew says.)

Misty: "I had no idea Professor Oak was so famous."

(Misty says.)

(Tracey turns to the others and says.)

Tracey: "Are you kidding? I bet just about every Pokémon Watcher in the world dreams of having one of their reports reviewed by Professor Oak! I sure hope I get to meet him."

Misty: "Sounds like Professor Oak's a superstar. I guess we'll have to get his autograph, then."

(Misty says with a chuckle.)

(Even Pichu and Togepi begin giggling.)

(Mew then turns to Tracey.)

Mew: "Hey Tracey, sorry to change the subject, but what's the Mikan gym leader like?"

Tracey: "They say the Mikan gym leader's one of the toughest trainers in the orange crew."

(Tracey answers.)

Mew: "A match with one of the toughest trainers in the Orange Crew! I can hardly wait!"

(Mew says, interested.)

(Then says.)

Mew: "Let's get going!"

(Pikachu and Eevee agree.)

(Mew and her friends continue to walk down the road.)

(and soon see a white building with a red round like roof.)

Tracey: "There, guys! That's the Mikan gym up ahead."

(Tracey says.)

Mew: "Sounds great,"

(Mew says.)

(Mew and the others walk ahead.)

(until Mew and Tomo stop in their tracks.)

(She turns to spot a coconut on the ground.)

Tomo: "Look Mew, a coconut,"

(Tomo says.)

Mew: "What's a coconut doing here?"

(Mew wonders.)

(Tomo turns to Mew.)

Tomo: "Can we take it?"

Mew: "I suppose, but what's a coconut doing here of all places?"

(Mew wonders.)

(Mew soon notices a string attached to the coconut.)

(Mew whispers to the others.)

Mew: "Guys, I think someone is trying to play a trick on us. I say we play one of our own."

(The group nods their heads.)

(Mew then brings out her Pokeball and lets out Haunter.)

(Mew whispers to Haunter on the plan.)

(Haunter lets out a chuckle.)

(Haunter follows the string up the tree to see a bucket of water.)

(He then makes himself invisible and moves the bucket.)

(Soon, Haunter notices a child behind a large palm tree close by.)

(He suspects it to be the prankster.)

(Haunter then places the bucket on top of the palm tree where the boy is hiding and heads back to Mew.)

(Haunter whispers it, making Mew chuckle.)

(Mew then approaches the coconut.)

Mew: "I say, let's crack the coconut and drink the milk."

(Mew then grabs the coconut and pulls it.)

(Suddenly, they hear a loud scream and a yelp.)

Misty: "Did anyone hear that?"

(Misty asks.)

Tracey: "I sure did,"

(Tracey says.)

(Just then, a boy with tan skin and dark brown spiked hair walks out.)

(of the bushes wearing soaked clothes: yellow shirt, green pants, and black boots.)

???: "Hey, what happened?!"

(The boy exclaims.)

Mew: "I suspected someone was playing a trick, so I've decided to pull one on you."

(Mew says.)

(Then crosses her arms.)

Mew: "And it's not a nice trick you play either."

???: "Well, you must be a good trainer to spy my trick like that. Where are you going?"

(The boy asks.)

Mew: "My friends and I are heading to the Mikan Gym so I can compete for a badge."

(Mew answers.)

???: "Well if you want to get in, you have to battle me."

(The boy says, holding his Pokeball.)

Mew: "I don't see why not. Get ready to have one."

(Mew says, holding her Pokeball.)

(Suddenly, a female voice asks.)

???: "Are you starting trouble again? You're supposed to be inside cleaning your room."

(The group look to see a grown woman with brown hair.)

(being held by a hairclip, black tank top, pink shorts, and white shoes.)

???: "Uh, I was, sissy. But then, I caught these kids sneaking around."

(The little boy says.)

Tomo: "Hey, that's not true!"

(Tomo shouts.)

Mew: "Easy Tomo,"

(Mew calmly says.)

(Then turns to the woman.)

