Chapter 11: An Old Friend (Red)

I stood out side the Gym, looking at the bright sunshine when I heard the familiar voice saying,'I got that badge an hour ago, Red.But I knew you would win'.

She stood in front of me. I saw her after a long time. She wore her old teal blue t-shirt with her same red skirt she used to wear with it. She had a white hat, the one with a rim, and a red curve in the centre.

Her loose blue socks were sliding down slowly and she pulled them up gently. I was really happy to see her after all those months.

'Leaf !', I exclaimed while pulling my bag's strap which slipped from my right shoulder.

'Oh, you do remember me', said Leaf, sarcastically. She always talked with sarcastic tones.

'Do you forget a friend after seven months ?', I asked, showing my delight.

'W-well, I guess...not', she said. She seemed taller than the last time we met, now, she was even taller than me.

'Where have you been ?', I asked with sudden curiosity in my voice.

'A little vacation in the Sevii Islands', she said. Sevii Islands wasn't a place you would go for actual vacations, or even spend time with family. It was a place for real Pokemon Trainers for...I guess.....training.

'Sevii Islands, huh ?', I said with a bit of disgust in the tone. I could tell with her expression that she did not felt nice after my reply.

'Okay, where are you planning to go next ?', she asked. I tried to think, um, maybe Mount Silver was a good place for hiking and stuff.

'Mount Moon, it is a perfect destination for...anything', I said. Leaf made an odd face like I was talking nonsense.

'I mean, where to go now', she said. I realised that my brain was a bit slow to understand things.

'Let's stay in the Pewter City', I said, quickly. But I did not think about why we should've stayed there. I expected another strange comment from Leaf.

'Well, it's a good idea', said Leaf. She was actually serious about it.

Then suddenly, I got a really good idea. There was this Museum in the northern part of the city. I went there once with my school. It wasn't too far from the Pokemon Gym also.

'The Museum', I said.

'Okay, I know it's a nice place to visit. Kanto Museum is really different than the others', said Leaf.

She was right. In other regions, museums were pretty boring. They had those creepy skeletons while Kanto Museum had sections. Here we had a big Space and Science section and a Scripture section.

'Wait, I'll check for the direction', I said. I turned on the Pokedex and selected the Map option. The Museum was two hundred metres away and could be seen from the spot we stood at.

'Let's go', said Leaf.

'Yeah', I said, agreeing the statement.

We reached the Museum in not more than four minutes. It had a lot of windows. The Museum looked like the traditional museums you see in old movies. It was light  brown coloured and the door was pretty big. There were four floors in the building.

We stepped on the stairs and walked towards the door. I pushed the door with a little effort and it opened smoothly.

I could feel the cool air that filled the Museum. I was feeling like I was in heaven. I was calming down when Leaf said,' Red, I think we are here to see the Museum and not just stand'.

'Hey, I almost forgot. Do you have Pikachu with you', she asked.

'My dad's ?', I asked.

'Well, yeah', she said.

She knew Pikachu as he helped her once. Remember Professor Oak's Camp ? That's where.
