“Ditched him,” he says flatly.
“Cunt,” Tom adds, equally flatly.
“Ditched him how?”
Danny shrugs, and grins. His broken teeth are as frightening as they are amusing, and Ryan thinks he gets the idea.
“Just ditched him. Don’t be such a girl.”
Tom flings an empty can into the bushes; it clatters off the wire fence hidden there, and stills in the filth at the bottom of the ditch.
