Chapter 1: Coming Home
It has been a busy and hardworking life for Miranda and she was excited to see her parents, grandparents and especially Charlie. Miranda struggled to keep in contact and to visit home to were she hope they understand her situation and hope that Charlie is now old enough to understand why he hasn't had a sister to grow up with. There is a Twelve years age gap between her and Charlie. With Charlie now aged 12 and her 23 it makes things very complicated when she took Charlie out in her rare visits home.
Sitting in the back seat of the army couch Miranda watches trees go by in the cold snowy weather In late December. ''Are you excited to see your family again Maz?'' One of her army privates Primrose asks, ''Yes, Yes I am I just wonder what Charlie is doing now he is 12.'' Miranda replies back not moving her head to gage in the conversation. ''You do keep track of him don't you'' Primrose nudges her ''never let one birthday slip..but still you never get the chance to go down personally to say it.'' Primrose finishes and looks away.
***The Factory***
As Willy and Charlie were experimenting on new ingredients, Charlie had no idea that his sister is coming back, he never thought to write a letter to Miranda as he never knows if she would receive them.
***Time Skip***
Five hours later, Miranda arrived at her destination, she always felt embarrassed walking out as she was the only one in the Town/City to of joined the Army.
As she leaves the bus station Miranda stops at a candy shop the same one Granpa Joe worked in 'I better get something for Chalie and all' she thinks to herself while opening the door she walks in and immediately knowing that Charlie will like to have the Wonka Whipple-Scrumptious Fudgemallow Delight, as Miranda picks it up and the rest of stuff for her family she goes over to the checkout instantly recognizing the old lady she went down to every Sunday to help her with house chores or just to talk, as she hasn't got any family no more. 'Oh, poor Ms. Brown' Miranda says to herself getting close to the old lady.
''Hello Ms.Brown, I hope you remember me.'' Miranda says seeing the old lady turn slowly around with a look of confusion squinting her eyes to see better, she instantly recognized who was calling her name, ''Oh my dear how have you been? Its been years I've been worried sick you know, all the news of what's been happening in the army, oh my dear you must have a cup of tea with me'' Ms.Brown replies not stopping to take of breath from all the excitement. ''I will probably tomorrow Ms.Brown'' Miranda replies back while paying the cashier and picking her stuff up, ''I've just come back and off to see my family, see you tomorrow,'' Miranda says leaving the shop hearing Ms.Brown say goodbye.
Clutching her shopping and her head down while trying not to slip on the slippery path while fighting the heavy storms, Miranda opens the gate to home, just a few steps forwards Miranda looks up and in shock as she drops the bag of gifts in the snow. ''What..'' she sputters ''how can...a house disappear'' Miranda says ''Wheres my family?'' she says aloud grabbing her stuff and quickly running back to the candy shop hoping Ms.Brown is still there.
Opening the door with relief Ms.Brown was just leaving, ''Wheres my family? Whats happened to them?'' Miranda immediately says so quickly. As Miranda was fumbling with words Ms.Brown holds her arm and leads her to her home. ''I wondered how long it would take till you would look up'' Ms.Brown replied ''You never do, do you'' with her saying that Miranda locks her eyes onto Ms. Brown as she closes the door. With a sigh Ms.Brown begins to talk while trying to watch where she was walking, ''You see that factory'' Ms.Brown says pointing her stick at it, ''Yes Mr.Wonka's Chocolate factory...how has that got to do with my family disappearance?'' Miranda quickly says ''hold on my dear I just started telling you'' Ms.Brown says ''Let's get to my home so I can sit down my legs are hurting'' the old lady says with a smile on her face.
***Short Time Skip***
Miranda and Ms.Brown finally sit down with a hot cup of tea in their hands. ''Now did you hear that last year Mr.Wonka was inviting five children into his factory and the ones who found the golden ticket would win to go.'' Ms.Brown says, ''Yes I do remembering seeing about it and the four who found the tickets.'' Miranda says.
''Your Charlie found the last ticket'' Ms.Brown says seeing Miranda's mouth slowly gape open, ''and he won, he won the factory all I heard he is heir to Mr.Wonka, at first he refused as Mr.Wonka disagreed in your family to go live in the factory with him, but in the end, Mr.Wonka rethought and said yes.'' Ms.Brown quickly says taking a sip of her tea ''I am surprised no one told you'' she says making Miranda be lost for words.
''No..no one did but I do tend to move bases quite a lot so maybe they did contact me and got the wrong base'' Miranda says wishing herself that, that was the case of the reason of not knowing but the look on Ms.Brown's face said differently. ''It's a lot to take in'' Miranda says while placing the warm cup on her lower lip. ''It was for all'' Ms.Brown says ''I never stopped thinking about you my dear, the day your family was moving in I yelled at them to tell you'' she said while brushing the crumbs off her old, creased dress. ''I cannot let you sleep alone, how about tonight you stay here, it's been years since I had company, then tomorrow we can solve how to tell your family that you are here.'' Ms.Brown says, ''Thank you I would like that.'' Miranda replies back with a small smile on her face.
