The writing style is pretty good with the descriptions of the first quarter. A nice heart-warming ending though I could tell it long coming. In the trying times of COVID-19 and its travel restrictions, it's quite nice to read. My father himself too was trapped overseas for nearly a year and only came back last week, so I have a great level of relatability to this.
Magical realism indeed. reading this makes makes me remember the old times with my father, who is always not around even on saturday/sunday. That one time he managed to come home even though it was improbable was always magical.
