Chapter 28: Chapter 28: Clueless

Ripley's POV

"Blake called me. He said he had a dream and he needed you to know about it," Luke said.

Ripley rolled her eyes. "Blake can call me himself, then, Lucas Roy."

"I think he's afraid to. He said he had a dream about the fleshgait."

"Okay, what does that have to do with me?" Ripley was getting impatient. It wasn't necessarily a long drive home, but she had gotten a late start and wouldn't be home until the afternoon. She had planned to spend the drive listening to a new podcast, not being on the phone with old flames.

"He said it told him it had a message for you. He said the thing told you to look harder and that you were getting closer. The thing told him that you had to look where it hurt. Blake didn't know what that meant, but he woke up in a cold sweat and felt like it wasn't just a dream." Luke sounded concerned. It was unusual for him; he was always so easygoing and carefree.

"I'll keep that in mind," Ripley replied flippantly.
