Chapter 37: The Nicest Thing Anyone Has EVER Done For Me

Scott felt her tears and sounded worried. "Delia? Are you okay?"

"I'm sorry! I shouldn't be emotional about this. It's just…that's the nicest thing anyone has EVER done for me. I guess I'm not over it yet," Cherry told him, though that was only part of the truth.

So many half-truths and straight-out lies. She was every bit as despicable as the creeps she hunted who cheated on their significant others. They were liars too.

She wasn't lying to get action on the side but that was a small consolation. She was lying because she had liked him and knew he wouldn't be interested in her as herself because he thought she was a kid. Now she was in too deep.

He loved her. He LOVED her and she loved him back. What was she supposed to do about that?!

Scott seemed relieved. "Oh, is that all? It really wasn't that big of a deal."

"It was though!" Cherry protested.
