Chapter 24: 23: The ride through saffron city

"Wow" Leo was surprised as he stared at the huge saffron city, it was one of the biggest and busiest cities in the Kanto region, and it was even famous outside of the region.
That's right, after a whole day of traveling, he had finally made it heRe.
"It's a pity that I won't even be here for a day" Leo sighed as he walked through the city, the whole city was huge, so he definitely wouldn't be able to exit the city to get to vermillion city.

Leo sat inside a small cab, after telling he driver his destination and paying some pokecoins.
Leo enjoyed a long ride through saffron city, he had even taken some pictures along the way, saffron city could be said to have the best structures and building in the whole of Kanto, this along was no joke, the city alone could be said to be a tourist sight back on earth.

Although Leo could immediately hire another transportation vehicle to get to vermillion city easily, that would only prove to make the trip boring.
While in the cab, Leo posted the pictures he had taken of saffron city, he liked to make memories, and posting was the only way, not only that his parents could easily know where he was.

Pidgeotto immediately flew out before soaring and coming back down.
"You will be my main fighting force for the next gym battle" Leo said, although Lt. surge's electric type Pokémon would be at an advantage against pidgeotto, Leo doubted they would cause any serious damage.
"Even so we have to train" Leo thought, he wasn't planning on holding back at all, and his pidgeotto was the only one who hadn't experienced a gym battle.
Battles against an advantaged type Pokémon would always help his Pokémon grow stronger.

"This should be route 6, according to the pokemon games" Leo said with a smile, he was enjoying the feeling of the wind in his hair.
He looked up at pidgeotto who was flying above the grass fields and said " hurry up and evolve buddy, so you can let me experience how it feels to fly".

In this white area which connected saffron city in the north to vermillion city which was in the south.
Leo ran into many types of Pokémon, mainly small pidgeys and even oddish.
He had even ran into a meowth, a group of Mankeys, and many bellsprouts.
"Ugh, all of them are weak Pokémon" Leo sighed helplessly as he set up his tent.
Although it wasn't getting dark yet, he was planning on staying here for a while, training with his Pokémon.

Leo oversaw the training of all of his Pokémon, their strength was soaring to an unbelievable height ever since he started the journey.
"Is the system feeding these guys some sort of immortal steroids?" Leo thought, he had just seen pidgeotto blast a huge rock off a tall hill before shooting into the clouds.
The strongest in his team was obviously frogadier.
"Since he is my starter, and the one chosen by the system, does it get 10x steroids each day?" Leo's surprise only increased more and more.
Each one of his Pokémon were monsters, at this rate even those legendary bird Pokémon's would suffer at their hands.
"Seadra is the most non-aggressive of this group, although it has that menacing gaze" Leo thought.
Seadra was currently swimming in a lake, it was occasionally challenging some golduck's and other water Pokémon in the area.