Mew: "Sorry, but this boy tried to play a trick on us, but my Pokemon and I turned his trick against him. My name is Mew from Pallet Town. My friends and I were heading to the Mikan Gym so I could challenge one of the Orange Crew."

Cissy: "Oh, you did? Well, my name is Cissy, I'm the Mikan gym leader, and I accept your challenge! I like to see how the youngest champion of the Kanto Pokemon League can do."

(The woman Cissy says, with a calm and determined face.)

(This catches Mew and her friends by surprise.)

(to see she's the gym leader and actually knew Mew's name.)

(Tomo calmly says.)

Tomo: "I was expecting a guy trainer."

Misty: "I guess she beat all the guys,"

(Misty says.)

(Soon, Misty and Tomo notice Tracey drawing Cissy with his sketch pad.)

Tracey: "I need to make some observations."

(Tracey says.)

(Annoyed, Misty wonders.)

Misty: "Hey. Just what is it you're observing?"

(Soon, Mew and the others are inside the Mikan Gym.)

(and Mew is ready to battle against the Gym Leader.)

Cissy: "Well, since you're both such tough little squirts, let's use water Pokémon."

(Cissy says.)

Mew: "A squirt? I'm no squirt,"

(Mew comments and puffs her cheeks.)

(Misty giggles in reply as Pikachu and Eevee simply smile.)

(Soon, Cissy's little brother begins to taunt her.)

???: "Squirt! Squirt, squirt, squirt, squirt."

Cissy: "And you be quiet, cause you're an even littler squirt."

(Cissy says and pushes her little brother's head down to the side.)

Mew: "Okay then, so how many Pokemon do we each use to battle?"

(Mew asks.)

Cissy: "That's not the way we do things around here."

(Cissy says.)

Mew: "Really? Then, what do you do?"

(Mew asks.)

(Then Cissy explains.)

Cissy: "In the Orange Island gyms, we do a lot more than just have our Pokemon battle each other."

Mew: "Like what?"

(Mew wonders.)

Cissy: "You'll see what I mean. We'll decide each match with two challenges each."

(Cissy says.)

(Then turns to her younger brother.)

Cissy: "Hit it, Senta."

Senta: "Right,"

(The little brother, Senta says.)

(Senta presses a remote and a hatch opens to reveal a line of soda cans.)

Mew: "Hmm, so the cans are part of the first challenge?"

(Mew asks.)

Senta: "Wait and see,"

(Senta says.)

(He presses another button on the remote.)

(and activates another hatch to open, and reveals a large pool.)

Mew: "Wow. No wonder you say we need water Pokemon for this one."

(Mew says.)

Cissy: "Now let's get started."

(Cissy says.)

(Then throws her Pokeball and calls out.)

Cissy: "Seadra, I choose you!"

(With that, Seadra comes out of the Pokeball.)

Mew: "Seadra huh."

(Mew says, and remembers facing one before.)

(Then says.)

Mew: "It looks very strong. It looks like Seadra is raised well."

Cissy: "Why thank you,"

(Cissy says.)

(Then says.)

Cissy: "Like last time, let's start the match with a Water Gun challenge."

Mew: "A Water Gun Challenge? Like… we have our Pokemon use Water Gun or something?"

Cissy: "That's part of it."

(Cissy says.)

(Then explains.)

Cissy: "The trainers pick whichever Pokemon have the best Water Gun attacks, and compete against each other in a test. In my gym, the Pokemon compete like athletes do, using their skills head to head, one on one."

(Hearing that makes Mew and the others interested.)

(Even Togepi and Pichu are interested.)

(Then Cissy says.)

Cissy: "I think I'll let my Seadra warm up first."

(Senta then uses a small bubble blower to blow bubbles into the air.)

(giving Seadra some target practice.)

(Cissy calls out.)

Cissy: "Seadra, use Water Gun, now!"

(Seadra uses Water Gun and successfully pops all the bubbles.)

Cissy: "Not bad for our first try."

(Cissy says.)

