Machop ran over and looked at Ace with starry eyes, "Machop! Machop!" Ace took his hand back, squatting down as he rubbed Machop's face, "One day, you'll be able to do the same thing." Machop cheered and Ace smiled at him.
Cynthia looked over at the Machop, "Is he…?" Ace shook his head and smiled, "I didn't catch him. I'm just teaching him." Cynthia looked at the Machop and smiled, "I didn't know you were a Teacher?" Ace rolled his eyes and ignored her, leading Machop over to the Meteorites.
Machop pointed at the Meteorite, then himself in confusion.
Ace looked at the Meteorite and grabbed it with both hands, lifting it up. Machop's eyes bulged and Ace turned to him, grinning. Machop had a bad feeling and sure enough, the next second Machop was holding the Meteorite on his back, walking forward while shaking.
Ace waved a fist, "Come on, Machop!" Machop groaned and looked over, seeing Ace walking normally while holding a Meteorite three times the size of his with one hand. Machop nearly collapsed seeing this.
However, he grit his teeth and continued moving slowly with the Meteorite on his back. Ace nodded and walked over to Byron while holding the Meteorite as the Professors talked with Cynthia while observing the Fossil Pokemon.
Byron stood by the side, looking at the ruined training ground with a sigh. Ace came to him, "Hah… Sorry!" Byron rolled his eyes and waved, "Are you gonna fix it?" Ace nodded and changed the subject, "By the way, what are you gonna do with these Meteorites?"
Byron's lips twitched and he looked at him with crossed arms as Ace grinned, "Actually, Meteorites have a lot of valuable Minerals and Ores, maybe even metals we've never seen before." Byron laughed and asked, "Are you a Space Professor now?" Ace's lips twitched and he replied, "It's Astronomer, first of all… Plus, there might be surprises inside!"
Byron paused and looked at him suspiciously, "Surprises?" he thought of the Old man down the road's surprise Onigiri with tickets inside… Ace didn't know what he was thinking, but Sycamore materialized next to them, nodding, "It's true! From what we've observed, most Mega Stones come from Space!"
Ace nearly had a heart attack! Where the fuck did this guy come from!?
Byron looked at Sycamore, rubbing his chin, "Mega Stones, eh?" Sycamore was excited and Byron looked at Ace, "Go grab the rest?" Ace put down the Meteorite, causing a tremor, making Sycamore swallow dryly.
Ace brought over the Meteorites and Byron looked at them, "Now what?" Sycamore smiled, "Normally I use tool-" Ace karate chopped the Meteorites, splitting them in half! Sycamore changed his words very naturally, "Of course, tools are necessary!"
Machop looked at this karate chop and nodded, I have learned!
Sycamore didn't care about the Pokemon-like qualities, searching the Meteorite excitedly. Ace and Byron looked at the Meteorite as well, but they didn't know what they were looking at exactly.
It just looked like Metal to them.
For posterity's sake, Ace was more familiar with Terrestrial Fossils and Minerals rather than Extraterrestrial ones.
So that was the reason for the disconnect.
Sycamore pulled out tools from his magic pocket and tapped all around the Meteorites before pulling out a piece, looking at Ace, "Please strike here." Ace, who had become a human meteorite cutting machine, smashed the Meteorite to debris.
Sycamore spread out the pieces, pulling out a Silver bead the size of a baby's fist. Ace and Byron were dumbfounded!
Really a Mega Stone?!
Sycamore looked at the stone with a Jeweler's Loupe, seeing the DNA pattern inside. He inspected a bit more and came to the conclusion, "This could either be Steelixite or Aggronite." Ace was curious and asked, "How do you tell, Professor?"
Sycamore smiled and explained, pointing at the bead with a pick-like tool, "You see these lines here?" Ace looked carefully and nodded, to be honest it didn't look different from the games, more like a cool marble.
Sycamore continued, "These patterns resemble the overall average qualities a Pokemon has. You can see in this section that there are faint black patterns…" Sycamore continued speaking as Ace and Byron continued nodding.
Sycamore finished and looked at the two, "Do either of you have these two Pokemon?" Ace looked at Byron, who took out Steelix and Aggron, "Come on out, you two." The two behemoths appeared, nudging Byron affectionately.
Byron smiled and rubbed their heads, saying, "See if any of you feel attracted to that marble." Steelix and Aggron looked over.
Steelix leaned down and sniffed before his eyes lit up, chewing on the Meteorite happily. Byron's lips twitched while Aggron looked at the marble, growling. Sycamore handed the marble to him and Aggron played with it, turning to Byron, roaring.
Byron looked at him in surprise, "You can feel a connection?" Sycamore dusted his hands, standing up as he smiled, "I happen to have an extra Key Stone, would you like to give it a try?"
Byron looked faintly excited and nodded. Sycamore handed him an extra Key Stone, smiling, "Originally it was to test for an Mega Evolutions in the new Fossils. Alas…" Ace suddenly said to him, "Actually, I've been to a lot of Ruins…"
Sycamore looked at him as Ace explained, "I don't know how many Mega Pokemon you've found… But I've seen a lot in those Ruins." Sycamore's eyes lit up and he took out a notebook, "Really?! I'd love to hear them!"
Ace thought about it and began, "Three Kanto Starter Pokemon, Alakazam, Gengar, Kangaskhan, Pinsir, Gyrados, Ampharos, Scizor, Houndoom, Heracross…" he went on and stated all the Mega Evolutions from the games.
Other than Mewtwo's two forms and Rayquaza, but he did mention Diancie.
Sycamore wrote down everything, asking quickly, "Do you have the locations for those ruins?!" Ace scratched his head and replied, "I don't know them all… I forgot a lot of places since I stumbled on them but I do know there's one in the Desert in the Hoenn Region."
Of course, he was lying about finding the Megas from Ruins… Mostly!
The ruin in the Desert in the Hoenn region was actually true! He even caught a glimpse of Mega Rayquaza in there, but he was on the run at that time and couldn't confirm it. However, there were Mega Banette statues lining the inside hallway.
Sycamore sighed but asked for more details on the ruins in the desert. Ace remembered as best as he could, giving him nearly the exact coordinates. This was mainly because…
He was sure that the lower level of that ruin was the home of the sleeping Regirock! After all, the location where it was, was the same as the place where you had to jump through 8 trillion hoops to get Regirock.
Ace added, "I would be careful if you go there, Professor…" Sycamore looked at him as Ace rubbed his neck, "If I'm not mistaken, that Ruin in Particular should be the Home of Regirock." Sycamore was dumbfounded, "Really?!"
He looked even more excited now!
You have to know, in this world, Regi series were extremely mysterious!
Not like in the games where even if you had the choice between a Regirock or Magikarp for competitive battles you would choose Magikarp!
The meme was that maybe a miracle would happen and Magikarp would evolve into Gyrados suddenly, but even if it didn't it was still better than Regirock!
Honestly, the only Legendaries that Ace was interested in were Rayquaza and Mewtwo, Arceus and the rest…
They were just meh in his personal opinion!
Of course, if Eternatus was capturable… That's a whole different story!
That Pokemon is the coolest thing he had ever seen!
Ace had more interest in Ultra Beasts than Legendary Pokemon. The age of throwing a billion Pokeballs at Zapdos in the Abandoned Powerplant is over, after all!
