I felt my blood boil.
I turned around towards them and started heading their way.
Lots of people get depression because anytime they are insulted like that, they just sit back and feel sorry for themselves.
Well, I've always been strong-minded, there's no way I'll let this woman go scot free after testing my patience.
I reached them and the two of them seems speechless.
I collected a cocktail from the table.
"Pretty nice." I said immediately after taking a sip.
"Hmm, it's indeed nice, the flavor is just so…" The lady in a purple dinner gown said before I interrupted.
"Who's talking about the cocktail, the cocktail is… hmm, ordinary.
I was talking about the dress, the dress looks out of this world." I said touching her dress.
"Really?"
"Of course. Besides it's the dress I personally stitched."
"What? You designed this?"
"Of course but I remembered Addie was the highest bidder in this dresses auction, could you possibly by any chance know her?"
"I don't know what you're talking about." She said nervously.
"No need to fret, Addie must really like you to have given you the purple inferno she bought at a high price."
"How could I give such an expensive stuff to someone I've never seen." Addie said coming from behind.
Addie was wearing the purple inferno I had recently auctioned.
I looked back at the lady and said "Oh so it's a fake, no wonder I felt the gown lacks elegance."
I turned around and started walking away and Addie was by my side.
"Why did you do that?" Addie asked.
"What?"
"Didn't tell her she was wearing a fake until I showed up."
"Do you know the difference between normal and total humiliation?"
"No."
POLLY'S POV.
"Miss, you don't have to worry much about it, your father's coma is as a result of his inability to breathe-in the sufficient air his brain needs to operate, as soon as he gets his surgery, he'll be fine." The nurse said.
She then picked up the stuffs she brought and then left.
"Are you sure this is the place?" I heard a voice say at the door.
"Okay then." The same voice repeated before knocking.
The person entered and I was really happy to see her.
"Aunt Tory." Perry said excitedly as he ran to hug her.
I couldn't help but giggle, they were just four years apart but Perry sees her as her one in a million aunt.
"Wow, look at you, you're so tall in just a few months. That's I'll be looking upwards by the time I see you next year." She said smiling.
"You made it your mission to be taller than dad I could only take being taller than you my mission then." Perry said pulling from the hug.
She smiled sweetly and padded his head.
She turned towards me with a big smile.
"Sister Polly, I feel so heartbroken, even if we were only separate for a months, how could you not give me a nice welcoming?"
"I had just recalled what happened to lily that I didn't notice when you came in." I teasingly said.
She gently pushed Perry aside and hurried up towards me.
When she got closer, she held my hand and said "Sister, you aren't really angry, are you?"
I smiled and pulled her closer and hugged her tightly and she hugged me back.
"What happened to uncle?" Tory said.
I pulled out of the hug and started walking towards dad's bed.
"Dad's condition is getting worse, we didn't leave you because we wanted to take an American tour.
We came because uncle Lance told us dad's getting worse."
She walked towards dad and sat down on his bed.
My phone rang and I put my hand in my back pocket and brought it out.
It was Bridget calling, I picked the call and put the phone on my ear.
"Perry." She said.
"It's Polly."
"Whatever, curfew is by 7, you'll have to sleep outdoors if you don't come back in time."
"I thought it was by 9, why is it brought forward?"
"Who cares?" She said as she ended the call.
"What happened?" Tory asked.
"We have to go, it's almost curfew." I told her as I walked up to dad and kissed his cheek.
"Good night dad." I told him.
"Good night dad." I heard Perry say.
"Nighty night." Tory said. She hasn't changed one bit.
I turned to them.
"We got to go immediately, we got only thirty minutes till curfew."
We left the room and was almost to the elevator when Tory tapped me.
"Sister, I think I had forgotten my phone, I'll go get it."
Before I could reply, she already had her headphone on and was running back to the ward.
"Sister." Perry said.
"Let's wait for her here."
TORY'S POV.
"I thought you wouldn't remember." Star said immediately as I got the headphone on.
"I got carried away with acting that I forgot the reason I was in the hospital." I said as I ran back.
"From your personality, I thought you wouldn't know how to pretend but I never expected you to be so good at it."
"I truly don't know how to pretend but when I washed the videos showing my past memories in this world, I discovered that the Tory in this world is me, she's just a bit more carefree than I am.
So in other to relate with others here, I just have to worry less and be more friendly."
"It's indeed a nice strategy."
I continued running but I bumped into someone.
"I'm sorry." I said as I continued heading towards the ward.
GLORIA'S POV.
"Does it hurt?" Nicole asked after I was bumped into.
"It did hurt but she apologized." I said shrugging.
"We better get going, if my father found out I ran away and came home late, he'll definitely take back his credit card."
I just smiled at her.
"Let's go then, I will hate to be the reason you don't shop in a day."
"You're saying it like I'm a big spender."
"Aren't you?"
TORY'S POV.
"What am I using this to do?" I asked Star pointing a little bronze something at her.
"You'll know when you get the rest." Star said.
"What about my points, you've already got it and I took the initiative to purchase a week."
"Just use the whole points making it a month."
"Are you sure?"
"Hmm."
PERRY'S POV.
Aunt Tory has always been mischievous, I hope she didn't get carried away.
"She's coming." I heard sister Polly say.
I looked forward and saw aunt Tory.
"Sorry for keeping you waiting." She said breathing heavily.
"Are you okay?" I asked her.
She smiled and said "Don't I look okay?"
"She's still in the mood to play, she's definitely okay?" Polly said.
"We should better get going, or we would have to answer to mosquitoes this night." Tory said.
"You really hate them." I said teasingly.
"Of course they're so noisy. Who would love something so noisy?" Tory said.
"You!" Polly said.
"How is that?"
"You remember you bought a very noisy puppy back then." Polly said.
"I wanted to get back at Gina, you can't blame my young naïve mind." Tory said.
JAYDEN'S POV.
"Why do you insist on investigating her, we could just track her down, secretly collect some of her DNA so we could run a paternity test." I said pouring water into the glass cup.
"Her attitude, the necklace and her face are all solid evidence that it's her, I just want to know what happened to her." Noah said from the other end of the call.
"Noah, this isn't a movie where once somebody found their long lost relative, they recognize them in an instant." I teased him as I sat down on my couch.
"Jayden, she technically resembles Nikki, just some minor difference, why wouldn't I know her?"
"Good point." I said as I stretched towards the table and picked up the cup of water I had poured.
"Nikki was totally devastated today."
"Seriously, she needs to get over what happened. How come she still remembers the event that happened when she was five so vividly."
"I feel so hopeless trying to tell you the same thing over and over again."
"I know you feel hopeless and so do I, I don't know why you all get so stupid in handling matters related to people around you.
So you know, I'm going to investigate her background and also take her DNA, if you don't have anything else to say, I'll hang up now, have a good night rest."
I hung up.
I sighed and dropped the glass of water and then heard a loud crash coming from my kitchen.
I rushed over and saw Syd and a broken ceramic vase on the floor.
I looked at him.
"Mr Sydney Miles, I didn't let you crash at my house so you could turn my house upside down, if you continue like this, I'll just have to …"
Another crash sound interrupted me.
