Nina wiped her eyes with the back of her hand, reminded of the words she had told him earlier that day. Snapping her eyes back to where Finn was lying, her lips quivered as her heart ached. She clasped his hand tighter, hoping a squeeze was enough to wake him up.

But alas, she knew it wasn't enough.

With the beat of his heart heard through a beep and his life being monitored by some lines, she knew it wasn't enough. Nina held his hand, reaching out to touch his bandaged cheek.

"Finn," she whispered, almost choking on her breath. "Babe… I'm sorry."

If she could have predicted this would happen, she would've been kinder with her words. If she had known this would happen, she probably wouldn't have left him that day. Although that thinking was quickly countered by reason, she simply didn't care anymore. She didn't even know what to think anymore.
