Seeing Reiki's confident smile, Namikaze Minato couldn't help but feel a touch of helplessness. This boy, despite knowing how valuable and attractive his abilities were to the ninja world, never seemed to worry. The black market for medicinal potions had become fiercely competitive, with prices soaring. Even with deep connections, acquiring them was nearly impossible.
The Sanada Chamber of Commerce, the only entity capable of exporting potions from Konoha, wielded significant power and influence with major ninja villages. Konoha's manufacturing prowess was evident, strengthened by the recent show of power with Minato and Uzumaki Kushina traveling the ninja world, which deterred other villages from interfering. But Reiki, unlike most, ventured out without concern for his safety, making him a prime target.
"Alright, consider this mission a trial," Minato said. "Let's go."
He turned to Kakuzu. "You shouldn't travel directly with us. Your role as a backup is crucial."
With Minato's instructions given, the group continued toward the Land of Wind, while Kakuzu vanished into the shadows.
Reiki reappeared behind Kakuzu with a smile. "Many bounty hunters are after us this time, aren't they?"
Kakuzu didn't jump; he knew it was Reiki's shadow clone. "This is the first time I've seen someone eager to be hunted," he muttered. "By the way, what are you trying to achieve by luring these people to Konoha?"
Reiki grinned. "Curious, Mr. Kakuzu? I could show you someday. But first, tell me—do we need to worry about any of these bounty hunters?"
Kakuzu nodded and listed them out. "Yes. Iron Tower, a martial arts fanatic, has been stockpiling body-building and strengthening potions. Charming, an enigmatic woman whose identity remains hidden—anyone who uncovers it becomes her target. And Yan, a puppet master who turns his victims into humanoid puppets."
Reiki's eyes narrowed with interest. "With such talent, why haven't these ninjas been recruited by villages?"
Kakuzu smirked. "Recruitment? Sure, attempts were made, but they killed those who tried. Besides, they don't like village constraints—they're not worth the pay offered. Eventually, no one tried anymore."
"Ah, so it's all about conflicting interests and too many restrictions," Reiki said thoughtfully. "Mr. Kakuzu, have you ever considered joining my organization?"
Kakuzu's eyes widened in surprise. "Your organization?"
Reiki nodded and explained, "We'll compensate you handsomely each month, with no restrictive rules—just one principle: do not attack other members. Beyond that, you're free to do as you wish."
He unrolled a scroll, revealing:
[Organization: Jue!]
[Member: Reiki]
[Position: Leader]
Kakuzu blinked at the simplicity. Reiki had an organization, and he was the first to be invited.
"Alright," Kakuzu said, biting his finger to leave a blood seal on the scroll.
[Organization: Jue]
[Member: Kakuzu]
[Position: Independent Operations Special Operator]
"Welcome to the Jue Organization," Reiki said, handing over a stack of money. "Here's your first month's pay and your initial mission."
Kakuzu's eyes widened at the prompt payment. "Chief Reiki, you're serious about this?"
Reiki nodded. "I need strong allies, and you need stability. It's mutually beneficial. Plus, you understand the advantages of being part of my organization, right?"
With a smile, Reiki tossed another scroll at Kakuzu and vanished in a puff of smoke. Kakuzu unrolled the scroll, and various potions spilled out, nearly burying him.
"This... hahaha... Chief Reiki, this is incredible!"
Even the president of the Sanada Chamber of Commerce, Mr. Sanada himself, couldn't flaunt medicinal potions this casually. And here was Kakuzu, now surrounded by potions and wealth before lifting a finger. The thought thrilled him to his core.
