Chapter 31: DiMiTri
The duo proceed up the stairs which follow around the outer wall of the building bypassing the second floor entirely till they reach the third floor where they are greeted by a deluxe VIP reception hall.
A butler immediately comes over to show them through to another room where they are asked to wait till Dimitri arrives before leaving them alone.
"Oh this is plush but where are all the drinks at BORING" Tral says before throwing himself into a nearby couch.
"Damn it, can you please take this more seriously. These guys aren't messing around here and we are the ones asking for their help." Darick complains trying to get Tral to behave himself.
"Fiiiine, I'll good.. ish but come on, we are the customers and it's not like I won't pay extra to be an ass" Tral relents while pulling out a few bars of gold out of his jacket which he brought so that he wouldn't have to use his power.
After laying them on the table he sighs "those were heavily you know, it's not like I have your strength although you did bring more bars then me so I guess it's alright but you figure they are listening in or what?" Tral asks causing Daricks to roll his eyes.
After waiting almost half an hour with Tral getting all impatient due to boredom the doors finally open up and in walks a very unusual individual followed by to guards.
The person in question is hard to tell whether they are a boy or a girl but they stood at six and a half feet tall in a luxurious suit that was woven in intricate patterns that seem to move sporadically. Their violet face has three eyes, two normal eyes have purple iris's and a third larger eye in the middle of their forehead was completely full of vivid colours that emanated an otherworldly brilliance.
"♪Mr.Salvara and Mr.Cross, it is a wonderful event for us to meet, this one is DiMiTri. At your service as always♪" the beings lyrical voice resonates out of its mouth as it introduces itself.
"♪worry you should not as a guest of mine, for such things are meaningless past the meaning you burden yourselves with. The Old One told me of your intentions and I cannot treat you badly with such high recommendations, so please do relax as this should be a joyous time♪" DiMiTri implores the duo to calm their nerves with a soothing tone.
Tral unceremoniously stands up with a quick mock bow before saying "well shit bud, I almost feel high just staring at you." Much to Darick and the guards disproval yet DiMiTri smiles at the remark "♪A wonderful feeling to express yourself. So free is it not, as so few do release their inhibitions to speak their mind. The next step clearly is to refine the mind so then those thoughts become improved♪"
Tral is stunned for a moment before opening his mouth again "wow, I don't think I've ever been insulted so nicely before, I think I'll remember that one for next time some posh prick says something stupid" to which DiMiTri gives a gracious nod.
Darick feels the need to interject at this point "I'm really sorry for my friends lack of manners, this happens too often. It is a pleasure to meet you Dimitri and I hope we can do business in a manner you fine agreeable."
"♪It should not be a burden on your mind as there is nothing to feel sorry over my friend. As for business, though this one cares not for material gain, my friends do love it so and we would be most appreciative for your donations. The substance you seek comes in the form of a potion which I would recommend to be used through the lungs but not smoked yet inhailed asveven the vapours are quite strong if you will for the best results. Hold in as long as able and relax. The effects, though intense does not last very long and as the come down is simply magnificent there should not be a worry to be had♪" DiMiTri explains while producing a clear vial that contains a golden liquid. "♪This One understands that your friend wishes to study it although he can find it in all living things to some extent, the refinement process is quite difficult though so don't be disheartened if it can't be easily reproduced♪"
After processing all that was said Tral responds a little stunned "So you mean to say this stuff is everywhere in small amounts and you except only donations in exchange for refining it?" receiving a nod to confirm his beliefs.
Darick very excitedly replies "Thank you very much although I'm sure my other more scientific friend will be very skeptical about this, we will be sure to leave large donations if it lives up to the hype."
DiMiTri nods again before floating the vial over to Tral with a small warning "♪Remember that this is but a key that may unlock a door or two but it is you who must turn the knob and walk through♪"
With that said DiMiTri abruptly turns around and leaves while one of the guards stays behind to collect the gold on the table.
Tral and Darick are both still quite dumbfounded after the whole experience staring at the vial they just received.
"That was completely unusual.. I don't fully know what just happened but the deal worked.. I think" Tral managed to say.
The remaining guard turned to them "that's DiMiTri, you get used to it pretty fast but it's quite a mind blower to deal with. You are both still guests here so please stay as long as you wish I'll have someone bring in food and drinks right away if that's the case" he says before leaving.
The duo spent much of the night at the Twisted Dragon before returning to the shop quite debilitated much to the displeasure of the rest of the group.
