Chapter 1: Freedom
I was a genius, one of the smartest humans to ever be born. I had everything I could want: wealth, fame, power. But I still didn't feel anything, my life was emptier with each passing day. I was a serious, cold and pragmatic man, people were scared to talk to me fearing... I don't know. Shame? or maybe embarrassment? I was alone until the end, a gifted orphan with no parents and no friends.
I buried myself in my work and when I wasn't working I was binge watching shows and anime. I especially enjoyed One Piece, I admired Luffy, the main character. I liked how he could sacrifice everything for his friends. You could even say I envied him and his natural ability to make friends.
One day I went to bed, tiredly sighing. I didn't want to wake up again, to be buried in more work. I was the figure leading recent scientific innovation, I had a big responsibility, everyone part of the scientific community knew my name, I couldn't give up, but I felt empty... Is there a point in life if you aren't free? Why did it have to be me? Why did I have to be bound to the ground by work and responsibilities? I wanted to reach for the skies, for the Heavens but... but...I am a shackled slave bound by humanity to never be truly free.
After that revelation I sensed the darkness enveloping me and I fell asleep with the cruelty of this world on my mind, how I hoped to be in One Piece, to be able to forge my own destiny, to be so free that my very existence being a threat to the people who tried to shackle me to the ground....
When I opened my eyes again I saw a concrete ceiling. Where was I? This wasn't my room? I looked around the room and it seemed to be some kind of prison cell. What a strange dream this was. I wanted to start moving but as soon as I tried, I felt a excruciating pain in my whole body. I looked down to see I was chained, my whole body bound to the ground.
I heard a strange sound and looked in front of me. I saw a huge metallic door creaking. The door was opening, in walked a bulky man dressed in a fancy suit. He got close to me and yelled:
"Wake up, you trash, I have money to make!"
I was confused... What was happening? It feels too real to be a dream. Did I get kidnapped by some slave traders? It was impossible! Slave trafficking was almost extinct! And I lived in a nice neighborhood that was very secure! So what was happening? The well dressed man put a key in the lock attached to the chains and freed me. Suddenly the pain in my whole body began to dissipate and I felt as if a weight has been lifted off my chest. I felt as if he was strong and I didn't want to risk fighting him. I have to treat this as the temporary reality because I don't know if I am dreaming or not.
The man proceeded to take me to a room where some maids began to cut my hair. Something was definitely wrong with this situation. When I looked in the mirror, I saw that, instead of my usual black hair, my hair was a greyish white and my eyes were of a brilliant sky blue colour. My face had childlike features which I didn't have before. The maids put some clothes on me and the bulky man chained me again and yelled:
"Follow me, you dog!"
I complied and followed him through a long hall and where I saw half animal half humans in cages, people with really long legs and arms, giants and some creatures that seemed to be a mix of fish and humans.
I stepped through the hall as the other soon-to-be slaves where looking at me with pity. The bulky man which I assume was a slave trader put me in a cage. On the cage was written "Sora Minamoto" which I assumed was my name.
Now that I think about it I don't remember what my name is, when I try to remember my head hurts... It is safe to assume that I am not in my original world anymore, I still remember the majority of my memories but it seems that I forgot everything that can help me to identify what my name is. The slave trader put me in my cage. I looked to my right and I saw a half dog half human man. I looked at him and asked: "Where are we?" He looked back at me with empty eyes and said:"We are about to be sold to the world nobles"
"Who are the world nobles?"
"The people at the top of the world, some say they're god's, the Celestial Dragons" He replied with an emotionless tone.
Then I realised... I was in the world of One Piece. "HAHAHAHAHHA" I began to laugh uncontrollably. Everyone including the slaves and the guards began looking at me weirdly. The closest guard to my cage came and hit me with his whip "Shut up, trash!". I didn't care about the pain, I AM FINALLY FREE!
