Joining in the applause, Chief Kert stood up. He made sure to straighten his aging, hunched back while clapping for his son.
"Kerl… I am so proud of you!"
Kerl was the only one sitting… and it felt so awkward, almost uncomfortable. But that uneasiness passed after just seconds. Even if Kerl's impulse was to stand up with them, he couldn't bring himself to do it. Not in front of his crying father.
"I… I've always been proud of you too, Father. This… what I just did, was only possible because of how you've raised me." Kerl's eyes then turned to the clapping goblin. "I also… was lucky to meet a surprisingly great teacher."
"Oh… You totally should've…"
Rizz laughed and leaned back against the wall. "Seriously, you should've offered that sooner. If you'd have asked me outside of this little lesson, I wouldn't been this hard on you."
