Chapter 6: Devil Fruit Clash
"Devil fruit user? Oh, really? What fruit did you get?"
"I don't need to tell you, bastard," he said, lifting his sword up in the air. He struck down, creating a large impact and causing the ground beneath him to crack.
I took a step back, dodging his attack in case he had haki. Through from the attack, it seemed like only his devil fruit was involved. It reminded me me a bit of Whitebeard's fruit, but much weaker. He rushed forward again, creation a shockwave from his feet as he dashed toward me. A slash, then a second slash came at an impressive speed, that I narrowly dodged. But he must've scratched me with his blade, indicating that he couldn't hurt me.
I retaliated with an uppercut, infusing my fist with my logia powers. The impact caused a wave of force, sending him flying backwards.
"Gah, what the hell is that?" he shouted, rubbing his jaw. He was unable to stand up straight.
"Oh, nothing," I shrugged. "Now, would you like to turn yourself in or punched again?"
"How the hell do your punches hurt so much," he gasped, barely able to lift his sword.
"Who knows," I shrugged. "This is the first time I've punched like this."
"DON'T BULLSHIT ME!" he shouted, infusing his arm with whatever powers he had. "Take this!"
He swung his sword down again, creating a powerful shockwave that destroyed everything in front of him. The ground shattered, and trees fell over. But once again, his attack was useless again logia fruits.
"Hey, don't destroy the landscape," I taunted.
"Got damn it, guh! A logia user, huh?"
"You got me."
"Everyone, attack him at the same time!" he shouted, commanding his crew.
But there was no response.
"H-hello? Anyone?" he looked around, noticing the bodies scattered everywhere. Either everyone had run away, or they had already been defeated. "Impossible."
"Looks like it's just you and me," I smirked, walking forward.
"No, you're wrong. We're not done yet. I still got a final trick up my sleeve."
"Then show it to me, won't you?"
"Hahaha, logia or not, this attack's gotta work! I'll bury you ALIVE!"
He slammed the ground with his bare hands, sending cracks all around the area. His eyes started glowing a bright red as the veins in his arms turned black. He raised his arms, causing the ground to split open as the cracks got larger and deeper. The earth beneath me started sinking as well, but I stayed afloat.
"How are you gonna bury me if I can float?"
"Don't underestimate my powers, fool!"
He slammed the ground once again, sending a wave of energy through the cracks. A giant hand, made of rocks and soil, reached up and grabbed onto my leg, pulling me into the crack.
As it pulled me underground, he sealed the opening with his power, trapping me. But it didn't hurt, nor was I injured from his attack. I simply released my logia powers, allowing my body to dissolve into dust and escape the confines of the ground.
"That's pretty cool," I admitted. "But it's gonna take more than that."
"Damn it! Damn it all!" he cursed.
"Why not just turn yourself in? The navy's gonna catch you eventually if you don't have a boat nor a crew."
"Shit...GOT DAMN IT..." he cursed. "Fine. I'll turn myself in. No more punches, please."
"Ooohh, that's great."
"Just...don't punch me, please."
"Alright, alright. Oh wait, I don't have handcuffs or that sort of thing. Guess I'll knock you unconscious then."
"Wha- hey, wait a second—"
Before he could say anything, I punched him square in the head, knocking him out instantly.
"There we go."
Lillian finally showed up after a moment, having walked the entire way around the area.
"That was amazing," she exclaimed, running toward their ship. "There should be transponder snails on their ship since their stole ours. We can call the navy to take him away. Ah, but you kinda destroyed their ship. Let's hope that they're okay."
"Yup."
But before she reached the ship, she turned around and gave me a determined yet lovely gaze. "Hey Eden. Could I join you on your adventures?"