(Seadra nods his head in reply.)

Tracey: "Interesting attack,"

(Tracey says.)

Tracey: "I never saw anything like it."

Cissy: "Well, now, why don't we get started? And pick the Pokémon that can knock over the most cans with its Water Gun."

(Cissy says.)

Mew: "Alright then."

(Mew says.)

Mew: "I choose you, Squirtle!"

(Then throws her Pokeball.)

Mew: "Arlight Squirtle, we're not doing a Pokemon Battle this time around, instead, we're doing a challenge. Make sure to give it your best shot."

(Mew says.)

Squirtle: "Squirtle," (Gotcha.)

(Squirtle says.)

Cissy: "I have to admit, that looks like a very good Squirtle you've got. Looks tough, but let's see how it uses its attack."

(Cissy says.)

(Then calls out to her Seadra.)

Cissy: "Water Gun, now!"

(Seadra then fires Water Gun and knocks down five cans.)

(Tracey is surprised.)

Tracey: "Whoa! Seadra hit every single one of them, dead center!"

Mew: "Do you think Squirtle can match Seadra?"

(Mew asks.)

Tomo: "I know Squirtle does."

(Tomo says.)

(Then Mew calls out.)

Mew: "Okay, Squirtle! Ready! Aim! Fire!"

(With that, Squirtle fires his Water Gun and hits five can too.)

Misty: "Squirtle's just as good!"

(Misty says.)

Tomo: "Squirtle's great."

(Tomo says.)

Tracey: "Maybe if my sketches are good enough, I can send them to Professor Oak and he can review them!"

(Tracey says.)

(Suddenly, Psyduck comes out of his Pokeball again.)

(Misty scolds him.)

Misty: "Psyduck, we don't need any headaches right now, so get back in your Pokéball!"

(Psyduck simply holds his head in reply.)

(Back on the field, Seadra uses Water Gun and knocks down three more cans.)

(Squirtle does the same, and knocks down three more as well.)

(Misty turns her head to notice Psyduck is bouncing the GS ball.)

(on his head and his foot like a soccer ball.)

(Misty quickly takes the GS ball away.)

Misty: "Psyduck, that GS Ball isn't a toy!

(grabs GS Ball.)

Misty: "Now get back in your Pokéball before I start bouncing you around!"

(On the battlefield, both Seadra and Squirtle fire their water guns.)

(at the same time and they both hit the last two cans from each of them.)

(Mew happily cheers.)

Mew: "Alright, Squirtle! Great job!"

Cissy: "Not too bad! Next, we'll try moving targets."

(Cissy says.)

(Then turns to Senta.)

Cissy: "Okay."

Senta: "Here they come!"

(Senta says, and presses the button on the remote.)

(With that, the gym's wall begins to open, revealing the view of the sea.)

(Mew and the others are amazed to see this.)

(Cissy turns to her Seadra.)

Cissy: "Well, Seadra, are you ready?"

(Seadra nods its head in reply.)

Cissy: "Fire,"

(Cissy says.)

Senta: "Okay!"

(Senta says.)

(Outside, a skeet machine fires a skeet disc and sends it flying into Seadra's view.)

(Seeing the target, Seadra fires it's Water Gun and shatters the skeet.)

Misty: "Good shot."

(Misty comments.)

Pikachu and Eevee: "Pika/Eev." (I'll say.)

(Pikachu and Eevee reply.)

Tomo: "Wow!"

(Tomo says, amazed.)

(Meloetta and Skwovet agree with a nod.)

Tracey: "Yeah. I'm trying to capture how Seadra looks just before it fires."

(Then Cissy calls out.)

Cissy: "Triple!"

(Three skeet discs are launched.)

(and Seadra destroys them all with Water Gun.)

(Mew and Squirtle are amazed by this.)

(Cissy turns to Mew.)

Cissy: "Now let's see Squirtle match that,"

Mew: "We'll sure try!"

(Mew says to Cissy.)

(Then turns to Squirtle.)

