The moon shone like a pearl in the wasteland, casting its ethereal light and creating ghostly shadows in the alleyways of Eldread, the dungeon city. In one of those alleys, lit by flickering torches and strewn with remnants of forgotten revelries, a figure danced with inhuman grace, curious gazes focused on the silly act.
"My friends step right up!" The voice of the performer called up to those who didn't find solace in their sleep or were too blinded by the dungeon influence to be able to do so.
With an agile jump, she got on top of one of the abandoned stalls, catching the eye of some more passersby. Her dance was silly but fluid, her cat-like ears moved from one side to another as her black cat tail undulated in the air, some people clapped and others looked annoyed and went on their way, deciding to ignore the mischievous cat.
As the audience gathered, a sly smile spread on the face of the performer, as she jumped again back to her original place, surrounding herself with a sudden swarm of paper butterflies that caught fire after a couple of seconds, gathering some surprised sounds from the crowd, illuminating her sleek black hair looked silky like velvet, her golden eyes scanned the crowd with greed. With a victory pose, she extended her arms to the sides receiving some applauses and more importantly, she heard the tingling of money.
"Thank you!" She shouted as she grabbed a handful of coins tossed her way and rapidly retreated to a pile of boxes "I'm no mere jester, the name is Raven, never forget it!"
Her silly antics made the crowd laugh, and soon they began to disperse, still the well-masked anger coursing through the performer boiled like a volcano.
'I have to endure this just a little more' She thought to soothe the the intense emotions inside of her 'Everything to one day find that man' Her eyes focused on the colossal tower in the distance 'And when I do it...' A smile formed on her face once again, but this time it wasn't a pleasant one.
"Whatever, only time will tell!" She jumped and placed her hands behind her head as she began walking back to the tavern in a very happy-go-lucky way.
Her name was Raven, once a bandit and a fugitive, no more than a shadow of this cursed society, that haunted a certain man and swore revenge upon another one.
