"I can't sustain the shield!" Lisa cried, her body drenched in sweat as exhaustion slowly drained her spirit. The crack on the red shield enveloping the students widened, and a strand of magma began forcing its way through.
Mira clung to Lisa, terror shining in her eyes.
"Please, Lisa, let me reach out to Hiraku!" Mira pleaded, her voice trembling and her eyes pooling with fear.
"He hasn't fully healed yet," Lisa replied, her hands trembling as she held them out, balancing on one knee. Tears welled in her eyes as the pain of sustaining the shield grew unbearable.
"Lisa, I don't have a choice! I'm reaching out to him," Mira retorted. She pressed her index and middle fingers against her forehead, which glowed with a purplish light, and her spirit entered Hiraku's spiritual domain.
Inside, Hiraku was meditating, sitting cross-legged in serene stillness. Mira ran to him and hugged him anxiously, unable to control her tears.
"Hiraku, please wake up! Wake up! You need to save us!" she screamed into his ears, her hands yanking at his arm.
"Mira, I can't hold on!" Lisa's desperate yell echoed into Mira's spiritual domain, her voice filled with pain and urgency.
"Hiraku!" Mira yelled louder, her tears falling onto the surface of the waters where hiraku sat. His eyes in a moment of life and death opened with defiance to the natural order. His eyes shone in a golden brilliance as he held Mira's arm and they both disappeared.
*
The shield shattered with the claws almost piercing Lisa's face when a wave of feiry energy slashed through the air cutting off the claw. Lisa's eyes still shut, slowly opened to see that Mira has transformed, Her body fully covered in white armour that glistened,a white cape of white flames fell from her shoulders to her foot, her hair turned feiry white. The sword of the spirit which she held on her right hand had an overflowing amount of feiry red energy. Mira turned a slight gaze at Liza who was sprawled on the floor weak and almost powerless,
"Are you alright?" Mira asked,Her voice with a mix of a male and a female voice.
"Hira is that you?" Lisa asked with a faint smile on her face. Mira's left eye shone golden and her right eye had a purplish glow. She smiled at Lisa and faced the demon, she placed her index and third finger on her forehead chanting a spell, all the students including Lisa vanished from the house and Appeared outside of the building. A mouth with several long and sharp fangs grew on the imposing magma which engulfed everywhere safe for where Mira stood,it let out a burst of shattering energy which rippled past Mira, the wave shattered the wall behind but it didn't affect her in the slightest way.
The black magma on the ground wrapped around her leg and turned solid in an attempt to break her leg into bits, but the churning white flame emanating from the greaves burned the magma away.
She held out the Sword of the Spirit and left it in the air. It moved toward the magma. Slowly, it began rotating. The fiery flames slowly danced in a circular motion in the air. The sword rotated faster, and the flames grew larger, burning the magma. The loud shriek of the magma filled the air as it turned to black ash. The residual magma on the floor transformed into ash as the magma dissipated into nothingness.
The sword returned to Mira with a slight brutal force as she held it in her right hand.
"We did well," Shira and Hiraku muttered in unison under her breath as her armor slowly disappeared, and her eyes returned to their earthly form. Her heavy breaths slowed down as her human form reappeared. She went through the cracked wall and saw Lisa running toward her. Lisa hugged her tightly, still believing Hiraku's spirit was in her.
"Thank God you're alright!" she exclaimed, smiling with relief.
"Um, Lisa, Hiraku has left my spiritual domain. It's just me now."
"Oh, I'm sorry. But, um, I'd still hug you," Lisa replied, withdrawing her hug and looking down in embarrassment. She then noticed the distance where the students were, and saw runic symbols on the ground. The ambience of the symbols slowly faded away. Lisa and Mira ran toward the rune and studied it.
"Do you know what this means?" Mira asked, looking in curiosity.
"From the little I learned from the Clavis Salomonis, it looks like a spell used by mages and sorcerers. From the pattern, it seems like a memory spell. Someone was here not too long ago," Lisa explained, her hands studying the rune on the ground.
"But Lisa, how did the mage or sorcerer cast the spell in a flash?"
"I have no idea. All I know is that when I ran to hug you, the sorcerer used the most advanced kind of spell. Not only did the sorcerer erase their memory of what happened, but they also teleported them home. That kind of magic is rare. Even I don't possess that kind of power."
"Does Hiraku have the ability to erase that many people's memories?" Mira asked again, her eyes glimmering in the moonlight.
"No. He can astral project and create portals, but he doesn't have the power to erase that many memories, much less teleport them to different locations," Lisa responded.
"That means someone is watching us. Haven't you noticed how the aura around us shifts when we are in class or after school? These days, I feel like our lives are in danger." Mira looked into the distance, apprehensive about the outlook of the situation. They stood pondering when the sound of police sirens was heard in the distance. Mira conjured a spatial portal on the ground, which took the shape of a crescent moon that shone purple. Lisa was shocked upon seeing this. Mira could control her powers now. The light shone brightly, and they disappeared, leaving no trace.
