Chapter - 14: Magix

--------------

While the interdimensional portal glowed with a blue light in front of me, I carefully flipped through the pages of my new spellbook, trying to learn something new with evidently few results.

I wondered if with the power of Douglas Ramsey, "Cypher," I could have solved the mystery more easily since he possesses a superhuman ability to translate any language, human or alien, and even codes and computer languages.

His ability is not just the result of superior intelligence, but of a mutant talent that works on a subconscious level. While others have to break down a problem step by step, Cypher solves it with quick and precise insights, often without being fully aware of the process that leads him to the right answer.

"It seems that in the end, the only way is to unleash my feelings somehow," I murmured to myself, a slight smile forming on my lips. It was as if the spellbook, in a way, had a life of its own, of someone who could have harnessed its full potential.

I was still reflecting when I looked up, letting my attention drift to the female figures that were materializing from the interdimensional portal in front of me.

The Trix had arrived, and with them was an imposing ice golem, whose footsteps made the ground tremble beneath my feet. Its massive form was entirely sculpted for heavy labor, and on its back lay figures I immediately recognized.

The golem stopped in front of me, and the ice creaked ominously as it bent slightly to give me a better view of its cargo. The creatures were trapped, frozen in blocks of ice.

Their twisted and dark forms were familiar, yet there was something different about them. Even in that state, I could sense the dark energy surrounding them, but it was clearly not that of Darkar.

No, there was something else, a deeper power and perhaps even more dangerous, as it came from a completely different universe. It seemed that my disadvantage was finally showing.

"It seems you've brought something interesting," I said, letting the book close with a thud as I tucked it under my arm. I approached, my eyes carefully scrutinizing the creatures. "These are not the usual shadow creatures."

Icy nodded with her usual icy detachment. "We found them in Darkar's ruins, devouring the shadow creatures. They're different from anything we've seen before, which is why we thought you might be interested in having them for yourself."

I moved even closer, letting my hand brush against the icy surface. The cold immediately seeped into my skin, but the energy I sensed from those creatures was decidedly enticing, at least to me.

I felt a sort of vibration, a dark wave that seemed to respond to my touch. My fingers glided along the surface of the ice, tracing the contours of the creatures.

"Fascinating," I couldn't help but murmur. "It's obvious they've absorbed Darkar's power. Perhaps in some way it suited them; I wonder if this could lead to further mutation on their part."

Stormy, growing increasingly impatient, stepped closer. "They were much more aggressive than we expected. We had to use a convergence spell to stop them. Even then, it wasn't easy."

A satisfied smile spread across my face as I continued to study the creatures. "You were lucky," I reflected aloud. "Things could have gone very differently." My words were not meant to frighten but were merely a subtle warning.

"From those words, can I assume you know something about what these creatures are?" Darcy asked, with an expression of curiosity and frustration. "They were honestly tougher than any other shadow creature we've ever faced."

Icy and Stormy joined the discussion, their faces equally perplexed. I could sense the tension in the air, the uncertainty that lingered among us. These creatures were not mere shadows; that much was clear to everyone.

I nodded, bringing a hand to my chin as I pondered. "Yes, I know what they are," I said, my voice calm and measured. "They're called Grimm. These creatures have an ancient history and originate far from the magical dimension."

The Trix stared at me, attentive to my words. I knew that the knowledge I was about to share could change their understanding of the entire magical universe they had known up to now.

"The Grimm," I continued, "are the result of the rivalry between two ancient gods. One was the god of light, who brought order and life, and the other was the god of darkness, who brought chaos and destruction. Their eternal struggle for control of the world gave rise to these creatures."

"The Grimm are the embodiment of the purest negative emotions, shaped by the darkness and resentment of that god. They were created to be predators, relentless hunters that feed on fear and suffering." As I spoke, I could see the interest growing in the Trix's eyes.

"This divine rivalry," I went on, "left the world divided in two, with the Grimm satisfying their hatred, living off their hatred, consuming humans for no other reason than to inspire fear. Everything they do has no biological sense. They are an endless horde, determined to erase everything from existence, making absolutely certain that when humanity is gone, no one will ever realize we existed in the first place."

The Trix listened in silence, and I could see that my words had the desired effect, making them more inclined to mature over time and use their powers more wisely.

I continued, my tone becoming less grim. "If you've managed to capture a few, it's only because they weren't the most dangerous. And to prevent them from becoming a threat to us, it's best to put them to our service."

Icy looked at me with evident curiosity, clearly sensing there was more to this than she could see, but trying to maintain a certain degree of composure in front of me. "And how do you plan to do that, Maxwell?" she asked.

I smiled and said, "I have a few ideas," as my gaze shifted back to the creatures trapped in the ice. "But first, I need to do something that might turn them into our most powerful weapon."

I touched the ice and decided to absorb the power of the Grimm. The change that swept through my body was immediate and overwhelming. I felt a surge of dark energy coursing through me, bringing every fiber of my being to life.

My skin began to mutate, becoming progressively paler until it reached an almost spectral shade, white as bone. Beneath the surface of my skin, red streaks started to glow with intensity.

