Chapter 52: How did it come to this?

Coral had never fought creatures like this before. Every swing of her knife was deflected by vines and moving flora, her efforts useless. It was already hard enough with the heat and the smoke, what with these endless Mirages that she can't seem to get rid off. 

There were Mirages that held no weapons, utilizing the forest to fight. That was the kind Coral was dealing with right now. For those who did have weapons, Eury was the one to take care of them as she was better suited for it. The metal tip of her weapon clanged against the Mirages' blades, her spear whirring in the air as though it were a baton and she was a dancer. It was hard not to look at Eury when she was fighting, her body bent and unbent, her arms lethally fast as she thrust and twirled her spear around her. 

"Eyes on the enemy, Coral!" Eury shouted as she noticed Coral watching her.
