Chapter 425: Power Tussle (Ch.425)

"Jian, you are well aware that I am placed in a very tight spot as it is." Menarx still continued accusing.

"How is that a fault of mine? I am not the one holding grudges." Jian grumbled beneath his breath, taking a seat behind his desk.

"You cannot escape responsibility and you know it. Would it kill you to show at least the slightest bit of remorse? That much would be enough for Veah." Menarx asked seriously.

Jian glanced over at Menarx for a moment before he returned his attention to the scroll on his desk.

"I do not want this silent war to carry on, it does none of us any good. Veah is your sister in law. You will have to be more accommodating." Menarx advised.

Jian breathed a quiet sigh at Menarx's words, he could not ignore the fact that a step further into their bond meant this was truly happening,

Both Menarx and Neveah had their minds made up and as much as Jian still felt uncertain about this, he knew it was not his call.