These lines snaked along my muscles, pulsing to the rhythm of my heartbeat, giving me a haunting appearance, much like cursed markings that covered my entire body.

My attire changed accordingly, adapting to my new form, now clinging tightly to my body as if it had been forged directly onto my skin. I truly loved this new advantage roll I had obtained.

The dominant black color was interspersed with red highlights, faintly glowing as if the armor itself was alive and pulsating. It seemed like a fusion of metal and shadow, a material that was neither entirely solid nor entirely ethereal.

The transformation didn't stop there. I felt my shoulders broaden, my chest expand, and my muscles tighten, filling me with new strength. It was as if every part of me had been enhanced, transformed into a perfect war machine.

Two white, curved horns sprouted from my head, sharp and menacing, curving upwards. They were the physical manifestation of my new nature—or perhaps it was better called a curse, depending on one's perspective.

My hair had grown longer and turned white, as white as fresh snow. It floated slightly around me, moved by an invisible wind, almost as if it had a life of its own. It resembled a spectral crown, framing my transformed face.

My eyes were now a deep red, glowing like burning embers in the darkness. When I opened them, I perceived the world differently, more sharply, more raw. Every detail was clear, every shadow visible, and I could sense the negative emotions emanating from the witches beside me.

Every movement I made was accompanied by black vapor crackling around me, an aura that seemed to distort space and light. I honestly felt very good, as if nothing could stop me.

And yet, it wasn't just a feeling of power; it was something deeper, something I couldn't quite grasp, and I didn't know if it was a good thing or if I had made a huge mistake.

"What do you think?" I couldn't help but ask, as I clenched my fist to see if my body felt any discomfort in this new form, but it seemed there were no issues.

The Trix looked at me with less surprise than I had expected, as if they had become accustomed to my transformations. This reassured me; I didn't want their fear of me to become an obstacle. It was important that they saw me as a powerful ally, not as a threat.

They moved closer to me, almost as if they wanted to test my new form. Their presence was warm and familiar, and I could feel their bodies pressing slightly against mine, which I welcomed gladly.

Darcy approached first, her penetrating gaze accompanied by a mischievous smile. She leaned close to my ear, whispering in a flirtatious tone, "I wouldn't mind getting fucked in this form, Daddy." Her words were charged with provocation, as if she wanted to test my limits.

Stormy, increasingly direct, leaned against my arm, her gaze demanding attention. "I didn't think you could get even cooler," she said excitedly, touching my hair with enthusiasm, which seemed to please me greatly.

Icy, with her usual cold demeanor, studied me for a long moment, assessing every detail of my transformation. Then, with a subtle smile, she said, "I prefer this form of yours to the one you had when you absorbed the Omega Dimension Guardian." Her voice was calm but carried a hint of satisfaction.

"I'm sure I'll have enough time to please all three of you to the best of my abilities," I said, and with a decisive gesture, I snapped my fingers, freeing the remaining Grimm from the ice blocks imprisoning them.

I expected a violent reaction or an attempt to escape, but surprisingly, the creatures remained still. They stared at me with their red, penetrating eyes, as if waiting for orders.

It was a strange yet natural feeling, as if I had always known they would be my allies. "Come to me." Without hesitation, the creatures moved slowly toward me, positioning themselves at my side.

They were imposing but behaved like trained animals, docile under my command. I couldn't help but reach out and stroke their heads, as if they were simple dogs. Their skin was cold and rough, but they showed no signs of aggression.

I gestured to the girls, signaling they could approach without fear. Stormy's expression immediately brightened. "Awesome!" she exclaimed with enthusiasm. "Now they look completely harmless, unlike before."

Darcy nodded, her gaze fixed on the Grimm. "Yes, now we have more allies on our side," she added, with a note of satisfaction in her voice.

Icy, with her usual cold smile, seemed pleased. "This is how I like to see things," she said, her icy gaze locking with mine. "And now? What are your plans?" she asked, her voice calm but with an undertone of curiosity.

I paused for a moment to reflect. "I think it's time to pay a visit to Magix, don't you?" I said with a smile, observing the Trix's reactions. My tone was decisive, almost enthusiastic about the next step.

"But first, we need to deal with them," I added, indicating the Grimm who were watching us in silence, as if waiting for my next command. For now, I had no immediate use for them.

I felt my instinct take control, something deep inside me guiding me. My shadow began to distort and enlarge, as if it had a life of its own. It expanded quickly, covering a large part of the room with a kind of dark energy. The shadow moved with unsettling fluidity, enveloping the Grimm one by one.

The creatures allowed themselves to be captured without resistance. It was as if they knew their will now belonged to me. The shadow absorbed them completely until the last trace of the Grimm disappeared, leaving only a surreal silence.

When it was over, the shadow returned to its place, retracting to my feet as if nothing had happened. I turned to the Trix, who were looking at me with expressions of approval, which I accepted gladly.

"Now we're ready," I said, my smile even wider, which seemed fitting in this form. "Now I want to see what interesting things await me in the Magix dimension."
