Chapter 363: Chapter 363: Returning to the Village, Tsunade’s Pride!

As Reiki left, Sara pondered his words carefully. Her eyes grew determined. This was an opportunity, and although Reiki had made it clear she could refuse, Sara wasn't about to let go of a chance to change the fate of the Rouran Kingdom.

She went to the palace gates and ordered her guards to summon all the key officials. If Reiki had returned, it meant preparations for their migration needed to begin immediately. Convincing the people wouldn't be difficult for Sara; her reputation in Rouran was unassailable, and most would support her decision.

...

Reiki made his way to the underground palace, where he found Namikaze Minato sealing the dragon vein.

"Are we getting ready to head back?" Reiki asked.

"Reiki, you're just in time. We were discussing... Uzumaki Naruto's memory," Minato said, his voice tinged with hesitation. He had made up his mind earlier but wanted Reiki's input. After all, Reiki had spent the most time with Naruto and might have insights into the future or secrets that could reshape the ninja world.

"Are we going to erase our memories of him?" Reiki said, catching on quickly. "Alright, does anyone object?"

The team exchanged uncertain glances. Namikaze Minato, who had feared Reiki's reluctance, was surprised by his agreement.

"Then, let's proceed," Minato said, forming a series of seals. A bright light enveloped them, erasing all memories of Naruto.

Reiki, of course, was unaffected. He knew more about the future than anyone else, and the system in his mind shielded him from memory-altering jutsu.

...

"Mission accomplished. We can return now," Minato announced after a few moments. Despite having no memory of Naruto, he remembered the mission's completion.

"We'd better go back. Sensei won't be pleased if we're late," Reiki said with a grin.

"Whose fault is that?!" The group turned on Reiki, mock-glaring at him. He really had some nerve, acting so carefree after all they'd been through. But despite their annoyance, Reiki's offer of potions had placated them enough to avoid an actual scolding.

After bidding farewell to Sara, the seven left Rouran.

...

Three days later, they returned to Konoha.

"Brother Minato, I'll leave the mission report to you. I'm going to find Sensei first," Reiki said before vanishing.

He knew the kind of scolding that awaited him for being delayed so long and wanted to face it head-on.

In Tsunade's courtyard, Reiki called out, "Sensei, I'm back." He stepped in, spotting a giant toad figurine, which made his stomach churn at the memory of a certain dish.

"Give me one reason not to punish you," Tsunade said, her tone icy.

"During the mission, I ended up in an Immortal Land and underwent their trials," Reiki explained seriously. "I passed and obtained my own summoning contract. I also started learning Senjutsu, which delayed me. I wanted you to be the first to know."

Tsunade's eyes softened as worry gave way to curiosity. Even Jiraiya, who had been sparring nearby, appeared, intrigued.

An Immortal Land was no trivial matter. It was rare for anyone to pass such trials without guidance. Jiraiya himself had only managed it with the aid of the toads. Tsunade had learned through scrolls, and Orochimaru had found Ryuchi Cave on his own.

"So, where is this Immortal Land?" Tsunade asked, all previous anger gone.

"It's in a realm between time and space. I didn't meet its ruler, just the psychic beast I contracted with," Reiki said, recounting his experience but omitting details about Chodori and her sisters.

"A new Immortal Land?" Tsunade's interest piqued further. "Reiki, show me your contract book."

"Of course," Reiki said, making a series of complex hand signs. A massive stone with his name engraved appeared, emanating a powerful aura that made Tsunade take an involuntary step back.

"The Book of Contract!" she whispered, feeling its oppressive energy.

"Reiki, put it away," Jiraiya said with a serious expression. Reiki nodded and dismissed the stone.

"This Immortal Land is unknown to us," Jiraiya said. "There's no record of it, at least not that I've seen."

"Tsunade, you're not planning to—" Jiraiya started, but she interrupted with an exasperated eye-roll.

"Reiki discovered it himself. There's no need to report it. Did you give the village the contract from Mount Myoboku?" she shot back.

"I didn't say that..." Jiraiya muttered before vanishing in a puff of smoke.

"Reiki, keep this information to yourself," Tsunade advised. "Mastering Senjutsu will greatly benefit you. I couldn't fully grasp the Senjutsu of Shikkotsu Forest because of my limited reserves."

Despite her words, pride shone in Tsunade's eyes. To her, Reiki's talent meant he'd likely succeed where she couldn't.

"Is it an issue with one's reserves?" Reiki asked. "Is the Immortal Land test a one-time thing?"

Tsunade looked at her student, smiling slightly. She was confident Reiki would surpass expectations.
