Chapter 37: Yakon
"Hell, I didn't think anyone could hide in such a cold place!" Yakon said with annoyance looking at the team plasma.
"You guys catch these thieves of pokemon!" Yakon ordered the workers next to him.
"Yes sir!!" they all said seriously and then took the recruits of the team plasma and the sage.
"You don't know what you're getting into, I'm someone with a lot of power!" said the sage trying to escape.
"Power? This is my city and the only one who has power is me" Yakon said looking at the sage with intensity and making him close his mouth.
After this, Yakon approached Touya and Cheren and said.
"You are stronger than I thought, the promise is due if you want to challenge me I will be waiting for you in the gym, although it will have to be tomorrow since it is dark" Yakon said with a small smile.
"By the way, if you ever need work, you can call me" Yakon said giving each one a card and then leaving.
"I'm not enough crazy for work for him" Touya said putting the card deep in his bag.
"And then why are you keeping the card?" Cheren asked curiously.
"You never know what the future holds for, and someone so powerful's card is not seen every day" Touya said thoughtfully and then realized.
"Cheren, go now, if I spend more time with you I'll have to wear glasses" Touya said, walking away from Cheren.
"Yeah, your sarcastic jokes are sticking to me too" Cheren said moving away from Touya as well.
They both went to the pokemon center to heal their pokemon and rest until the next day.
The next morning, Dewott had to wake up Touya with water again, before going to the gym in Driftveil city.
Cheren woke up a little earlier and walked ahead of the gym.
Touya walked towards the gym with Dewott walking beside him
"If I'm not mistaken, the next gym is earth type, so you will be the star this time" Touya said a little tired still.
"De Dewott!" Dewott said excited to fight.
They both walked a bit more until they reached the gym where there was a tense scene.
Touya approached Cheren and looked at those in front of him seriously.
In front of them was Ghechis, along with many recruits from the team plasma talking to Yakon who was next to the sage from yesterday with his arms crossed.
"A pleasure to meet you Mr. Yakon, my name is Ghechis leader of the team plasma's sages, and I would like to know if you can give me back to my companions" Ghechis said with a respectful tone.
"Oh no, don't thank me, but apparently your teammates steal pokemon so there's not much I can do" Yakon said also with a respectful and calm tone.
"I'm afraid there has been a serious misunderstanding, we are dedicated to freeing the pokemon that have fallen into the wrong hands" said Ghechis with a respectful and kind tone.
"No, what I saw is that they steal pokemon and nothing else" said Yakon changing his face to a totally serious one.
"Do you want to stop with your little speeches? I am a businessman and I know when there is a scammer in front of me, and you look more fake than a 3 dollar bill" Yakon said with an annoyed and irritated tone.
"Or tell me, how would you call what I just said?" Yakon said seriously.
"Wow, I couldn't expect less from a gym leader" Ghechis said with an arrogant and unpleasant smile.
"You see, I am interested in this city you know, and I have many more recruits than you see" Ghechis said smiling widely and pointing at the recruits behind him.
"I'm not sure if what you say is true, but for now I will give you the victory" Yakon said and then took the sage by the arm and threw him at Ghechis roughly.
Ghechis let the sage fall and said.
"I expected no less from the so-called king of the mine, always analyzing the situation quickly" Ghechis said arrogantly and then left together with the team plasma.
"As for you, we'll meet later" Ghechis said looking at Cheren and Touya seriously.
They both frowned at this and just let it go.
After this Cheren approached Yakon and asked him.
"Why did you let them go? I'm sure you would have been able to beat them" Cheren asked a bit annoyed.
"It's not just that brat, we're in the middle of the street and we could hurt someone" Yakon said seriously.
"Besides, I believe my instincts, and I'm sure I would have lost that battle" Yakon said quietly as his hat covered his eyes.
"I'll be waiting for you inside the gym" Yakon said seriously before leaving.
"Is that guy Ghechis really that strong?" Cheren asked in shock.
"That time in Castella city, he was about to take the pokemon out and for some reason, I knew that I would not be able to win with any method" Touya said seriously and a little afraid.
"Fighting with that guy, it's like looking despair in the eyes, it's really scary" Touya said seriously and sweating a bit.
"This problem is getting bigger and bigger" said Cheren realizing the seriousness of the matter.
After a few seconds of thinking, Cheren said.
"I have some things to do, you should go to the gym first" Cheren said thoughtfully.
"Well see ya dude, if you see those idiots give me a call, it's always fun to kick their butts together" Touya said raising his fist.
"Count on me" said Cheren bumping fists with Touya and then leaving.
After this, Touya entered the gym and prepared to get the next badge.
