The first thing Galen did was fix up his advertisement sign to write what he was selling. He listed everything he was selling, but he didn't put the prices up.
Galen made sure to write that the poster could be inaccurate because these things might be sold out by then.
Afterward, he went outside and placed the sign into the Unit Five slot. On these sign boards, it displayed what each unit was selling.
Galen wrote out tags that display their prices. Afterward, he placed them behind the display glass neatly—along with the items.
----
-Pokéball = ₽12, Leafstone = ₽5,000, Waterstone = ₽5,000, Firestone = ₽5,000, Thunderstone ₽5,000, Moonstone ₽7,500, Link Cable ₽8,000,
----
Galen decided to sell the Pokéball at its current market price. This price was too high, but the price had gone up to this, over the years.
Once a Pokéball failed to capture a Pokémon, it would break and become useless. Unless you were a crafter, the Pokéball had no hope of restoration.
Galen didn't plan on selling all his Pokéballs, just thirty of them. After all, Pallet Town didn't have a Pokémart or other places that sold them. The only way to get Pokéballs in this town was from Professor Oak.
Galen also put a note on the glass just in case of certain circumstances.
Thank goodness, this place comes with service bells just in case I'm not paying attention.
"Now, let's check my other items now that I'm alone." Galen hadn't gotten the chance to check his other rewards.
"System, can you hear me?" Galen called out to the system.
"... ..."
However, his calls fell on deaf ears, it had ignored him!
"So it's like that." Galen's eyebrows knitted.
It seemed that this system wasn't sentient, or simply didn't care to talk to him. Galen couldn't be bothered to think about it for long, as his attention converged elsewhere.
"Five Rare Candies, that's Five levels for a Pokémon. This item is harder to acquire than the stones, so I won't sell them."
Galen inspected the Rare Candies with his Eye Of Arceus. He found that there was a powerful thick blue aura around them.
It was so strong that people who couldn't see aura could see some small fluctuations.
"No wonder this thing can level up a Pokémon unconditionally once consumed. The aura within this item is simply nothing to joke about."
Galen's eyes widened not only due to the aura but also because of the warmth of the Rare Candy.
"Dang, I can use these as warmth pads if I ever get cold." Galen smiled and stroked his chin.
If any trainer heard Galen's words, they probably would want to beat him to death and grind his bones into powder!
Use a Rare Candy as a warmth pad!
Ridiculous!
The next item Galen checked was the mysterious Ascension Fruit. Such an item wasn't in the games or animated series, so it was likely something exclusive to the system.
This Ascension Fruit could fit well into Galen's palm, so they weren't that big. They were chromatic gold as if someone had painted them. The stems of these fruits were purple with golden stripes.
"Hey, I saw the sign for unit Five, are you really... by Arceus, you're selling them!"
Just as Galen was about to inspect the fruit description, he heard a voice filled with inpatients and anxiety.
Galen looked up to see a boy around Fourteen or Fifteen years of age. He wore glasses and his expression was that of surprise.
"You're wearing glasses, right? You can see for yourself." Galen said dully.
"You..." The boy was speechless, but he could indeed see them for himself. There was even a sign outside that showed that he was selling these items.
"I didn't bring that much money, I need to go back and gather some cash. Can you reserve a Leafstone for me?"
The boy asked with hope.
"No. Read the sign, first come first serve. No reservations, I don't have time to wait on people who don't have the money at face value."
Galen shook his head and denied him.
"Damn it! I'll be back!" The boy didn't have time to argue and bargain, he quickly ran down the hallway and left.
Just as the glasses boy left, three people came from down the way.
"Crazy bastard, watch where you're going you crazy fool!" Galen heard a furious shout from down the hall.
"Sorry!" The glasses apologized but rushed out after saying his peace.
"It's that damned nerd Westley. His face is always in a book and he wants to be a Pokémon Master, what a joke?"
One of the boys voiced his contempt for the boy, he almost lashed out by punching him in anger.
"Colton, forget about him. He was excited and in a hurry, he probably didn't even recognize you."
The one who spoke was a girl and she wore a light blue skirt. She had delicate features and her age appeared to be around thirteen or fourteen.
"Hehe, I guess I can forgive that loser for my lovely Natalie," Colton said with affection.
"I told you not to talk to me like that," Natalie said coldly, she hated being around this guy.
"We're not here for this, we're here to get our hands on some rare stones. That sign said that the items might be sold out, so it wasn't accurate."
His name was Nathan and he was Natalie's older brother.
"I hope this guy isn't running a scam, or else." Colton's tone was filled with warning and threat.
Galen sneered, they had spoken loudly like this on purpose. If they didn't have the funds to purchase anything, he would ruthlessly send them off.
"So this is the Unit Five." Almost immediately, they saw the items on display.
"I want to buy a Moonstone!" Natalie's eyes widened with joy when she saw the Moonstone behind the glass.
"Huh? You're that loser who lives on the edge of Pallet Town! How could a loser like you sell such items?"
Colton gazed upon Galen with eyes filled with disdain. Not only was his family poor and struggling, but Galen and his other siblings had failed to enter the Regulation Guild.
