Chapter 32: Solidarity

"That's a shame!" 

"Nora," Carlisle responded turning behind him to see the red-headed duchess. Her lips formed a pout as she extended her fan and arm for him to grab. Carlisle kissed the top of her hand as was the etiquette. 

"I was looking to say hi to your wife before she ran away." Eleanora clicked her tongue, sighing, "She's far better than that ghastly bitch that you keep by your side." 

Carlisle wasn't surprised at the crudeness of her words. Eleanora never was one to ebb her tongue. Ever since the death of her older husband, she had become the sole heir to the Duchy. One of the only women to rule over the Duchy, everyone vied for her attention and her love. 

"I think something happened," Carlisle spoke cautiously.