Mew: "Are you ready, Squirtle?"

Squirtle: "Squirtle Squirtle." (I sure am.)

(Squirtle says.)

(Then Mew calls out.)

Mew: "Let em fly!"

(With that, one skeet disc fires.)

(Squirtle uses Water Gun and destroys the disc.)

(Mew says.)

Mew: "Great! Now go for three!"

(Three more discs have been launched.)

(and Squirtle uses Water Gun to shatter them all.)

Mew: "Yeah!"

(Mew happily says.)

Squirtle: "Squirtle Squirtle!" (We sure showed them!)

(Squirtle says.)

Mew: "You did it, Squirtle!"

(Mew happily says.)

Squirtle: "Squirtle! (Sure did!)

(Squirtle says.)

Cissy: "Pretty good! Now we'll aim for the same target, and whoever hits it first wins the match."

(Cissy says.)

Mew: "A quick draw contest! Cool!"

(Mew says.)

Senta: "Everybody get ready, now!"

(Senta says.)

(Both Trainers and their Pokemon are ready to hit the target.)

(With that, the disc flies across the sky.)

(With that, Squritle and Seadra fire their Water Gun into the sky and shatter the disc.)

(Soon, everyone waits for the verdict.)

(Tracey is looking through the binoculars to see the result.)

Misty: "Well? Which one, you guys?"

(Misty asks.)

(Tracey lowers them down and says.)

Tracey: "They hit at the same time."

Cissy: "It looked that way to me, too! So this match is a draw!"

(Cissy says.)

Mew: "I agree,"

(Mew says.)

(Then kneels down to Squirtle.)

Mew: "You really did a great job, Squirtle. You really came through in this match."

Squirtle: "Squirtle Squirt!" (Thank you, Mew!)

(Squirtle says happily.)

(Senta walks to Cissy and asks.)

Senta: "Now what do we do?"

Cissy: "Don't you worry, little brother. Like last time, the way to break the tide is with a Pokemon Wave Ride."

(Cissy says.)

Mew: "Pokemon Wave Ride?"

(Mew says, confused and is actually interested.)

(A little bit later, Mew and her friends are outside on the beach.)

(with Cissy and Senta for the tie breaker of the gym match.)

Cissy: "Are you sure you're up for a Pokemon Wave Wide?"

(Cissy questions.)

Mew: "I'm ready, but what is a Pokemon Wave Ride?"

(Mew replies.)

(Cissy points to the flag put at sea.)

Cissy: "The Pokémon just have to swim around that flag and come back. Whoever gets back first, wins."

Mew: "Sounds cool to me, and this could be fun."

(Mew says.)

(Cissy then calls out.)

Cissy: "Blastoise, I choose you!"

(With that, Blastoise materializes out of the Pokeball.)

Mew: "Well then, I'll go with Lapras,"

(Mew says, and throws her Pokeball.)

(Mew walks to Lapras and asks.)

Mew: "Lapras, do you think we can win a little swimming race?"

(Lapras nods his head confidently.)

Mew: "Yeah! That's the spirit!"

(Mew says.)

Tracey: "Lapras is one of the strongest swimmers there is."

(Tracey says.)

Cissy: "Well, let's get started."

(Cissy says.)

(Senta then brings out a pop gun.)

Senta: "As soon as this goes off, the race will start."

(Cissy asks.)

Cissy: "Are you ready?"

Mew: "Ready!"

(Mew answers.)

(Suddenly, Team Rocket's Magikarp submarine surfaces.)

(and Team Rocket opens the hatch for fresh air.)

(Mew and her friends, Cissy and Senta are shocked.)

(and wonder what happened to them.)

(Cissy calls out.)

Cissy: "Do you guys need first aid?"

(Team Rocket notices they've been spotted, and quickly stand up.)

Jessie: Prepare for tropical trouble!

James: Make it desert-island double!

(Team Rocket continue rambling their motto.)

(as Mew and her friends look at them a bit well.)

(dumbfounded and not that interested.)

