Chapter 94: Martial arts

Golden blood dripped down the side of Nazmi's lips. She had just taken a sturdy palm directly to her chest, which consequently made blood rise up into her mouth.

Instead of having verbal lessons, Kalliphae had agreed to do martial arts and offensive training. Unless necessary in order to explain a spell or technique, she had sworn to silence. Nazmi appreciated that the spirit was willing to give her some emotional space while she digested everything she had learned.

Kalliphae's bottomless black eyes stared at Nazmi, beckoning her to make a counterattack. It felt as though the older spirit were taunting her.

The Willow's ghost, Nazmi's spiritual mother, had been teaching many different martial arts techniques to her during their prior meetings, but the two had yet to spar.

Until today.

...and wow, was Nazmi terrible at fighting.
