Chapter 61: Route 8 and the battle against Bel: Part 2
Touya and Bel got ready and thought about their next move, kicking off the fight.
"Simisage use Shadow Claw" Bel said quickly.
"Darmanitan use psychic and then flamethrower" Touya said as Simisage approached.
Simisage formed purple claws from his hands as he approached Darmanitan who only used psychic and did great damage to Simisage before using flamethrower.
"Simisage use protection and then torment" Bel said noticing that Simisage seemed a bit stunned by the psychic.
Simisage protected himself with an invisible barrier and then tormented Darmanitan making him unable to use flamethrower again.
"Darmanitan keep using psychic until he is beaten" said Touya who seemed a bit uncomfortable with the lack of attacks of the Daruma mode.
"Simisage use fling then you know what to do" Bel said confidently noticing Touya's discomfort.
Simisage grabbed a rock from the ground and threw it hard at Darmanitan, doing little damage but pulling him out of his still unstable concentration.
Following this, Simisage approached Darmanitan and wrapped his tongue around him, doing some good damage and pulling him out of Daruma mode.
"This is much better" Touya said smiling with confidence and comfort just like Darmanitan.
"Darmanitan use Flare Blitz!" Touya said with a big excited smile.
"Darmanitan!" Darmanitan said excitedly covering his body with fire.
Simisage had to let go of Darmanitan due to this and received a large onslaught from him, crashing him to the ground and knocking him out of action.
"Good job mate, I expected no less" Bel said returning Simisage to his pokeball with a calm smile.
"Apparently the Daruma mode requires a lot of concentration, how long will those Darmanitan of the Relic castle have been in that form? Are there requirements or can any Darmanitan do it? Ahhhh there are so many questions!" Bel said quickly writing in her notebook with excitement and causing Darmanitan and Touya to have a drop of sweat on the back of their heads.
Touya just waited for Bel to finish writing calmly, so that after a few seconds she would finish.
"There's a lot to investigate coming back, can't wait!" Bel said with an excited smile.
"I'm glad you like your job so much, I probably don't want to work at whatever I choose" Touya said with a bit of laziness.
"That's because you still don't know what you like, but it doesn't matter, come out Emboar!" Bel said taking out the final evolution of Tepig, which was a great fighting-looking boar of 1.60 meters and that when he fell he raised a great cloud of dust due to his weight.
"I've seen it before but what happened to that little pig?" Touya said seeing Tepig's great change with evolution.
"And you say so? Samurott had two giant swords!" Bel said in shock remembering Samurott's three foot swords.
"Yes, you're right" Touya said with understanding to then start the fight.
"Emboar use flame charge" Bel said seriously and concentrated.
"Darmanitan use fire punch and stop him" Touya said as Emboar quickly approached.
Emboar covered his body in small flames and approached Darmanitan faster and faster, being stopped by Darmanitan with his fists covered with fire as they pushed each other.
"Emboar use flamethrower" Bel said quickly when noticing that Emboar was retreating thanks to the enormous strength of Darmanitan.
Emboar released flames from his mouth causing Darmanitan to take some damage to which Touya quickly responded.
"Darmanitan use hammer arm and throw him away, then use flare blitz" Touya said upon noticing Darmanitan's situation.
Darmanitan nodded at this and made more strength in his arms before breaking free from Emboar and hitting him hard in the stomach throwing him away.
"Emboar use rollout and dodge with flame charge if necessary" Bel said seriously, noticing Darmanitan's strength as he approached.
Emboar plunged his hands into the ground and unrolled a large part of it towards Darmanitan, which destroyed the attack with barely any damage before being dodged by Emboar who was now over the lake on Route 8.
Touya noticed Darmanitan's great fatigue and decided to give it his all in one last attack.
"Emboar use work up and then flare blitz" Bel told Emboar who quickly complied with the order and ran towards Darmanitan.
"Darmanitan finish him off with your last attack, use belly drum and then flare blitz" Touya said quickly making Darmanitan fill with determination.
Darmanitan hit his stomach with force, improving his digestion and making his strength reach the maximum by covering himself with a very dense vapor and then running towards Darmanitan with great momentum.
Both pokemon collided with each other creating a large earthquake and causing the water below them to evaporate completely, making the result not visible.
As the steam dispersed, Emboar and Darmanitan were out of action, the latter looking badly wounded.
"I'm sorry I forced you so much friend" Touya said a little sorry and healing Darmanitan from his burns and then returning him to his pokeball.
"You did a great job Emboar" Bel said with a big smile returning Emboar to his pokeball.
Touya took a pokeball from his bag and hurriedly threw it.
"It's your turn Krokorok" Touya said as he threw a pokeball from which Krokorok came out adjusting his glasses with excitement.
"It will be difficult, but only you remains Musharna!" Bel said a little worried throwing a pokeball too.
