Silence hung in the air as neither Penny nor Hugo spoke for several minutes. Penny rewatched the footage for the umpteenth time, while Hugo observed her quietly.
'She was really different last night,' he thought. 'Although I simplified what happened, it still bothers me.'
Because at the end of the day, Penny wasn't just drunk last night. She was conscious of her actions, and everything she did was precise. Hugo had to admit that while he might win in a brawl against her, it didn't mean she didn't stand a chance.
What stood out most was her rage. She had looked at him as if he were her enemy, which didn't make sense, as they had always been partners. Just like now, Hugo was feeding her all the information she needed.
"Penny?" he called, noticing she had been quiet for longer than usual. "Are you okay?"
