Chapter 73: Coming to his senses
Tral woke up in a fancy bed without a clue as to how he got there. The last thing he remembered was killing Sturge in the deathmatch. He suddenly realized that there was a distinguished individual next to him so he asked "Are you with the tower and are we still there?".
The man who was reading previously startled up to stand in a very professional fashion before answering "My apologies sir but I'm not with the I-Game-Shiny company but work for you as of yesterday under the contract signed by your friend with the Procure and Private organization. My name is Ko Shakai and we are currently in a hotel that has been arranged for you. It was a good thing I got to you after your fight as those people were about to take you away for what I can only assume to be invasive medical examinations that would have very likely revealed your identity as well as all manner of horrible activities those Shinigami delight in."
Tral blinked a few times at this to soak all this information in as he was still waking up "Ok so Darick hired you and you know who we are but aren't telling the church because I can only assume that contract was very binding which means first of all I owe you a lot of money for whatever services you are providing and second I should probably thank you for those services that saved me from... what is a Shinigami?"
The man nodded his head at this "Yes sir you seem to have the jist of it, the amount currently owed to be paid by the end of the year is around three point four billion gold while the services provided are information and privacy amongst other minor arrangements that we are more then happy to fulfill for our most executive client. As for the Shinigami they would be very deadly and dark spirits or demons that run the I-Game-Shiny company though the use of Shades and sorcery."
Tral facepalms for a moment at all this awful news then asks more questions "Darick didn't even read the price tag did he and where is that idiot now?"
He soon received a response that caused even more questions "Mr.Cross is driving around town as he claims to 'want to go dancing with his new lover'. Those were his exact words and I can provide further details if you wish but I do believe you would be more interested in the information we have required about your young friend from the former Gè sect in relation to the I-Game-Shiny group as well as the Divine sects miss Kindness... which I believe was a name given quite ironically."
Tral fully woke up at this "Yes very much so but also the Gè sect is not former anything as Gè Míng is the current patriarch with two disciples which are your current employers Darick and myself. As you are contracted to us so are we to him and what remains of the Gè sect."
Ko Shakai nodded his head politely in understanding "My apologies sir for the misunderstanding in that case it is all the more urgent that something should be done as miss Kindness seems to have gone behind her leaders back to strike a deal with the demons who are trying to convince the young patriarch to reveal the Gè sects secrets while also preparing a ritual to turn him into a Shade which is a being that results from dark sorcery in which multiple wicked spirits take possession of an individual's body and mind."
Tral thinks this issue over for a while before filling much of the room with gold to pay down his debt as he orders "I will need your people to contact a friend of mine in the city by the name Elysia Ray who should be quite renowned for his monster hunting prowess as well as arrange for a meeting to gather everyone together with all the information you have collected so far. After that is done I have a yacht in the harbour which I'm sure you already know about, in it is more gold for you as well as an enchanted hand gun with some swords I would like for myself and of it wouldn't be to much trouble finding me a shop for adequate artifact armor suiting my needs for supernatural defence while keeping in mind that no part of it can contain silver as the stuff is generally unpleasant for someone with my health condition."
Ko Shakai once again nods in approval at these requests "I am surprised you are friends with the slayer of darkness Elysia Ray considering your... health condition but if you wish to meet him that can be arranged easily as he has been looking for you which as to support your privacy we had been going to great lengths to lead him away at all costs. Speaking of which, there are a number of people actively looking for you including obviously the church but also many smaller groups such as the ever spreading Reaper gang who have ties to I-Game-Shiny as well as a very advanced gang called the Techno Punks who are to the north of the mountains but very resourceful, a mercenary organization called Riddick's Reavers, the Resistance which has eyes everywhere bringing their search mostly to the southern coast of the continent, the Divine sect leader who has put out a massive bounty that includes emission into his sect and closer to Kalsar a band of werewolves calling themselves the pack but your friend Darick is currently out 'dancing' with them with his new lover."
