Chapter 65: life got in the way

Damien sighed heavily before responding. "Life got in the way I guess," he said ruefully, staring out across the dark waters of the lake.

Elena turned to face him fully now, cupping his cheek with one hand and turning his face towards hers. "Well then," she said firmly but gently, "let's make sure life doesn't get in our way anymore."

Damien felt a surge of desire course through his veins at Elena's words. He leaned in to capture her lips once again, deepening the kiss with a sense of urgency. His hands trailed down her back, pulling her closer to him as he savored the feel of her soft curves pressed against his body

Damien shrugged nonchalantly, "What about I bring my family along for the celebration?" he asked, his eyes twinkling mischievously.

Arya grinned back at him, "I like the way you think."
