Apophis, wearing the same school uniform, glanced around, then stared at Midgard.
"I was starting to wonder how crazy my envy was, but if you're here, that should mean I'm no longer alive."
Midgard, with her mocking smile, simply nodded.
"So, if I'm dead, and so are you, what is this place? This isn't what the afterlife is supposed to look like."
"Hm... Technically, it's a form of afterlife, in a way. You don't seem surprised to see me, like if you knew I was dead."
"... Your people came to me and told me about you. But what a surprise... You? Sacrificing yourself for your Avatar? How ridiculous."
She stared indifferently at her nails while Midgard moved her hair with a finger.
"Not an Avatar, but my other half. And you? How did you die? Don't tell me those kids got you even with the power of your little Cleo."
Apophis looked at her with an anxious intensity, but instead of getting angry, she just rolled her eyes.
