Chapter 146: Neighbor Interference

A knock at the door interrupted Luke's cozy moment with Lexy. Reluctantly, he broke the embrace to answer the door.

"Hi, I'm Tate. Your new neighbor."

The man at the door was a head shorter than Luke. His smile spread from ear to ear and reminded Luke of a sunrise after a night of too much drinking. While beautiful, it was too much.

"Can I help you with something?" Luke asked, ready to make quick work of seeing this guy off posthaste. 

Tate ignored his question. "And you are?"

Luke rolled his eyes. More small talk. "Luke."

"Luke! Nice name. As I said, I'm your new neighbor. I wanted to introduce myself and see if you'd join me for little housewarming party I'm holding Friday."

"No." Luke tried to close the door, but Tate's foot stopped him.