Misty: "It's the same thing every time."

(Misty says.)

Tomo: "They changed the first part a little bit."

(Tomo says.)

(Cissy turns to Mew and asks.)

Cissy: "Do you know what those people are talking about?"

Mew: "Not exactly, but we're kinda used to it by now."

(Mew answers.)

(Meanwhile, Team Rocket continues with their motto.)

Jessie: Jessie.

James: James.

Jessie: Team Rocket, blast off at the speed of light!

James: Surrender now, or prepare to fight, fight, fight.

Meowth: Meowth. That's right.

(Just then, James and Meowth break in tears.)

(as Jessie spreads her arms out in relief.)

(Then Jessie says.)

Jessie: "Oh, it's so good to breathe fresh air!"

James: "For a minute there, I thought we weren't going to make it!"

(James cries.)

(Meowth cries as well.)

Meowth: "Nine lives flashed before my eyes!"

(Confused Mew asks.)

Mew: "Um, okay… but what happened to you three? And why is James covered in seaweed?"

(James cries.)

James: "Do you know what we went through to get here?! Our sub got tangled in the seaweed so we decided one of us would have to swim out and untangle it!"

[Flashback...]

(In the sunken submarine.)

(Team Rocket are playing a game of Rock, Paper, Scissors to decide who is going to get the sub untangled.)

(Team Rocket chants.)

Team Rocket: "The odd thinker is it!"

(Soon, they select their 'weapon' persay.)

(Jessie and Meowth use Paper.)

(while James uses Rock.)

(Which means, James is ultimately chosen)

(Jessie and Meowth chant.)

Jessie and Meowth: "James goes! James goes! James goes!"

(Soon, James swims out of the submarine to fix the problem.)

James: (V.O.) "I volunteered to go outside and take a look."

(James pulls on the seaweed to break the submarine look.)

(Finally, he is able to free the submarine.)

(James then quickly swims back as the submarine floats back up to the surface.)

James: (V.O.) "I was able to free the sub, and then it just floated away! I started swimming as fast as I could, not knowing whether I'd make it to the surface in time or not!"

[Flashback Ends...]

(James sits down, feeling depressed.)

James: "It was like some awful made-for-tv movie."

(and begins to cry.)

(Then Meowth smacks James with a mallet.)

Meowth: "Quit your whining and get over yourself! Look over there!"

(And points to Lapras and Blastoise along with the others on the beach.)

Meowth: "We got a shot at a two for one deal!"

(Meowth adds.)

(James stands with his Pokeball.)

James: "You're right. I'll make this a touching story of personal triumph over personal tragedy. Weezing, go!"

(And throws his Pokeball.)

(With that, Weezing comes out of its Pokeball and spreads smoke in the area.)

(Then Jessie commands.)

Jessie: "Fire the net!"

(Then a rope launches with a Magikarp-like bait.)

(Then it explodes into a net, and catches Blastoise.)

(James realizes.)

James: "Oh no! The net's not big enough for both!"

Jessie: "We can always come back for a second helping!"

(Jessie says.)

(Team Rocket enters the sub, and dives under, taking Blastoise with them.)

(When the smoke clears, the group sees what is happening.)

Mew: "Hey! They're taking Blastoise!"

(Mew calls out.)

(Misty turns to Cissy.)

Misty: "Do something!"

Cissy: "I think Blastoise can handle those three,"

(Cissy says.)

(Down below in the water, the submarine continues to pull Blastoise farther under sea.)

(But soon, the sub isn't going forward.)

(Team Rocket tries to pedal with all their might, but none of them are budging.)

Jessie: "Something's wrong! We can't move forward!"

(Jessie says.)

Meowth: "The pedals won't budge!

James: "No! Not again! It can't be!"

(James says.)

(Outside, it turns out that the propeller has been jammed by seaweed.)

Jessie: "Let's all just push as hard as we can!"

(Jessie shouts.)

(Soon, the tactic fails and all the pedals break apart in the result.)