From this came the evolution of Munna, which was a little bigger and purple in color, in addition to releasing very dense dream fume from her mouth while she floated.
"Musharna use reflect and then swift" Bel said quickly coming up with a plan.
"Krokorok dodge it with digging and then you know what to do" Touya said with a bit of nervous sweat.
Musharna covered himself with a transparent barrier and threw some stars that followed Krokorok directly, who dodged them by digging underground and getting close to Musharna.
"Watch out Musharna" Bel said in a warning tone upon noticing Krokorok's disappearance.
Suddenly, Krokorok used bulldoze on the ground throwing a large rock towards Musharna just like that time with Gerania although said rock did not do much damage due to the reflect.
"Krokorok use scary face then crunch" Touya said making Krokorok jump off the ground quickly.
Krokorok looked directly at Musharna and caused her to panic a bit and then run towards her and try to bite her.
But to the surprise of Touya and Krokorok, Musharna dodged the attack with ease.
"Musharna use energy ball" Bel said with a confident smile.
Musharna created a green colored sphere that hit Krokorok with force doing great damage and throwing him somewhat far into the water.
"That is Musharna's ability, forewarn, your strongest ability is very easy to dodge, although it only works with the first pokemon she see" Bel said with an explanatory tone and a proud smile.
"I see, but you shouldn't explain your abilities to your opponent Bel" Touya said with blank eyes in shock.
"Buahhhh! That's right! But you did the same with Daruma mode!" Bel said realizing her mistake quickly and then pointing at a nervous Touya.
Krokorok slowly got up from the ground and looked at Touya for a plan.
"You can friend! We have come out of more difficult situations, haven't we?" Touya told Krokorok with an excited smile.
Krokorok smiled with the same emotion as Touya and adjusted his glasses to then cover himself with a blue aura and change shape.
"Hey, that's cheating!" Bel said throwing a little tantrum when noticing Krokorok's evolution.
"Anything goes in love and pokemon battles" Touya said shrugging with a smile.
Krokorok finished his evolution and now he was 1.50 meters tall as well as a large jaw, a more menacing appearance and changing his skin to a dark red color.
"Krookodile!!" Krookodile roared with excitement from combat.
Touya pointed his Pokedex at Krookodile to receive information and saw that Krookodile had learned a new move.
"Krookodile use bulldoze to push yourself towards Musharna" Touya said quickly with much emotion.
"Musharna use energy ball again" Bel said also excited by the fight.
Krookodile lunged toward Musharna with bulldoze, then did it again, dodging the energy ball with ease as he approached Musharna.
"Musharna use protection" Bel said seriously noticing Krookodile's closeness.
"Krookodile use dig and end the battle with foul play" Touya said quickly using the new attack.
Musharna created a sturdy barrier in front of her to ward off Krookodile's attack, which dug very quickly underground and appeared behind Musharna in less than a second, then struck her with his fist covered in dark energy and knocked her out.
"We won!" Touya said happily upon noticing Krookodile's victory.
"Krookodile" Krookodile said very tired and falling to the ground almost weakened.
Noticing this, Touya returned him to his pokeball and walked over to Bel to speak.
"Ahhhh! We were very close, I guess we can't all be strong" Bel said a little downcast from her defeat as she returned Musharna to her pokeball.
"Are you kidding me? It's the closest I've been to a defeat, you've gotten very strong Bel" Touya said very proud when noticing Bel's strength.
Bel still looked a bit sad as she covered her face with her beret, so Touya used her ability to read people quickly finding the problem.
"Miss, don't tell me that you have admiration for me" Touya said in shock after looking at Bel for a moment.
"N-no, I-I mean yes, I mean" Bel said a little embarrassed as she looked away.
"So that's why, I tell you the truth if you had beaten me it would have been very weird" Touya said making Bel look at him in confusion.
"Let me explain, if you beat me you would show that you are better than me being me, but without being yourself" Touya said touching Bel's nose with her index finger.
Bel seemed to think a bit about Touya's words and widened her eyes in shock at understanding.
"Bel, you're great yourself, maybe that's why I won, you still have to find your own fighting style, you're already very close after all" Touya said with a calm smile patting Bel on the head.
Bel looked at Touya understanding his words and shed some tears and then hugged him tightly.
"Buahhhh! I'm sorry Touya *Sniff*, I can't help you!" Bel said hugging Touya with strength and helplessness for not being able to help him with his problem.
"It is not necessary, believe it or not, with your support and being here is enough for me" Touya said smiling slightly as he returned the hug.
And so ends the battle against Bel.

Grim_Jester In the English version, Daruma mode is called Zen mode and I don't know why, I mean, Daruma mode represents the Darumas of the Japanese culture, so I don't know why they just called it Zen mode, well it looks Zen but it looks more Daruma right?