"If you're here to insult and not buy, then scram the hell out of here! I don't have time for idiots, time is money."
Galen naturally remembered this guy from the previous owner's memories. This guy and the other children of Pallet often ridiculed him and his siblings.
His dislike for Colton was natural.
"You! How dare a poor ghost like you talk to me like that?!" Colton was furious and almost jumped over the counter to attack Galen.
Colton was bigger than the average kid his age and appeared to work out often.
"Hey, what's going on here? You guys better not be fighting, or we'll kick you out!" A security guard came over after hearing the ruckus.
Colton immediately quieted down, this place was also supported by the Pokemon Alliance. Anyone starting trouble could be banned permanently.
A cold light flashed in Colton's eyes, how dare this lowly scum go against him?!
"Colton! Don't cause any trouble! If you get us banned, I'll let you know what trouble is!" Natalie warned Colton gravely, this guy was too much of a troublemaker.
"Yes, yes, my mistake, hehe!" Colton laughed it off, but his heart was burning with anger.
The security officer saw that the situation was tamed and didn't act. However, he remained on stand-by when he saw that Colton seemed to be a troublemaker.
"Sir, me and brother wish to purchase a Moonstone each, thank you."
Natalie saw that the price was higher than the market value. However, she wasn't upset, she understood the demand for this stone was high so the price would naturally rise.
"Alright. Are you guys paying together or separately?" Galen smiled and asked.
"Together." Nathan nodded and said.
He was secretly happy to get his hands on a Moonstone, this was his greatest worry. Nathan wanted to evolve his Nidoran male fully in the future, and this item was essential.
Nathan took off his backpack and placed it on the counter before going through it. Afterward, he pulled out two stacks of 100 Pokédollar bills.
These banknotes were blue with star-like designs on them. This banknote also had the face of a Jirachi on it. There were 7 banknotes in this world and this was the currency for the whole world.
There was the ₽1 with Rhydon on it, the ₽5 with Manaphy on it, ₽10 with Victini on it, ₽20 with Shaymin on it, ₽50 with Celebi on it, ₽100 with Jirachi face on it, and the ₽1,000 with Mew's face it.
As they were doing this, Galen pretended to go to the backroom and retrieve the Moonstones. Nathan didn't hesitate and handed Galen [One-Hundred Fifty] 100 Pokédollar banknotes.
Galen made sure to count the money before handing the Moonstones to them.
"Oh, thank you so much!" Natalie was overjoyed, as she inspected the Moonstone.
It was the real deal!
"No problem, only business." She wasn't the only one overjoyed, but so was Galen. This was equivalent to 15,000 dollars in his old world, and he earned it so easily.
Galen knew that these two siblings came from a rich family in Pallet. Their parents owned many acres of land where they cultivated vegetables, fruits, and berries. These goods were shipped everywhere around Kanto, which made the family a killing.
Colton scoffed in his heart, he couldn't figure out how this bum got so many treasures.
What if he could steal all of his goods for himself? Colton thought sinisterly.
"Are you buying anything, or are you just here to window shop?" Galen was blunt and dull, but one could hear the sarcasm in his voice.
"Of course, I have money. I'm also here to purchase an item." Colton maintained his composure and said calmly.
"What will it be?" Galen asked expressionlessly.
"I want the Link Cable." Colton reached into his waist bag and proceeded to retrieve his money.
Again, he pretended to head to the back to retrieve the item. Once Galen came back, the money was laid out on the counter.
Eight 1,000 Pokédollar banknotes were sitting on the counter when he returned. The 1,000 Pokédollar banknote was purple and had Mew's face on it.
"Oh, this isn't enough." Galen grinned as his eyes formed into crescents.
"What? What do you mean, not enough? This is clearly ₽8,000, can't you count?" Colton frowned, was Galen trying to make things difficult for him?
"Oh, that price. Sorry, this price is now ₽16,000 for a Link Cable." Galen blinked in succession as if Colton should have known this already.
"What?! Sixteen-thousand! Why don't you rob it?! The price clearly states that it's 8000 Pokédollars, why did it go up so suddenly?!"
Colton couldn't hold it in anymore, and he exploded with fury. He knew for sure that Galen was making things difficult for him.
"The price went up because of inflation, that's all. The economy can shift like that sometimes, and the shift just started."
Galen explained calmly.
'You cause me trouble outside and then you come into my store causing trouble? Hehe, I'll show you something about causing trouble.'
Galen's thoughts were full of laughter and mockery.
"Colton, you better calm down and stop being loud." Natalie harrumphed and said. She was happy seeing his miserable state. He was the one who started this conflict in the first place
Colton's face was changing into all sorts of colors, but when he turned toward the security guard. He was staring at him with an expression that seemed to be saying, 'You better shut up or else.'
Colton gritted his teeth before pulling out an extra ₽8,000 and handing it to Galen.
"Phew, and here I thought you were just some poor window-shopping ghost. I'm sorry that I misjudged you." Galen humbly apologized with a sincere smile before accepting the money.
Pfft!
Nathan and Natalie couldn't hold it in anymore and burst into laughter.
Colton quickly took his Link Cord and left the mini store. His expression was ashened with anger.
'You little bastard, just you wait!'
