And so, the two of us stare unto the tower, having some slight conversations with each other. According to Eusine, the people of Ecruteak had the capability to wish upon Ho-Oh. However, after being engulfed by the flames, the connection between the people and Ho-Oh has been cut, and only through the rainbow wing could Ho-Oh descend once more in order to fulfill a person's wish.
After having enough of staring, Eusine leads me to the indoors of the tower. It has rough floorings, dilapidated wood, and the smell of smoke-stained on the walls scented throughout. I had to cover my nostrils since I am asthmatic. Inside, I watch my steps cautiously, hoping I would not fall to its depths.
Below the tower is a basement that I fear to fall to. I could see a silhouette of a Pokemon, however, I did not notice it or whatsoever. We continue our stroll, and that is when Eusine and I see a strange bald man, wearing an outfit of a black belter.
"Greetings." The old bald man bows as a sign of gesture.
"What is your purpose here? I am an ascetic sage of the Bell Tower."
"Nothing really. The two of us just wanted to learn more about Ho-Oh and the three Pokemons which were reborn from the ashes of the flames that once engulfed the tower." Eusine explains, shaking the hands of the sage. Sages are usually known as monks. They are very religious.
"Ah, I see. Curious minds the both of you have. If you wish to know more, then I will glad-"
"Sir Eusine! Sir Eusine!" A young woman who seems to be gasping for air, cuts the words of the wise sage. Beside her, is a familiar young man. They both rush towards our direction with sweat falling off their faces.
"Ah, Kris. It's been a long time since I've last seen you back in New Bark Town. I want you to meet Luna, she's with me today." Eusine introduces.
Kris, so that's her name. She has blue eyes and her hair is navy blue. She wears a white jacket, and a redshirt on the inside. She wears shorts of black with stripes of gold.
"My name is Kris, and this right here is my partner Pokemon, Togepi. I was a little late when I got my starter Pokemon, and when I arrived in the laboratory, all three starters were already taken! Leaving me with Togepi left." Kris introduces, shaking my hands and smiling gladly.
"Hey! I know you. You're the agent from Team Rocket!" Aside from Kris, is Ethan again, the person who was running beside Kris.
"You again?" I utter with a pouty face.
"Wait, you are a member of the infamous Team Rocket?!" Eusine starts to become cautious.
"What?! Me, I was a former member of that organization." I excuse, smiling the smile of a crocodile.
"That's a complete lie-"
"Listen here, I'm off duty so better keep quiet. Let's have a truce." I cut his words again, whispering to his ears. His sighs afterward, listening to my words.
"Just this once." He whispers back.
"A former member? Wow, you must've changed. Right, Ethan?"
"Yes. Absolutely." Ethan replies sarcastically to Kris's question.
"You see, Kris and Ethan are best friends and at the same time, they're rivals. They're both participating at the Indigo League." Eusine introduces further.
"About you Luna? Are you going to participate in the Indigo League?" Kris queries.
"Me? No, I'm not a trainer."
"Yes, she isn't." Ethan concurs sarcastically, looking at me with a pouty face.
"If you're not a trainer then what are you, Luna?"
"Me? I'd rather not talk."
"Oh come on Luna, why don't you tell us a thing or two about you? Unless you're trying to hide something from us?" Ethan says sarcastically again, enraging me in the inside. I have no mood to battle now, since I am off duty. I'll just have to let this pass for now.
"Now, now, enough with the argument. I'm pretty sure that Luna does not want to talk for a reason, so let her be. Anyways, heading back to the topic. Me and Luna were just asking a sage about the myth of Ho-Oh and the three beasts that ascended from the flames.
I'm pretty sure I've told Kris and Ethan about the story regarding the flames that engulfed the tower back in new Bark Town." Eusine interrupts and quells the rising argument between me and Ethan.
"The three Pokemons that ascended from the flames, brought back to life by the legendary Ho-Oh were no other than Raikou, Entei, and Suicune.
Raikou represents the bolt of lightning that struck the tower. Entei is the flame that engulfed the tower, and Suicune is the rain that quelled and extinguished the fire. If it wasn't for Ho-oh, the three perished Pokemons would remain ashes forever.
Their locations are unknown, but I've heard there have been sightings of Raikou within the city." The sage explains, revealing the names of the three Pokemons. Raikou, Entei, Suicune, their names astound me. I have this sudden urge to meet them personally.
"Raikou in the city?! It will be the perfect Pokemon for my team." Ethan beams with exuberance.
"Is everything about you catching Pokemons? Raikou is a legendary, your Pokemons don't stand a chance against it." Kris counters. Me, I remain neutral, just watching the two of them argue over Raikou.
"Hehe, both of them are frienemies don't you think? Ethan wants to become a Pokemon Master one day as for Kris? She wants to excel in Pokemon ecology. She has a dream to become one of Johto's famous ecologists." Ethan chuckles, watching them with me.
"About you Luna? Do you have a dream as well?"
"M... Me? I'm not quite sure if I have the answer to your question. I don't want to become a Pokemon Master, nor do I have the wish to become wealthy or powerful. I know for a fact that there is not enough money on Earth that could satisfy one's greed. I'm just... me."
"I see, I know you'll find what you want to become one day," Eusine utters, rubbing my hair gently.
