Chapter 2: Genius Dragon

Three years went by in a flash; Mark was now old enough to leave his house.

Today was the day his father had decided to show him around the Holy Land.

Mark's father, Saint Charles, was proud of his son; since the day he was born, he had shown the demeanor of a god.

"He is my son, Mark Rose."

"A worthy heir to Rose!"

Saint Charles laughed loudly and introduced Mark to another man, one of his family's close friends.

Saint Rosward.

Saint Rosward, on the other hand, wasn't feeling very happy after looking at Mark, as he too had his son with him today.

But his son wasn't as satisfactory as Mark was.

"Why is your hair pink? You are so ugly."

Charlos, the son of Saint Rosward, said bluntly after looking at Mark.

Hearing this, the cute-looking Mark was completely stunned.

He looked at Charlos's thick, uneven lips, beady eyes, and balding head and twitched his lips, but he recovered from his speechless state soon.

He was someone who had the memories of his previous life; talking to a balding three-year-old was not that difficult for him.

"Oh, Charlos, you are wrong on this one."

Charlos's nose dripped snot as he looked at Mark stupidly, wondering why he was wrong.

Mark continued, pretending he didn't see Charlos's snot dripping to the ground.

"The pink hair is a symbol of the Rose family; my hair signifies the glory of Rose."

"I am Mark Rose, nice to meet you."

Charlos was impressed by the words 'glory' and 'family symbol' that were mentioned by Mark.

So he instantly changed his opinion.

"Oh, then your hair looks good."

Smiling at Charlos, Mark stretched out his hand forward.

"I am Mark."

Inhaling back his snot, Charlos stared at the hand stretched out before him, while looking completely clueless.

What was he supposed to do with the hand Mark stretched out for him? He doesn't remember.

Meanwhile, Saint Rosward had enough of his son making a fool of himself before Saint Charles.

So he lightly rebuked Charlos.

"Charlos, what did I tell you about greeting your equals?"

As Charlos's brain was slowly putting two and two together, Mark was almost about to pack up and leave.

'Equal? With this pig? Please, I have an image to maintain here.'

Mark had inherited his looks from his parents, Charles Rose and Luna Rose, both of whom were good-looking people in their own right.

His hair was spiky and pink in color, making him look like a younger version of Goku Black in his Super Saiyan Rose state.

At least that's what Mark told himself to make him seem badass; for all intents and purposes, he was a kid with a baby face.

But he had all the hope in the world that he would grow into the badass-looking man he was aspiring to be; the fundamentals were the same after all.

'And if nothing else, I have life return as an option.'

Mark didn't want to let go of his dream; it was either Goku Black or Natsu, and he wasn't about to aim for Natsu.

"Oh, I remember now."

Charlos's brain finally clicked in place; he stretched his hand forward and met Mark's, who, for courtesy's sake, had kept it held out.

"I am Charlos, nice to meet you, friend."

Charlos's self-introduction made Rosward laugh happily.

He lovingly patted his son on the head.

"Yes, Charlos, Mark is your equal and friend."

"Go ahead, play with him; Father has to chat with his friend too."

Charlos nodded and took Mark by the hand, impatiently pulling him towards his manor.

Meanwhile, Charles smiled cheerfully at Mark and silently gave his acknowledgment.

All this time he didn't intervene and watched Mark handle Charlos; he felt proud seeing how his son handles everything.

Be it Charlos's rude words or lack of etiquette, his son was a jack of all trades and great at socializing; he couldn't be happier as a father.

"Let's go, Saint Rosward."

Charles gave his consent, and they walked towards the lawn chair, where maids and butlers were ready to serve them at all times.

Mark, meanwhile, was ignoring everything Charlos was saying, and was using his observation Haki to feel his body instead.

For three years straight, he was always practicing observation Haki; the only time not spent practicing his Haki was when he was doing his essential needs to stay alive.

And times such as these.

"Look, Mark, my father brought this mermaid just this morning; she also has a pink tail."

"Do you like it?"

Mark resisted the urge to beat Charlos on the head. What was the meaning of showing him this?!

'Just because I have pink hair doesn't mean I want to see everything pink!'

'Sigh, whatever, he's a kid, a very dumb one.'

Smiling without a single wrong expression on his face, he looked at the mermaid swimming around the tank.

"She is indeed gorgeous."

Mark replied politely, but this made Charlos very happy.

Charlos was smiling a droopy smile and excitedly led Mark to his own personal playground.

Mark just rolled his eyes and went along with it.

He might not like Charlos, but building good relationships was also a part of noble life.

And Mark knew the importance of having connections.