(Soon, the submarine and.)

James: "This is the end,"

(James says.)

Then Meowth says, "Guess we'll never get to blast off again."

(Soon, Jessie and James hug each other and cry.)

(Then Meowth has an idea.)

Meowth: "Hey! I know!"

Jessie: "Know what?"

(Jessie asks.)

James: "Do you have an idea?"

(James asks.)

(Meowth says.)

Meowth: "Whenever a car gets stuck in the mud or the snow and it won't move, all you have to do is get everybody out and push it. So why don't we all just swim outside and give this submarine a push?"

James and Jessie: "Good idea! It's worth a try!"

(James and Jessie say, liking the idea.)

(With that, Team Rocket leaves the submarine, and Blastoise notices them.)

(Using the chance to escape, Blastoise blasts itself to the surface.)

(pulling Team Rocket and the submarine with them.)

(Team Rocket hangs on to the submarine in shock.)

(and Blastoise is able to fly back to the surface and break the net off of it.)

(Then Blastoise lands on the beach.)

Misty: "You were right about Blastoise!"

(Misty happily says.)

Cissy: "Told you,"

(Cissy says.)

(Soon, Team Rocket feels tired from the ride and on the submarine.)

(James asks.)

James: "Why do I feel like the catch of the day?"

Jessie: "Cause the boss is gonna have us on a platter."

(Jessie says, feeling exhausted and out of breath.)

(Meowth gets up.)

Meowth: "Come on, we can still get two Pokemon on the half-shell!"

(James and Jessie get up too.)

Mew: "Those guys never learn."

(Mew says.)

Eevee: "Eevee," (No kidding.)

(Eevee says.)

(Then Mew turns to her Pokemon.)

Mew: "Pikachu! Eevee! Go!"

(Pikachu and Eevee dip their tails in the water and use their Thunderbolt attack.)

(and give them a shock.)

(Then Blastoie fires a Hydro Pump at the sub, sending them blasting off once again.)

(Team Rocket screams.)

Team Rocket: "Looks like Team Rocket's blasting off again!"

(Soon, Team Rocket is gone.)

Tomo: "Wow. Blastoise sent them far,"

(Tomo says.)

Misty: "Yeah,"

(Misty says.)

(Mew turns to Cissy.)

Mew: "Well, now that we got Team Rocket out of the way…"

Cissy: "Let's start the race,"

(Cissy says.)

(Then turns to her Blastoise.)

Cissy: "Are you ready?"

(Blastoise confirms.)

(Mew turns to Lapras.)

Mew: "Get out there and do your best, Lapras."

(Lapras nods.)

(Soon Cissy says.)

Cissy: "Well, get on."

(Mew and Lapras turn to see Cissy is on Blastoise.)

(And Cissy says.)

Cissy: "The trainer stands on the Pokemon in wave rides."

(Mew and Lapras look at each other and are surprised.)

(Moments later, Mew is standing on Lapras' back and is perfectly balanced.)

Tracey: "This looks dangerous, Mew!"

(Tracey says.)

(Misty calls out.)

Misty: "Maybe you should forget it!"

Mew: "Don't worry, guys! I've been riding on Pokemon at the river and the lake."

(Mew says.)

(Cissy turns to Mew and asks.)

Cissy: "Are you sure you don't want to quit before you get beaten?"

Mew: "Ha! I'm a winner, not a quitter!"

(Mew says, with excitement.)

Senta: "Ready!"

(Senta says.)

(Mew and Cissy are ready to race.)

(Then Senta fires the pop gun.)

Senta: "Go!"

(With that, Cissy and Mew begin racing on Blastoise and Lapras.)

(Senta shouts.)

Senta: "Let's go, Cissy!"

Misty: "You can beat her!"

(Misty calls out.)

(Then Tomo calls out.)

Tomo: "Go Mew!"

(The Pokemon also cheer with excitement.)

(Out on the water, Cissy and Mew are balancing very well on their Pokemon and are racing the flag.)