I then step one of my feet forward, and from that moment, I wish I did not. I've accidentally stepped on a dilapidated wood, causing me to fall to the basement. Kris tried to reach for my hand, however, she was an inch short. I continue to fall, watching the rough flooring beneath me.
Information about sages was from bulbapedia too! Kris and Ethan are both from the anime, games, and the Pokemon Adventures manga.
All at once, my foot ceases to travel forwards and the scenery starts to blur like a poorly shot action photograph. The colors swirl and blend as my head becomes tilted toward the forest floor. The expected thump of the ground doesn't come and instead I'm still falling. I feel the wind, trying to carry me, but it is too soft and brittle.
Death extends it reaper, pointing it towards me as I continuously fall to the basement of the bell tower. My heart skips a beat or two, panicking on the inside. My mind is afraid, it has been given no time to prepare for death.
Out of nowhere, I hear the sounds of a wind, moving rapidly. Something jolting towards me perhaps? Instead of landing on the floor filled with sharp dilapidated woods that could pierce my skin, I land on a fur of a fluffy creature. My eyes flinch, and my hands touch the skin of the Pokemon. Primarily, it has yellow fur with black stripes on it. It has a thin, light blue tail with sharp angles and a spark-shaped formation at the end. Most of its face consists of thick, white fur and shorter yellow fur around its red eyes.
In a blink of an eye, the Pokemon ascends upwards, placing me down afterward. Seeing the Pokemon, everyone flinched. No, no one dared to make a move nor to emit any sound at all. Time is completely frozen. The beast places me down from its back and stares at me majestically. I stare back, intimidated by its looks.
"Raikou." The sage murmurs the Pokemon's name.
"Unbelievable. It... It saved Luna." Eusine is in complete awe, his eyes are mesmerized by the Pokemon.
Seeing the Pokemon, I feel happy and thankful. I extend my hand, slowly placing it on its forehead. My hand hasn't even reached Raikou's forehead, and it has made the decision to push its head to my hand instead. It allows me to pet it, despite being more superior than me.
"It is a rare occasion for Raikou to show its appearance. Perhaps it is somehow attracted to you." The sage assumes.
"Why? Why would it be attracted to me?" I query while rubbing its fur.
"I do not have a single clue, however, there is a legend pertaining to such a rare occasion. According to the books of old, stored in the archives of Ecruteak, the three beasts would show their appearance and save one's life only if they are interested in him or her.
They usually watch the person secretly. The legend also says something about the duty of the three beasts. It seeks for those who are worthy of the rainbow wing. Anyhow, I'm probably making up things since I couldn't remember the full legend of the rainbow ring. Just, be happy that Raikou is interested in you." The old sage explains.
"I wish I could cuddle it too. You're a very lucky woman Luna." Kris says, wishing to be me instead.
<Rai!> The Pokemon shrieks loudly, irking our ears to the point it surpasses our threshold. It then leaps to the sky, through the gap of the tower. It leaves me and the rest of us alone. I wish I could meet Raikou once more. That would be an amazing experience for me.
While cuddling Raikou, my emotions totally glitched! Should I be happy? Excited? Eager? I don't know, perhaps a mixture of all three! Ah, Raikou is truly astounding, very majestic indeed. It soars like a lightning bolt through the sky, never to be seen for now. One day, I'm sure and it would meet again.
After experiencing such a thing, the four of us finally part ways. I return to the tea-shop, couldn't wait to tell Virgo and Charlotte the news! Eusine remains in the tower, inspecting its surroundings. As for the rivals slash best friends, they proceed to the gym of Ecruteak. If I'm not mistaken, Kris told me that the gym leader is Morty, a ghost specialist.
"Virgo! Charlotte!" I dash to them, disturbing their peaceful time. Charlotte was talking to Cliff through her Ipad, while Virgo was innocently reading a book with her Teddiursa and Slowpoke.
"Luna? Back so soon?" Charlotte giggles after seeing me.
"You can't believe what I've just seen, Raikou! It saved my life." I explain rapidly.
"Raikou?!" The three of them exclaim. Yes, even Cliff heard my voice.
"Yes! I was in the bell tower, then I met this guy who is somewhat like a historian and then-"
"Luna, calm down." Virgo bids.
"Right, right. Anyways, the point is, I met Raikou! I flew on its back after falling to the basement of the tower." I calm down, explaining my words in a much slower way.
"You're one lucky woman. I wish I could've met Raikou too." Virgo becomes jealous, wishing that she was me.
"And not only that, I met Ethan back in the tower."
"Really? So who won?" Charlotte questions, eager to know the answer.
"Well, hehe. I've asked him to have a truce with me."
"A truce?! That was your opportunity to kick his guts and you called for a truce?!" Charlotte becomes frustrated.
"I'm off duty anyways, but the next time I see him, I'll surely challenge him to a battle."
On the kitchen of the tea-house, little do I know that the Kimono-girls were eavesdropping me. Hearing my words about me seeing Raikou, it has put a smile on their faces all of a sudden.
"Raikou eh?" One of them chuckles then continues with her work.
Overall, my journey in this city was amazing and thrilling. I never knew that I would be meeting a legendary Pokemon today. If only I could, I would revert the time in order to see Raikou and feel its majestic presence once more.