Chapter 3: Noble Life

Playtime was over and Charlos happily waved Mark goodbye; Mark also waved back at him and slowly walked away, his destination being the Rose household.

Charlos had become his close friend; building friendly relationships was very easy for Mark; he didn't live his previous life in vain after all.

As Mark was walking back to his household, a team of guards was surrounding him, guarding him in an airtight fashion.

'Father let me go and play with Charlos, but he told the guards to follow me; I would say it's for the best.'

'If someone like Fisher Tiger happens to meet me when I am walking around, I'll die in a heartbeat.'

Can that actually happen within the Holy Land? No, it was unlikely, but Mark didn't like to take chances.

So he had zero opinions about the strong guards surrounding him, privacy be damned.

'The guards can do their thing; I have a much more important concern right now.'

'My Observation Haki hasn't grown in range for a month.'

'I can fully observe the Rose family property, but I can't see any further than that.'

'I may have hit a limit.'

Mark was sure of this; it's been almost 3 years, give or take, that he was training his observation haki; he knew he was hitting a limit.

He had spent all these years trying different ways to activate, deactivate, sense, feel, and even smell with observation haki.

Of course he couldn't do many of these things yet, but it was a work in progress.

He figured experimenting with Haki is what will show him the correct path forward.

'I am from a world where nothing like this was possible.'

'Haki is nothing less than a superpower for me. Who will not spend their time playing around with their own superpowers?'

Stopping his thoughts for a second, he looked at another celestial dragon walking around with a group of long-legged tribe people.

'Long leg tribe, trippy.'

Seeing the disproportionately large legs and a regular-sized body, Mark shook his head; this was obviously unnatural; that's not how biology works.

'Were they artificially modified in ancient times? This world used to have very advanced technology, before the void century.'

'Someone had to have created the ancient weapons, right?'

Mark was pretty sure the ancient people were responsible for this.

They must be doing some crazy genetic experiments too, just like vegapunk does right now.

Just look at the sea kings, a giraffe fish? What kind of creature is that!

"Whatever, artificially created or not, it's not my problem."

"Let's go."

Mark commanded his guards, and they quickly made way for him. He was done seeing the long-legged tribe; he must now go home.

He walked for a while longer before reaching his yard; there he found his mother, who was sitting and drinking tea while a dancer danced before her.

"Mark! Come here, sweetie!"

Mark smiled and cheerfully reached for his mother, who easily picked him up and sat him down on her lap.

She was a woman who kept herself healthy; as the lady of the Rose household, she couldn't look bad.

"Did you have fun with Charlos, sweetie? I heard he showed you a pink mermaid; do you want me to get one for you?"

Mark shook his head; no, he wasn't interested in that kind of thing.

The only pink mermaid he wanted to get was Shirahoshi, who was the ancient weapon Poseidon.

Normal mermaids were worthless to him, he would rather use his superpowers and have fun messing around.

"No, Mother, I don't want one, and honestly, Carlos was really boring."

"If he wasn't Saint Rosward's son and their next heir, I wouldn't have given him a second look."

Mark's disregard didn't make his mom the slightest bit angry, instead she was happily hugging her son.

"Sweety, I am so proud of you."

Luna understood how hard it was for a three-year-old child to suppress boredom and act for the family.

The fact that Mark didn't leave, and did something he could have avoided without any trouble on his part, made her very proud.

"And Mark, do you want me to dye your hair?"

She asked with some concern; she knew Mark got his pink hair from her, so when she heard Charlos called him ugly, she wasn't sure if his mind would be negatively affected.

"No, Mother, it looks so good on you; no way will it look bad on me!"

Mark exclaimed, Please, he was going to show the world horrors of Goku Black; how can he change his hair colour because of a word from Charlos?

"Oh honey! Thank you so much!"

Mark smiled happily as Lady Luna caressed his head warmly. She was happy that Mark wasn't sad about Carlos's words.

Because those were pure nonsense, her baby boy was very good, with chubby cheeks, grey eyes, a healthy body, and fair skin with her signature pink hair.

He was a model celestial dragon, according to her, a symbol of beauty and perfection; that's how she kept herself, and that's how her son will keep himself as well.

"I am proud of you, Mark."

Luna told Mark how incredibly proud she was of him; Mark smugly smiled back in return.

Then both mother and son sat down and began enjoying the dancer's dance again.

Seeing the smooth moves before him, Mark remembered she was supposedly a professional dancer, and he had to agree; her moves were indeed good.

Mark decided to stop training his Haki and relaxed; spending time with family was equally important, always training will make even superpowers seem boring.

Mark wouldn't want to get bored and stop his progress; now that would be quite terrible.
