When we first met
We were merely a couple
Uninterested in others
But with a distaste for struggles
And so we moved on
With a point to grow
To make the best of both worlds
And to let it snow
To enjoy the incoming spring
We kept our distance
And went about our lives
With only one incident
And yet it still weighed on us
The burden of belonging
Two seasons after we were done
And we were back to wanting
And so as summer made its turn
We decided to give it a shot
At being friends once again
With little hope for not
