Avyanna's Pov
She's back to normal again. While I am back to where we found that fortune teller, we found no clue.
I felt someone keeping an eye on me again today. I guess that the saintess is already on the move and now keeping an eye on me. I sigh and sip the tea.
"Hi."
I suddenly got startled at the whisper. I turn my head to the person who has come to me. He was smiling, but I do not know who he is.
He has the kind of black hair, tanned skin, and muscular body that would make any girl swoon. His eyes are as green as emeralds... Just like hers.
He took the chair across from where I was sitting. He called for a waiter and ordered food.
"Make sure you pay for that." I said coldly.
I can't be too comfortable. This person is either an ally or an enemy.
He suddenly laughs. I'm not going to say that this person is sane, but I swear if he is not, I'm ending him right here on the spot.
"What do you need?"
"I just find you interesting, Lady Brooke."
That made me glare at him. Knowing my name means he's been investigating me or having me followed.
"A person has been staring at you over there." He raised an eyebrow.
I felt a heavy atmosphere and when I glanced at him, he was emitting his aura. Fuck.
"I know."
"Why aren't you eliminating them? I heard that you're a great mage, rivaling the tower master." he said.
"You sure have a great source of information. That word hasn't been known." I cunningly smile. "Tower master."
His order was served. He showed a wide grin before sipping the tea.
"Wow! You're quick to catch on." He sat comfortably.
"You emit your own aura. How can I not know? You made some of my pursuers run away." I sip on the tea again and face him seriously.
"What business do you have with me?" I asked.
"I don't have any. I just want to see the person who said that could rival me." He answered.
"I'm confident." I smiled. "But not today. Maybe in the future."
He clasped his hands together and his smile didn't disappear from his lips. "And when is that future, My Lady?"
"I'm not certain when. I just know that it is in the future." I answered.
"Well, I guess I have to do my best not to be kicked out of my position."
"I never said I was interested in that position."
"You never said otherwise."
I chuckle and shake my head.
"Nope. I just want to have a simple life." I answered.
"A lady wanted a simple life?" He snorted. "But you're creating trouble for yourself. I bet you won't be able to live that life."
"I do have some problems I need to solve in order to have that."
I took a bite of the cake, and the flavor of it matched my tastes.
"It's so delicious." I whispered and took a bite again.
"Right now... Don't you need to widen your connection?"
I stopped eating and turned my gaze on him.
"Hmm." I nodded and swallowed the food in my mouth. "I already have plans. And since you approached me. Why not let me join your guild?"
"You... How did you know about that?!"
I playfully smirked. "I have a person inside the tower."
I was enjoying the smirk when he suddenly flicked my forehead and made me glare at him.
"A person. You mean Rezia?"
"How did you know that?!" I asked back with a shocked face.
"Rezia is the only person affiliated with you as she is your instructor. I also know that she has such a big mouth."
I burst into laughter because of his remark. He actually said that our Rezia is a big mouth!
Why is this person not mentioned in the original novel? He has the looks and the power to be a male lead. So, why?!
"Anyway, as I have said. I needed to join your guild to be able to know what's going to happen."
"And what will you offer?" He asked.
"I know of a mana stone mine that hasn't been discovered by anyone. I discovered it while patrolling back when I was still a border trainer."
It's not true. I didn't find it. I just read it and, as far as I can remember, it was the Marquis of Storm who discovered it. But it was after the delegation so this Tower mage could have those Mana stones.
"How can I believe you?" He asked coldly.
"It's not if I am trustworthy. It is how you can be powerful once you have that mine under you." I said. "It's not a bad deal, is it?"
"I will kill you if you trick me."
"What do I get from tricking the tower mage? You have all the glory in this empire. I am not powerful enough to surpass you right now." I answered honestly.
"I will let you join once I have confirmed it."
He finished the cake and tea that he ordered.
"We'll meet in three days." He said to me before walking away.
And soon I realized.... THAT FVCKER DIDN'T LEAVE ANY MONEY TO PAY THE FOOD HE ATE!!
