I gazed out the window, mesmerized by the falling snow. I miss wearing a snow-white dress every now and then. I can't get the nostalgia of my young friend Calix and I under his snow out of my head. For me, he is just a friend, but he took a turn and developed feelings for me that I turned down.
I treasured our friendship, and I don't want to bet on love when I already know he's not the one for me. Our friendship is more important than an intimate relationship that could endanger it. But, despite my efforts, it appears to have been shuttered in pieces.
"Gosh! It's freaking cold!" exclaimed Mino, and I turned to face him. I'm not sure why, but his words earlier upset me once more.
"I hope you freeze to death!" I whispered irritably, Mino had his back facing me and he's staring at the portrait on the wall that I had seen earlier. I'm not sure why, but something he said earlier irritated me. But I don't have any right because, first and foremost, I don't have a compelling reason to be upset. I took a deep breath but was immediately peeved by Calix's sly grin at me.
I immediately raised an eyebrow at him, and he smirked even wider. He's really getting on my nerves, and I want to smash both his head and Mino's. "Here are merchant's cloths for you to disguise," Calix said, grinning foolishly at me once more. "Do you want me to rip your mouth open?" I asked flatly, but he just laughed. "Looks like you really found your match, Vreihya," he said, making me raise an eyebrow.
"It's his loss, not mine," I said coldly, dismissing what Mino had said earlier. I'll just stick to my plan, and I shouldn't feel as painful as I did before. He is the one who must fall, not me. Having feelings for him will only cause me problems in the future. Instead of falling in love with him, I let him fall in love with me. Calix's intense gaze made me smile bitterly.
"It hurts me to see you like this! If only I were your partner-" he began, and I immediately stopped him. "I feel sorry for myself, Calix," I said coldly, "I don't need other people's pity because I know my situation." He just smirked. "You haven't changed much; you're still the tough princess I used to know," he said solemnly. We remained silent for a few moments before he shut his mouth and stood up straight.
"I have to go! Mother will wonder why I'm missing," he said softly, and I nodded in response. He was about to turn away when he caught sight of me. "Even if you're not doing anything, Vreihya, others can feel your charisma; only a fool won't fall for your charm," he said with a wink at me, and I only raised an eyebrow.
I was once again alone in this house with the mortal, but I had no intention of talking to him. My ego is bruised as a result of his earlier statement. I just went to bed because I don't want to make the sacrifice of lying on the floor for him. I couldn't stop myself from falling asleep a few minutes later.
A loud opening of what appeared to be a metal door jolted me awake. Even though it was difficult for me to open my eyes, I forced myself to gaze at the source. I'm not sure why my body feels weak and something appears to be choking me. I noticed a figure approaching me right away. I'm not sure why, but I started trembling with fear. What is going on? Why am I so terrified?
The room I was in was pitch black, and only the open door provided illumination. I was almost startled when I saw what he was holding in his right hand. It was a whip. I crawled away, but I was choked by the chain tied around my neck because I was frightened when he whipped the floor, which made a terrible sharp sound. What is going on?
Because the chain was tightly tied to me and appeared to be sinking into my neck, I immediately felt what appeared to be a flow of blood. "How is my little pet?" I was instantly terrified by his cold voice.
He quickly closed the gap between us and aimed the whip at me. Because of the intense pain it was causing on my back, I immediately shrieked and submerged my nails in the floor. I just felt a lot of blood flowing out of my mouth.
He hit me repeatedly in various parts of my body, and the intense pain caused me to scream. My body was becoming very weak as I rattled with fear.
"Please! Enough!" I cried out as a plea . But he quickly hit me on the back again, as if I was paralyzed from the pain. "Didn't I told you not to speak without my permission?" he snorts angrily, as I struggle to get out of my crouch on the floor.
I can't seem to throw up that much blood, and my body doesn't appear to have room for another blow. I saw the entrance of another creature with my sluggish eyes, but the shape of her body told me she was a woman. She ran over to hug the man who had been tormenting me.
"Her bruises and whip marks aren't enough, my love! You're being gentle with her," she said arrogantly, which irritated me. "Later I will torture her a good bit," said the man coldly, who I didn't recognize because his voice sounded deep. Isn't the suffering I'm feeling right now enough? "Extremely great, my love," the woman said cheerfully as they both shared a kiss.
I feel sick from what I've seen since they appear to be so desperate for each other and they don't even realize there is someone here who can see. When they ended what they were doing, the woman turned around and was about to walk out the door when she came to a halt.
"Kill her... Mino," my eyes immediately widened when I heard the name. I glanced up at the man I felt that is staring at me, and the surroundings seemed to brighten up. I rattled in sheer terror as I could clearly see the mortal's face. He grinned at me with a mocking look on his face.
My heart pounded as he lifted his whip and prepared to strike me again.
"STOP!" I immediately took a seat and emerged to catch my breath, as if everything was true. This is why I despise sleeping in the cold. I'm having nightmares because of the weather. I immediately check my back to make sure there was no bruise or blood leaking from it. That is an absolute nightmare! But when I heard his voice, I became even more nervous. "Are you okay?" he asked, but I quickly pushed myself to the side of the bed.
I didn't want him to reach or even make contact with me. My dream terrified me, and it all seemed so genuine. "Stay there! Don't come near me!" I said coldly, and he immediately froze as a result of my remarks. I know it's all a nightmare, but the terror I'm experiencing is gravely serious. I think I wanted to flee away from him.
"We need to leave! I don't like this place!" I said seriously, because I don't like how I'm feeling at the moment now. During our journey, I will brush aside my dream from my psyche. I don't like staying here with him because worry consumes me. What the hell is going on with me? What is this mortal up to with me?
He just nodded and was about to walk away when he was surprised to see me take an empty bowl from the table next to the bed. I bit my wrist quickly and let the blood drip. "Drink!" I said coldly, handing him the bowl containing my blood. The bite on my wrist healed quickly.
"What appears to be the dilemma? Why are you pressuring me to drink like that?" He was immediately perplexed, possibly wondering why I didn't let him bite directly. "I will never let you bite me again!" I declared coldly. You can't bite me again because I no longer feel safe with you. I always neglect to ask one of my queries. Who exactly are you?