(Mew calls out.)

Mew: "Okay, Lapras, try to move over to the inside!"

Cissy: "Don't let her go there, Blastoise!"

(Cissy calls out.)

(Lapras and Blastoise collide with one another.)

(as they try to move to the inside lane.)

(On the beach Senta calls out.)

Senta: "Go, Cissy!"

Tracey: "Whoa! Blastoise almost knocked Mew off!"

(Tracey says, looking through the binoculars.)

Misty: "And Lapras isn't as strong as Blastoise!"

(Misty says.)

(Mew calls out to Lapras.)

Mew: "Try for the inside again!"

(Lapras does so, but Blastoise shoves back, and Lapras returns.)

(Soon, the two begin to bash one another.)

Cissy: "You've got a lot of guts, but we've got strength! Bash em, Blastoise!"

(Cissy says.)

(Blastoise makes a hard bash on Lapras side and nearly knocks Mew off into the ocean.)

Misty: "she's falling!"

(Misty panics.)

Pikachu: "Pika!" (Oh no!)

(Pikachu cries out.)

(Mew almost falls into the water, but Lapras is able to catch her.)

Mew: "Thanks, Lapras. Nice catch."

(Mew says.)

(Lapras places Mew back on the shell.)

(Cissy is able to zoom ahead and around the flag.)

(but Mew and Lapras are closing in.)

Mew: "Okay, Lapras, let's go for it!"

(Mew calls out, and Lapras picks up speed.)

(Now the two racers are racing neck and neck to the finish line.)

(On the beach Tracey shouts.)

Tracey: "You can do it!"

Misty: "Come on, Mew!"

(Misty calls out.)

Tomo: "Go Mew! Go Lapras!

(Tomo calls out.)

Pikachu: "Pika!" (Let's go!)

(Pikachu says.)

Eevee: "Eevee!" (You can beat her!)

(Eevee calls out.)

(Then Senta calls out.)

Senta: "Don't let him beat ya!"

(Soon enough, the race continues and is closing in.)

Cissy: "You're better than I thought you'd be!"

(Cissy says.)

Mew: "And so are you!"

(Mew says.)

(Just then, they hear a noise and turns around to see a tidal wave comes up from behind them)

(Tomo cries out.)

Tomo: "A tidal wave!"

Misty: "Look out!"

(Misty calls out.)

(Senta cries out.)

Senta: "Oh no!"

(Just as the tidal wave is closing in on them.)

(Lapras turns towards the wave and fires a powerful Beam, causing the wave to freeze into ice.)

Mew: "That's an Ice Beam!"

(Mew says, surprised.)

(However, part of the title wave is coming towards Cissy, sending her and Blastoise flying.)

(Senta cries out.)

Senta: "CISSY!"

(Cissy calls out.)

Cissy: "Blastoise!"

(Blastoise dives down and soon saves its trainer just in time.)

Cissy: "You saved me, Blastoise!"

(Cissy says, relieved.)

(Senta cheers.)

Senta: "Say to go, Blastoise!"

Misty: "She really has that Blastoise trained!"

(Misty says.)

Tracey: "She's great!"

(Tracey says.)

Tomo: "Yeah, but Lapras was great too,"

(Tomo says.)

(Cissy turns to Blastoise.)

Cissy: "Come on, Blastoise, let's catch up!"

(Blastoise picks up speed and soon passes Lapras.)

(Cissy says.)

Cissy: "See you at the finish line!"

(Just then, Mew has an idea.)

Mew: "I have an idea! Aim an Ice Beam straight to the shore!"

(Lapras then fires another Ice Beam and creates a slide on the ice.)

Mew: "Okay, Lapras, let's get on top of the ice!"

(Mew says.)

(Lapras then hops on the ice, and begins to slide forward.)

(The others are amazing,)

(Pikachu and Eevee cheer.)

Pikachu and Eevee: "Pika! Eevee!" (Alright!)

Misty: "You think Lapras is faster on ice than it is in water?"

