The group maneuvered through the purple fog in a compact diamond formation. 

Naomi was the vanguard. She used her sonar sense to differentiate between the sounds of the wild and those of deadly magic beasts lurking in the shadows.

Many times already on this journey, she had diverted their path in efforts to prevent possible direct confrontations.

That said, Hade still made sure that they stayed on the right course. After all, their aim was to reach the mountain in the shortest time possible.

Aria was also in front. In the case of a sudden sneak attack or ambush, her job was to defend Naomi from immediate danger, no matter how unlikely the scenario might've seemed.

Also, as the only defensive law practitioner on the team, Hade found this position most suited for her.

Samal, Chris, Caleb, and May operated the flanks, while he and Quinn constructed the rear.
