Chapter 53: 53. Kill The Cousin
The day had been extremely tiring for Mu Chen, there had been meetings from the previous night with their overseas companies.
He had not even had the chance to sleep for three days by then, with only a few hours of cat naps in between, and it was getting too strained even for him, who usually slept very less.
He could not stop then but he had decided to sleep for sometime after having his lunch, for a while in the evening.
Then he got a reminder from his assistant that he had to check the development near the mall.
He never checked these matters himself, so he had gotten angry at his assistant for making such a suggestion.
"What kind of an idiot am I employing?" He shook his head dissapointed with Mai Sichong.
"Umm. Sir, it has been reported that Miss RuQian would be shopping today with Miss Lan Xie and her other friend in The Golden Square Mall today.
That was the reason I thought you would want to check the development of the nearby building. I apologize for my intrusion sir." His PA Mai Sichong bowed low in front of him, trying to escape his boss' anger.
"I will make sure this mistake does not repea.."
"What time do we have to leave for the inspection?" Mu Chen interrupted him.
"Sir, you just.."
"What?" Mu Chen glared at his PA.
Mai Sichong cleared his throat uncomfortably, it was not like he could say anything to his boss, so he just kept quiet trying to gauge his boss' expression.
He took deep breaths to calm down, 'Wow, he just changed a hundred and eighty degrees after finding out that Miss RuQian would be present there.
I have to be very careful in the future.' Looked like Miss RuQian was the key to his master's locked up mind.
He still remembered the day when he had called Miss RuQian as Miss Su. Mu Chen had gotten so angry that he had actually shown some anger on his forever cold face and had especially told him to never call her that again.
Mai Sichong shivered remembering that day.
"Well?" Mu Chen urged the absent minded assistant.
"Right. Uhh. Miss RuQian would be going there in the evening after finishing her school."
"Hmm. There were other documents I had to check in the evening right? I will do that now itself."
"But sir, maybe you should rest for a while. You haven't slept for.." Mai Sichong immediately shut his mouth after he received a glare from Mu Chen.
"I'll bring the documents right away sir." Mai Sichong left the office room quickly. Why does Mu Chen have to be this scary all the time.
Mu Chen then finished all the work for that day without even having lunch and hurriedly left for the site near the mall.
Even he did not know why he was so interested in RuQian, but he was. The girl seemed to be way more mature than girls her age and there was a unique spark in her eyes, which attracted him to her undeniable beauty.
After leaving the company, he continued working on his laptop in the car, then quickly finished the site inspection and told Mai Sichong to park the car near the mall entrance.
They waited for two hours before three girls stepped out of a car in front of the entrance of the mall.
Mai Sichong alerted his boss who was busy with his work when he saw the girls. The car was parked close by, so when the girls huddled to a corner and started talking amongst themselves, they had not realized there was a parked car just a few feet behind the shrubs.
Mu Chen heard when Lan Xie started telling the story of their ancestors and frankly he did not mind RuQian knowing about it.
Although he was not sure about the other girl, he knew she came from a very menial background and had recently become protective of RuQian, so he was fine with her but would still keep an eye out.
Mu Chen was a celibate man who had never been attracted to any woman who had thrown themselves at him. It wasn't that he had never been in a relationship before but after he took in the reigns to both businesses he neither had time nor the energy to keep up with bimbos.
All the coy acts had always disgusted him and he was never turned on by anyone. There had been many doubts within his family that he might be gay but no one dared to say anything to express their thoughts out loud.
In public, this was never an issue as Mu Chen was a very private man and he had never even been photographed before. So the public knew nothing of him.
RuQian had been the only person he had ever paid any attention to. It was after he had seen the pictures that she had taken in which she looked as if she had faced the entire world all alone.
Every woman he had met with were either trying their best to please him or were too cocky for their own good.
If someone had the talent and skill and were being cocky he could've understood but that was not the case and his disgust toward women only increased when one of them tried to drug him and take advantage of him.
Of course he had never personally met RuQian, so there was a chance of his opinion of her being changed, but the more he learned about her, the more conversations he heard, the more intrigued he felt.
He could not wait to meet her. He was a person who could read others quite easily but there were quite a lot of times while seeing the video footage he had not been able to understand what her thoughts were.
And there was sometimes a weird expression on her face as if she knew some sort of secret which the world wasn't aware of.
"But he seriously needs to slow down, his family misses him." He heard his cousin saying this which he would normally not care, but this was said in the presence of RuQian.
He quickly turned to see her expression, it looked like she was thinking of something, nothing important.
But that expression changed when his cousin said that RuQian too had never seen his face before.
His cousin and the other girl had not seen RuQian's expression as she hid it well, it wasn't that easy to fool Mu Chen.
But then again he could not understand what exactly her thoughts were. He was sure he had never met her before.
He sat there in the backseat of his Maybach and racked his brain to think of any situation where he could've met her. But unless she remembered everything it was impossible for her to know his face.
He hoped she had forgotten everything and that they would forever be forgotten.
"He is lucky to have a family. Why would he not visit them." There was obvious displeasure on RuQian's face.
He could see the sadness on her face, she must've been thinking of her family.
Mu Chen wanted to throttle his cousin. He had not even met the girl he was attracted to and had already made a bad impression.
Mu Chen sighed to himself. 'Ah what do I do? I should maybe kill my cousin.'
