Chapter 261: I Love You's

Time seemed useless to Lucas while he stared down at Imani's sleeping form and he couldn't stop himself from smiling as he brushed her curls away from her face. The words she had said to him last night were on a constant replay in his mind and he felt giddy with excitement at the fact that Imani loved him.

A soft laugh escaped his lips, drawing the attention of Nikolay who was standing by the window, and he placed his hand on the side of her face, gently stroking her cheek with his thumb. Nikolay's eyes went from Lucas to Imani as she stirred in Lucas' arms and he pressed his lips together before looking out the window again.

"You're being creepy," Nikolay stated even though he had constantly done what Lucas was currently doing whenever Imani fell asleep next to him.

"It's bright out already," Lucas announced, not taking his eyes and hand off Imani's face. "When will you go find the witch that'll help us get back to our time?"
