Chapter 124: When Love Falls

SLAP!!

A loud slap echoed in the entire parlor, filling the dreadful silence. I felt a sharp tingling pain on my left cheek and the smite made my stance shift two feet backward. Every pair of eyes turned to Marvel who delivered it to me and the scenery caused the whole manor to experience another silence.

I swallowed hard, unable to utter a word or even look at him. Still feeling both shocked and confused, slowly, I turned my head to the front again to study my situation, wavering eyes on nowhere but the floor.

I spent the next second taking a breath, trying to calm myself before I decided to react, but before I was even able to, Marvel delivered another slap to my right cheek.
