Chapter 50: I Lost It  

I stared at the woman in front of me, sitting like a queen on her throne. Had she really just said that? That I still had my happy ending?

I might not be the only one to have suffered under the lizard people, and I definitely wasn't the only one to suffer in the FCDL, but did that also mean I deserved it?

That because I wasn't the only one, I couldn't let it affect me?

Mei Xing seemed to have realized exactly how her words came out. Her eyes softened for a second, and she opened her mouth as if to apologize, but then she stopped. Her face completely going cold again.

"I think I am ready to leave," I said, coming to my feet. There was nothing more that I needed from this place.

As I stood up, I could feel a gushing of blood coming from me and starting to flow down my leg. But I kept my head high. I was sure that she had enough people around to clean up her house. And I didn't need to subjugate myself to her.
