"Where did you get the money for all this?" Naruto inquired before taking a bite of ramen.
Mito fell silent, pondering how to respond to Naruto without upsetting him.
"I had been saving some money for our birthday, so you don't have to worry about finances," Mito replied with a smile.
The truth was she had actually started a part-time job at Ichiraku Ramen shop, using her Shadow Clone Jutsu to assist. Mito avoided visiting the shop during the day, preferring to work at night. She didn't want anyone to find out she was working to earn extra money. Mito prepared all the ingredients for ramen at night, allowing the ramen guy to simply cook them in the morning.
TIME SKIP: 1 YEAR
Mito and Naruto were now officially 6 years old. Mito had also been practicing sealing jutsu, preparing herself for her future plans in Naruto's world.
As the day before the academy arrived, Naruto was extremely excited, while Mito felt quite the opposite—tired and stressed, knowing that everyone would likely bully her brother, especially Sakura and Ino.
IN THE MORNING
Mito woke up to noise; it was Naruto, bubbling with excitement about the academy.
"Hey, wake up Mito! It's the day I become a ninja!" Naruto exclaimed eagerly.
"You won't become a ninja in just one day, Naruto. Calm down," Mito replied, her voice tinged with annoyance.
Though Mito loved her brother, Naruto could be annoying, like a persistent younger relative who interrupted no matter how important the task at hand was.
Mito was also determined not to showcase any of her knowledge or jutsu; there was a high chance Danzo would discover her abilities. She wanted to blend in as an average student, like Choji or perhaps Kiba or Shikamaru.
"I have to stay calm. I can't reveal any jutsu in front of anyone," Mito muttered to herself.
"Let's go, Mito! You'll make me late too," Naruto shouted.
"This kiddo is as excited for the academy as we all were on our first day of school. After that, it's just a boring routine," Mito grumbled to herself.
AT THE ACADEMY
When Naruto and Mito entered the classroom, silence fell. Mito anticipated some rudeness upon their entrance, but this silence was different; it seemed more curious than hostile.
MITO'S POV
As soon as I stepped into the classroom, everyone fell silent. Initially, I thought it was because of the Nine-Tails Fox story and rumors, but this felt different. I could sense various emotions—jealousy, shyness, excitement. I didn't understand why all these kids were staring at me for no reason. Was I looking foolish? This emotional atmosphere seemed more like shyness and jealousy.
END OF POV
Mito never saw herself as particularly beautiful or cute; she spent her time practicing in the dirt and brainstorming various business ideas. However, being the daughter of the handsome Minato Namikaze and the beautiful Kushina made her stand out. Mito looked stunning in her cute frock with full sleeves.
Most of the girls in the class were jealous, and the boys seemed shy, just staring at Mito.
While Mito contemplated all this, Naruto continued to make noise, seemingly unaware of the attention they were receiving.
Mito felt a bit shy as she sat near Ino, knowing Ino could be annoying but understanding the need to maintain some friendships.
Sakura's POV
Who is that girl? She's with Naruto, but she can't be his girlfriend or sister. She's so beautiful. I hope Sasuke doesn't fall for her.
Ino's POV
Now we have one more competitor, huh?
Hinata's POV
Oh, Naruto. But who is that girl with him? Is she...?
Sasuke's POV
Annoying brat, shouting here and there. I've never seen this girl before.
END OF POVs
Mito was sure she would make nice friends at the academy, like Shikamaru, Choji, Hinata, and maybe even Ino and Sakura if they didn't annoy her brother too much. But if she ended up in Team 7, there was a high chance she would be paired with Kakashi Hatake. Mito had had a crush on him since day one. However, she knew that might not happen unless Kakashi fell for her first, or she made him fall for her. Otherwise, she might end up with someone else, like Shikamaru, Kiba, or even Sasuke.
"Did you say anything?" Ino asked, breaking Mito from her thoughts.
"It's me, Mito Uzumaki," Mito replied with a smile.
Ino continued to stare at Mito, amazed at how beautiful Naruto's sister was.
Finally, Iruka-sensei entered the class, and everyone welcomed him. Though Naruto didn't yet know Iruka-sensei in this timeline, Iruka was well aware of Mito Uzumaki, having seen her often at the Hokage statue, watching the moon.
While everyone focused on the lesson, Mito found her mind drifting to the tragedy of the Uchiha massacre. She didn't pay attention to Iruka-sensei's lecture.
"Ouch!" Mito exclaimed suddenly, drawing everyone's attention.
All eyes turned to Mito. Iruka-sensei noticed her lack of focus and threw a chalk at her head.
Mito stood up, feeling the weight of embarrassment settle upon her.
"Mito, tell me, what is chakra?" Iruka-sensei asked.
Mito was already at the level of a Chunin ninja; there was no way she didn't know the answer. However, she hesitated, feigning ignorance for a few moments before responding.
Despite her answer, Iruka-sensei scolded her for not paying attention and looking outside the classroom.
Mito's POV
"Really, Mito? It's your first day of school, and you're already being kicked out of class. Look at how everyone is laughing at you," Mito muttered to herself. "I was just planning for the future."
"What?" Mito exclaimed loudly.
"What are you doing, Naruto?" Mito asked in confusion.
"I was talking in class, and Iruka-sensei caught me. He threw me out," Naruto replied.
