Juro had returned to the Human Kingdom for a couple of days now. His short trip to visit his uncle in the Demon Kingdom had ended with him getting back home, tired and deflated. Presently, two days after he got back, he was taking a walk around his district at night. The liveliness differed from the Demon Kingdom's night life. After the walk, he went back to his house to take a much needed rest.
Early the next day, he was woken up by a loud banging. It sounded like someone was knocking, but he wasn't expecting anyone. Besides, who will be knocking on someone's door like an idiot this early in the morning? The knock banged again, this time louder.
_Who the hell is that?!_ he thought. _It's five a.m. in the goddamn morning!_
He got out of bed and marched to the door. Yanking the door open, he growled, "What the hell do you want?! It's too early for this nonsense!" He stopped talking when he saw who was knocking—two stoic-looking Palace guards. It was strange enough to see one, but two! Juro was perplexed.
"W-What's wrong?" he asked in a forced calm tone. His insides were in a frenzy but he didn't want to act up in front of the guards.
"Come with us," one of the guards said. "Your presence is required in the palace."
Juro knew his relationship with the Demon King was no secret but he had never been summoned to to the palace like this. "Can I know why?"
"We can't tell you the reason. You will be informed of that when you get to the palace."
"Well, I'm afraid I can't follow you. I need to know the reason why I'm being summoned. Also if I am to be arrested, I'll like to see a warrant."
The guards looked at each other and nodded. One grabbed Juro's arms and pinned them behind him while the other grabbed his legs. They began to carry him off, but Juro's trashing made it difficult. Annoyed, they dropped him and hit his head with the butt of their swords. He was knocked out cold. They then carried him to the palace without troubling themselves.
