"Y... Yes, I adore Xerek. Who doesn't? " Xerek questioned. Giving off a cocky ambiance.

Having him speak of himself in the third person struck a nerve. His insolence knew no bounds. He threatened Semius and the others right before their eyes and they didn't realize. 

Xerek was the least of my problems. The fight I had with Prince Zephirin mirrored in my eyes. I needed to fix things with him before the rift between us grew. 

Without intending to, I seem to find ways to anger him. Calling his friends monsters countless times doesn't earn me any favors with him. 

"Can I have a word, " I spoke in a hushed tone. 

"Is there more left for you to say? " He inquired. 

There was plenty left to say. I rubbed my brow to wade off a headache. The intense air around the table was taking a toll on me.