(Misty wonders.)

Tracey: "We'll find out now!"

(Tracey says.)

(Then Tomo notices.)

Tomo: "Looks like it's working.

(Soon, Lapras is soon catching up with Blastoise.)

Mew: "This battle isn't over yet!"

(Mew says.)

(Pikachu and Eevee cheer.)

Pikachu and Eevee: "Pika Pi! /Eevee Eev!" (Mew!)

Misty: "Come on, Mew! You can beat her!"

(Misty calls out.)

Tomo: "You go, sis!"

(Tomo calls out.)

(Senta calls out.)

Senta: "Don't let her win!"

(Mew and Cissy continue to race the Pokemon.)

(Mew and Lapras are determined.)

(Cissy and Blastoise continue to hang on.)

(And soon enough, they speed past the finish line.)

(and it shows that Lapras is the victor.)

(Everyone is surprised.)

(Soon, Lapras comes to a screeching halt on the shore.)

(and Mew is pushed forward on the back of Lapras' head.)

(Mew laughs and says.)

Mew: "We did it, Lapras! We won!"

(Just then, Pikachu calls out.)

Pikachu: "Pika Pi!" (Mew!)

(Eevee happily says.)

Eevee: "Eevee!" (Mew!)

(Mew turns to see Pikachu and Eevee hurry over and run over as they climb on her shoulders.)

Mew: "Pikachu! Eevee!"

(Mew happily says.)

(She laughs and says.)

Mew: "I guess we won it."

(Cissy walks over and says.)

Cissy: "Well, it was a great race. And it was pretty smart of you to use Lapras' Ice Beam to freeze the water."

Senta: "Yeah, that was the coolest!"

(Senta agrees.)

(Mew climbs down from Lapras and lands on the beach.)

(Cissy approaches Mew.)

Cissy: "I can see why you won the Indigo League, and I bet you'll both do pretty well in the Orange League, too. This is the Coral-Eye badge of the Mikan gym, proof that you won your match."

(Then presents the badge to Mew.)

(Mew takes the badge to see that this badge is shaped like a pink tellins shell with a small blue gemstone on it.)

Mew: "It looks like a shell."

(Mew says, amazed.)

Cissy: "Yes. All the badges from the Orange League gyms badge are shells."

(Cissy says.)

Mew: "Thanks Cissy,"

(Mew says.)

(Then turns to her Pokemon.)

Mew: "Look guys, we won the Coral-Eye Badge."

Pikachu: "Pi Pikachu!" (That's Badge number one!)

(Pikachu says.)

Eevee: "Eevee Eevee!" (And we need three more to go!)

(Eevee says.)

Tracey: "That was great Mew!"

(Tracey says.)

Misty: "Yeah, but she didn't do it by herself. Right, Lapras?"

(Misty replies, turning to Lapras.)

(Lapras nods his head.)

(Tomo laughs.)

Tomo: "Even Mew knows that."

(Later in the evening.)

(Mew and her friends are now riding on Lapras to another part of their journey.)

(Misty looks at the badge and says.)

Misty: "I wish I had a cool badge like that. I should've challenged her myself."

Mew: "I think you can do it, but you have to be tough to beat Cissy."

(Mew says.)

(Misty giggles.)

Misty: "You're right about that, she is tough.

Tracey: "Glad to see that we're all happy that we got to see such a great trainer in action."

(Tracey says.)

(Misty looks and sees Tracey is sketching Cissy on her Blastoise.)

Misty: "I thought you were supposed to be a Pokemon Watcher."

(Misty points out.)

(Tracey soon realizes what Misty means.)

Tracey: "Oh yeah."

(Soon everyone begins laughing.)

(And so, Mew has won her first Orange Island Badge.)

(and are on their way to another part of their journey.)

(Mew has to wonder what new opponents she'll meet.)

(what kind of gym leader and challenges are there?)

(And how tough will it be?)

(Right now, Mew and her friends will continue on their adventure through Orange Island.)
