Chapter 19: Chapter 19 - Kuina Healing
Kuina still felt trapped in a state of shock and deep fear, even though I had already calmed her down after the accident that happened to her. Every time she closed her eyes, a glimpse of that incident would flash in her mind, causing her heart to race and cold sweat to trickle down her forehead.
After some time had passed, I continued to try to help soothe Kuina, who was still traumatized by the accident.
After a while, I heard hurried footsteps approaching our location.
Mr. Koshiro, my teacher, quickly rushed towards the door with a concerned and worried expression on his face. With quick steps, he headed towards the source of the noise that fell in the Dojo.
Mr. Koshiro immediately saw what was happening in the Dojo and focused his attention on his pale-faced daughter, Kuina, and me sitting next to her.
With his attention focused on his daughter Kuina, Mr. Koshiro immediately asked what had just happened. I quickly explained that Kuina slipped while climbing the stairs and fell from the top.
Upon hearing my explanation, Mr. Koshiro began to understand the cause and effect of the recent incident. His eyes were filled with concern as he realized the lingering trauma experienced by Kuina and the importance of providing the appropriate attention and support to help her recover.
With gentleness, Mr. Koshiro lifted Kuina from her seat. He embraced her tightly, providing comfort and protection to his daughter who was still shaken by the traumatic event. Kuina buried her face in her father Koshiro's shoulder, feeling the warmth and implied tranquility from her father's embrace.
With slow steps, Koshiro took Kuina to her comfortable room in the Dojo. Inside the room, a calm and peaceful atmosphere filled the air, providing a safe place for Kuina to rest and recover. Koshiro gently placed Kuina on the bed, ensuring she felt comfortable and secure.
"Rest for a while, Kuina. Let your body and mind get the rest they need," Koshiro said softly, letting those words sink into Kuina's heart.
Kuina looked at her father with tired yet grateful eyes. She felt her father's caring presence as an irreplaceable form of support. In silence, she nodded her head as a sign of approval and expressed her gratitude in her heart.
Koshiro left Kuina with a sense of relief, knowing that his daughter would gradually recover from the deep emotional wounds. However, he also realized that the healing process would require sufficient time and ongoing attention.
In the following days, Mr. Koshiro diligently took care of Kuina. He established a regular schedule for rest, provided healthy meals, and made time for Kuina to talk and share her feelings when she felt ready. Mr. Koshiro also involved experienced therapists to help Kuina overcome the trauma and anxiety that haunted her.
Meanwhile, Kuina remained in her bed, contemplating and processing the events that had occurred. She kept replaying that incident in her memory, but with the support and love from her father, Zorro, Coby, and the students of Isshin Dojo, her fear and anxiety slowly began to fade away.
Every day, Mr. Koshiro took the time to talk with Kuina. They shared stories and laughter. Mr. Koshiro listened patiently, provided wise advice, and strengthened Kuina's spirit to rise above the trauma she had experienced.
As time went by, Kuina felt her strength gradually returning. She started to envision a future filled with hope, and her determination to overcome her fears grew stronger.
