Chapter 66: Just Rediscovering Us

The next day, when I got to work, I was greeted with flowers and gummy bears on my desk. Even before I looked at the card on the flowers, I knew it was from Tyler. He was the only one who knew about her love for gummy bears. I took up the flowers and read it:

Hope these brighten your day :) - Tyler

My heart skipped a beat as I read it. He always knew how to make me smile. I put down the flowers and took up the packet of gummy bears, and smiled. I can't believe after all this time he still remembered. I loved gummy bears, and whenever I was having a bad day, he would always get me some to lift my mood, and it always did. After we spoke yesterday and figured out that I was down, he probably wanted to make me feel better. Not knowing that the moment I got up this morning, I had a smile on my face, and I was feeling hopeful. For a moment, I forgot about my uncertainty. All I felt was warmth at Tyler's gesture. He still cared about me, and that was all that mattered in that moment.
